Good Looking Optics? More like Award Winning Optics! This is the best ever opticians I've ever been to. One day I was stumbling around in the streets trying to find a place to get new glasses to fit my poor eyes and then the next minute I've been whisked off into the world of Good Looking Optics. All the employees were nice and friendly while greeting me in there! I felt like I was in my own home - That's how comfortable I was! Garry, the owner of the business was trying his best to keep me and the other customers entertained while the employees were in a mix of keeping the business going smoothly and helping Garry with his entertaining methods, and also providing us with snacks and a beverage :). Sarah, the Optometrist during the eye test was very funny during the eye test and made it less awkward as it usually was during my previous eye tests at other opticians. Why there is only one branch of this independent opticians really eludes me, because there should be more opticians that work like this. If there were more then the world would be a lot happier! I do not agree with the two long negative reviews made in 2012, but then again if it was THAT bad then there has been a massive improvement since then because its pretty awesome now. Oh dear. I visited Good Looking Optics after seeing rave reviews on a Facebook Group. I now know they are affiliated with them and feel extremely misled. I went in for a check-up as I hadn't been in a while and I also needed a new pair of glasses. First I was made to wait over 30mins for the owner to get back from lunch despite having an appointment, not a great start. When he did finally get back, he was very friendly and put me at ease. The eye test itself was quite standard and what I was used to but I did feel it was a bit rushed and didn't feel my questions were given the necessary consideration. They spent much more time trying to sell me expensive frames when all I wanted was something simple to wear everyday. I also needed a second pair and the offer I saw the previous day (discounted second pair) on Facebook somehow expired overnight despite being told to come in the next day! I said I would go elsewhere and had the prescription withheld by the owner so couldn't just go and purchase a pair somewhere else without going through another test. I wasn't in the mood to argue and just wanted to leave at that point. Needless to say I was not impressed being held at ransom and will not be visiting again. Go elsewhere for a better more honest service. read more

I first met Garry when he came into my school to run a session for 'Futures Day'. This consisted of motivational talks and invaluable advice for when we entered the world of work, advice which has helped to bring me success. Garry was then kind enough to give me a voucher for a free pair of sunglasses. Two years later, I entered GoodLooking Optics as a customer and found that the selection of frames was much wider and simply better than other opticians that I have been to. After reintroducing myself to Garry and mentioning that I hoped to go into medicine, he did not hesitate to very kindly offer me work experience. During this placement, I learned a great deal about the human eye and the various diseases which can affect it, as well as how to interact better with customers/patients. It is now clear to me just how important good customer service is to Garry and the GoodLooking Optics team. Through being both a customer, and someone who has worked alongside the staff, I can confirm that the team are all very friendly and highly competant. I am genuinely shocked at some of the reviews I'm reading. I have worn glasses now for the large majority of my adult life, and I imagine like many others, my allegiance was initially pledged to Specsavers. However, this all changed when Specsavers did not have two specific frames I desired which led me to branch out in search for an optician who could meet such demands. I stumbled across Goodlooking Optics on a chance encounter 5 years ago, and I can now say with complete confidence that they will forever have my custom. I change my glasses annually and each time I go in to see Garry and his team, I'm consistently satisfied. They are the friendliest group of people, and you get a sense that their sole purpose is to ensure each customer is satisfied. This is manifested in their treatment towards me. Garry always ensures that I get the frames I want, with little or no delay, at a competitive price (I like to shop around to guarantee I get the best value for money). I had a great experience from start to finish with Good Looking Optics. The team there took care of my needs at every turn. I loved being able to book online as I am usually too busy to think about these things in office hours. Then I was made to feel very welcome at my appointment which was thorough and conducted by a very capable and pleasant optician. When it came to choosing glasses, I felt that the whole team were invested in my choosing a great pair of glasses that would really suit me and also be durable in the rough and tumble of family life. What's more, once I had chosen the style they came in less than 48 hours later so a massive over performance on the week lead time given. I wanted to share my experience at Good Looking Optics. I went there to buy sun glasses for my girlfriend. Not only did she love them, but i loved the service i received from Gary and his team. I found the customer service fantastic and really useful. For example, Information about the shape of the face, the size of the frame and material of the glasses really helped me picked the right ones! To be honest i am clueless when it comes to glasses so the feedback was really useful to me. Im really glad i stumbled upon a great local business with a vibrant team, since i have been there many of my friends have purchased their glasses there too and were also impressed which inspired me to do this review. Good looking optics offer a personalized service which is simply unavailable else-where. I was fed up of being treated like a statistic in your average high street chain where It felt like you were being tested on a conveyor belt. With good looking optics, from the second I walk in, I'm treated like an old friend. I was made a cup of tea and there was a play area for my 20 month old son. The manager Garry is an enthusiastic, engaging character who took a personal interest in finding the best frame for me. He helped me expand my horizons and choose a pair of glasses that suited me perfectly which I otherwise might have dismissed. His staff were always smiling and there was a friendly environment. My wife and I have now moved to high Wycombe and still feel it is worth the two hour round trip to Enfield. read more

I would just like to contradict the previous comments, based on my own personal experiences with the optician. Based on a routine trip for my child's first eye test I realised my own long distance vision was not up to scratch. They were pleased to do the eye test and I was provided with a very nice, competitively priced pair of driving glasses (in fact I though it was a very good deal). But in fact my main contradiction comes from what happened next . I was unfortunately the victim of a theft where a thief with the exactly the same prescription as myself took it upon him/herself to steal them from my car (quite unbelievable I know). Garry could not have been more helpful, having me straight back into the opticians for a completely free replacement pair. So that alone warrants 5 stars! read more

I am so fortunate to have gone to Good Looking Optics in Enfield, I took a free eye test to check on my eyesight - I was years overdue for my yearly checkup - and found out that I am long sighted. Having found out at this time was 'life-saving' in the fact that I could fix it with a pair of glasses, whereas if I didn't have a check up and didn't find out about it, things could have gotten worse and I would've needed to wear glasses for the rest of my life. I was really pleased with the customer service and how interactive they were - I felt really welcomed which is not something you find everywhere. The staff are a unique and quirky set of individual's and it's never too much trouble for them to make you a cup of tea or offer you a glass of wine. Good Looking Optics are amazing! I am so baffled by the negative review and can only say...go see for yourself! (excuse the pun) The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the service five star and they always have the best glasses on offer. I went to have my eyes checked with my son and felt totally at home. Infact, how about this for customer service, I'm a yoga teacher and my tea was served in a yogi tea mug! The owner Garry is quite the local celebrity but he is a professional first. I've gone to Good Looking Optics twice for eye tests myself and had a great experience, Urja their optician is very knowledgeable. The reception team are very welcoming and I was offered tea and conversation whilst I waited for my appointment. I luckily didn't need glasses but was reassured after the tests that my eyes are healthy. I have since recommended them to my family and friends and my GF, Father and cousin have all have outstanding experiences. They have all bought designer glasses at great prices. GoodLooking Optics is an amazing opticians! As soon as I entered the shop, all of the staff made me feel so welcome. I was nervous as I hadn't had an eye test in a few years, but they all made me feel at ease. Before my eye test, I got to watch some T.V and have a cup of Tea, which made me feel like I hadn't even left my house! I have been a patient at Good Looking Optics for 5 years and they have never let me down! I was recommended to them from my neighbour at the time so we took the kids to get their eye tests done over half term. The opticians were great with the kids and also had time to squeeze me in to! They didn't make us pay an arm and a leg for our glasses, the kids glasses were practically free! They always give us a call to remind us when we are all due in. Great opticians in Enfield! read more
