I wanted a huge chop (over 14 inches!) and had somewhat of an idea of bangs I wanted. Bekah treated my hair like it was a precious child. She immediately asked if I was donating my hair (even I forgot I was) and helped tie off my strands and even placed them in a bag for me. She helped me figure out a good length and asked if I was okay while she cut the majority off. She also asked my preference on where I like to part my hair too (which again I totally forgot that existed). I appreciated that because I was slightly freaking out. Ladies, surely you know what I mean. The hair washing? Therapeutic. She then helped my indecisive self with the chosen length of shaggy bangs. I knew it was almost closing time for the salon, but Bekah made me feel like the cut wasn't being rushed at all and made sure I was happy with the result. I was super comfortable during the whole process. It's been YEARS since I've stepped into a salon for a haircut y'all. After styling and some curling, I fell in love with my new look. If you don't know what hairstyle you'd like the stylists are very good at selecting a hairstyle that matches your face shape (or they will go with your choice on hair magazine). I was very particular about the color because I have my hair up most the time as I am a preschool teacher. After 3 LONG hours getting the highlights and the cut I kept having to have her change some here and there so when I could wear it down it suited my needs. It wasn't exactly what I wanted..I had shown her pictures of the style and the way I wanted chunky highlights. I was so worn down and back hurt so bad at that time I just wanted to get out of there. The next day I put my hair up as usual to be surprised by how uneven she did the color! My left side was light and good; but, my right side was dark. Not wanting to step in the salon again I had to get my own color and dye brown into the highlights light myself. Now I need to figure out how to lighten up my right side! I don't know how to go about that directly. I also had to frame my face with shears so I could have some long bangs as shown to her. I'm not a hairdresser! I'm at a loss of what to do about this. I feel horrible and can't enjoy the over 3 hours of horrible pain and how long the whole process was. I went to the other salon, and showed her several pictures of how I wanted my bangs to look. This particular stylist hacked my bangs. I mean, I could have done a better job myself. Nothing is worse than a hairstylist who clearly wants to be somewhere else when she is cutting your hair AND during the time when you are cutting in bangs after growing them out over a long period of time. So, after my bangs were chopped, I spent even more time on Yelp trying to find a salon who could help fix my bangs. Pure is close to my house, and the 5 star ratings cannot be ignored! I was able to get an appointment that day with Iasmina. She fixed my bangs in the best way she could and I was so thankful. She spent time with me looking at how they were cut, and she fixed some other issues with my haircut that I did not like. I am now a few weeks out from my appointment, and my bangs are growing in perfectly. They still are not exactly what I want, but they are so much better because of what Iasmina did with them. I scheduled my next appointment with her immediately. Front desk staff was super friendly (Becky!) and she gave me a tour of the salon when I came in.
