I ordered a frame online, automated purchase message said "we'll let you know when your order is on…read moreits way". A week later I messaged their customer service to get an update, no response. I tried the chat function on their website, no response. I sent a message on their facebook page, no response. After my second email to customer service they responded by saying "we'll let you know when it's on its way". I emailed back to ask them to specify if I should wait a day, a week or a month but of course nobody bothered to reply. There's no option to cancel the order so I'll have to talk to my credit card company to get my money back. I'm sure they're lovely people in the store but their online customer service is non-existent.

I choose Good Looking Optics because I saw good reviews on the internet…read more Instead of good service and prices,I got ripped off and end up paying more then I will ever imagine(even though I got their leaflet with various discounts which was completely useless in the end). Every information about prices I got was confused and every employer told me different things. I got impression that Gary and his stuff are sweet talk and kind untill time for paying come,then you got much higher price then you already been told,and everything happen in a rush without any explanation why is that. One of his employers tried to assure me to by lenses in a wrong power-with explanation that they are not producing lenses in my power but power they got is similar with mine(?!),which is really unprofessional. After all I am really dissapoint and I won't go to Good Looking Optics ever again.

I write this because of the way they have adapted to Covid. A whole new enlarged Test Room with an actual window and a hi output vent system . All the usual precautions too but I was impressed how much more pleasant the visit is with the appointment system .

I also like how it's a pleasant experience to wait on the comfy sofa and read a magazine or one of their books. They had an etch-a-sketch too, I can't remember if they still have it, but what a fun, nostalgic way to pass the time if you get there early for your appointment.

Yes, definitely…read more I bought a gorgeous and pricy pair of glasses here a couple of years ago and they've taken care of me ever since. £25 for my eye exam, £90 for my lenses (my vision is quite poor).... not gonna tell you how much I spent on my frames... but all taken care of promptly and with a smile. They even helped me no problem when I wanted to order my contacts in the US (they had to send my prescription) rather than through them because it was cheaper. When I broke said expensive frames (that colour was sadly discontinued), they offered to order two pairs of the same frames in different colours so I could try them out. Sure, you can get inexpensive glasses elsewhere, but this is a small, privately owned optometrist that will really take care of your vision... stylishly!

Recently I've upgraded to some new Japanese made lenses which are remarkably crisp and better for reading than my previous lenses. The test equipment is very modern and you can now look at your retina on the Apple display if so inclined. I don't change my glasses very often, but I take the tube here whenever I do or for a routine eye test. Islington is a nice part of town so pop down and have a coffee near the canal next time you visit.
