My husband raved about his latest burritos and went to some length to tell me why. He is so impressed at how much more moist and flavorful the burritos are now. (He usually orders the Grande, so he would be the one to notice the difference from burrito to burrito.) For our latest order, I made a point of seeing what was new/featured on the menu. Without a second thought I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala burrito and feel as if I got a two-fer: a terrific burrito AND an amazing new flavor combo. I seriously hope this burrito stays on the menu (the red chile brisket, too, please!?) because it's a new favorite. As I told my husband, that burrito could easily slip into my favorite meal routine. This place is definitely overrated. The food is just mediocre. I actually think Taco Bell is tastier and way more affordable. But for my 7 and 10 year old great granddaughters it was a real treat. One of their favorite places to go. But for me, I was not impressed. The interior is pretty cool because there is upstairs seating and the girls loved that. Just when we thought they were going to ask us to remove our pet, they instead brought out a dog bowl full of water and gave her a dog bone. Outstanding touch of class and service. If I could give them zero stars I would. Me and my friend went there for dinner, after our meal we stopped at the restroom. when we walked out we heard two of the workers talking smack about us. we could clearly tell it was about us since we were the only customers in there since they were about to close they were being completely rude as we walked out, they stopped talking and looked guilty. The last 2 times we ordered, they stacked them in the box and it was a cold, soggy, disgusting mess. At this point they make taco bell look like gourmet Mexican food. Let me just start by saying the food here is amazing. The food is very good for the price and it's very fast as well. Yes don't think i've ever waited any longer for twenty minutes. The customer service has always been good and the employees are very friendly. The border salsa is amazing and goes with just about everything and it's almost good enough to drink. I have to say I have always been a big fan of border grill and the border burrito. However the last few times at the Negaunee location have been less than impressive. It takes forever to get your food in what should be. semi-fast food environment, staff don't know the menu (could tell us what some of the meat choices were, and were rude or didn't know what to do when the order didn't come out right). Recently, I got the shrimp quesadilla and the tortilla wasn't even cooked and the shrimp was barley grilled. My wife got a chicken and rice bowl and the rice was still hard and the it came out cold. I've went in and told them they got it wrong respectfully and the chef sat there at complained about me coming in to say they got it wrong. I am generally very easy going when it comes to mistakes because I know they happen. I'm fact, this is my first every yelp review. But for the 2nd straight time there has been a mistake with my pickup order from BG Negaunee. The last time, they simply forgot the chips we ordered. No big deal, it happens. But this time (after checking we got everything before leaving) I get home to find that one of the meal orders was wrong. And not that they made the wrong item, they gave me someone else's. One box had a correct item with my order name on it, while the other box was someone else's order entirely with a completely different name. Seems to be a lack of attention to detail at this establishment, and I really hope management can fix it as it's one of our favorite places. This place is awesome! Have been coming here for two years and they are so consistent and the service keeps getting better. Border Grill is what Chipotle and Qdoba aspire to be. The food is very fresh, delicious and timely. It's a very casual place. It's perfect for lunch! Great for kids as well. They serve beer at the Marquette location which is also great! Highly recommend! Please open a location for us down south in the Mitten such as Novi, Canton, Ann Arbor, Plymouth,etc! Person at counter was amicable, however there was only my boyfriend, myself and 1 group of 4 teenagers in. It took 15 minutes for our order of 2 quesadillas and 2 burritos and chips and cheese. They also forgot to put rice with a burrito and didn't give us one of the quesadillas. Better training on ensuring orders are accurate would be beneficial. Do better with your management. read more

The Border Salsa is so addicting. No matter what you order (my favorite is the Border burrito with chicken and Mexican rice), order extra salsa. Everything is fresh, inexpensive and delicious. Really, this was terrible food. I asked what kind of sautéed vegetables on a quesadilla and I was told oh you know, lettuce and tomatoes. Ok. The tacos have no cheese? Putting a corn tortilla in a microwave to make it pliable doesn't make it good. Just terrible. This is the second time I gave it a shot, I've learned my lesson. read more

The food was alright, and to be honest disappointing. I haven't had it in a while and was so excited to have it again while I was back in town, but it does not live up to what it used to be. On 5/20/20 we had an amazing guy who literally ran to give us our food. He deserves a raise so much he's working so hard. We are in a middle of a rush and he is busting his but. We made an impromptu stop for dinner and were not disappointed. We were met with a friendly greeting by staff at this little strip mall location. The space is open and clean and comfortable. The food was prepared quickly and I was surprised how delicious it was, given another review here on Yelp. Our food was every bit as satisfying as it is at the Boarder Grill in Marquette. Border grill use to be the best place to go while in Marquette. I recently came home to visit from a California and it just wasn't the same. My order was messed up when I went to pick it up in the drive through but the ladies inside were so nice about it and got me a new one which I appreciated but i feel like the taste and quality just isn't the same. Probably the worst "Mexican" food I have ever had. I ordered steak tacos which I asked for just meat and cheese and I got tacos overloaded with lettuce and drenched in some terrible sauce. I've given this place many tries, because I really do want to like it, and the locals seem to go crazy for it. But I just can't get on board. Found this place on Yelp and stopped in for a to-go burrito order. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat with mexican flare, this is a great stop. This was a perfect chicken burrito- good size, tasty chicken and guacamole. The housemade salsa is really tasty as well.
