I have been shopping at Lowes Foods for over 11 years. It is a privately owned chain of grocery…read morestores with the main office based in North Carolina. It is not a Super Center, but it does have a nice selection of quality meats, fish and poultry. If you want a special cut, the butchers are happy to help. Their produce department. is sizable for a grocery store this size and offers some organic produce. There is also a bakery that produces a decent amount of cakes, cookies and breads, for its small size. There is a beer bar in there, with select beers and bar stools. I don't drink so I have not imbibed. The star of this store is they have Boars Head cold cuts, as well as NY style potato salad. If you're from the north, you know how important these delicacies are to us. My husband also enjoys their Knishes and he's from Brooklyn. A large bar height table is there for those who prefer to eat in the store, but I hardly see anyone use it. Lowes Foods has a decent selection of dry goods, frozen, health and dairy products. If you're a senior over 60 years of age, on Wednesday they offer a .05% discount on your foods. I have visited several chains and they are very much the same. I've been to Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island. This is a very clean store, the employees are always friendly and helpful and I do appreciate supporting the locals.

I'm doing a snowbird rental for the month on the Golden Mile and came here for the Friday Half Rack…read moreof Ribs Special for $8.00. I saw a video on it and the grocery store a month ago or so. The store is pretty cool with a bar where you can get a flight of beers , a coffee shop not a Starbucks , dry aged beef in the butcher shop , nice produce , and everything in between. The employees are very nice and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. They also have a gas station on the premises as well as other shops and restaurants in the shopping plaza. My only complaint is it's in Carolina Forest. After getting groceries and gas I went to the exit with stop light to make a left turn and I was in a huge line that wasn't moving. The traffic light would only cycle to the Yellow Turn Signal so only one car at a time was getting through. It was super busy with traffic. I changed lanes and made a right to go down to another light and turn around to make a left at that light which did do the Green Left Turn Signal. I made it the 3rd cycle. I heard about traffic here , but didn't know it was this bad. So I won't be returning here for this reason. Food Lion is only about a mile or 2 away from where I'm staying and unfortunately the ribs I came to get were not even that good ! Dang.

We came in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and they were not too busy. It has a large bar area,…read morebut extra areas with tables. The staff were super friendly with great meal recommendations. The young lady who took our drink order and our waitress recommended the Crafty Quesadilla - Shredded cheese with sauteed peppers and onions, served with lettuce and tomato garnish salsa and sour cream. You can have it just like that or customize with- Grilled Chicken, Shaved Steak, Grilled Shrimp, Bacon, Lobster, Ground Cab Beef, Plant Based Patty, Fresh Jalapenos, Sauteed Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Tomatoes. I added chicken. It was very tasty with a balanced amount of chicken and vegetables. My husband had the Conway Burger. Local favorite! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion, with pepper jack cheese. We had fried pickles for a starter and he added some of them to the burger. It was a nice big burger. Cannot wait to go back and try their Rivertown Mac. Conway is a beautiful town perfect for strolling on a lovely day. Picked up a jar of local honey from Mountain Man Honey & Goods. Lot of great local spreads without refined sugars.

Helen and I discovered it while scouting out local spots, and its location couldn't be better--just steps from the scenic Conway Riverwalk, surrounded by charming shops and historic buildings. Even the street parking (easy parallel with a two-hour window) felt like part of the laid-back, small-town experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe hit just right: cozy, welcoming, and full of locals who clearly know a good thing when they see it. The staff made us feel right at home--friendly, attentive, and happy to help us navigate the menu. We kicked things off with the cold lobster dip, and let me tell you--this isn't your average appetizer. Imagine a creamy lobster roll transformed into a rich, indulgent dip, packed with chunks of lobster and served with warm pita points. It was the kind of dish you don't want to share... but have to. Helen went for the Reuben--perfectly stacked with shaved corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and house-made Thousand Island, all grilled on black rye. I opted for the seafood platter with fish and shrimp, cooked to perfection. The fries were hand-cut, the seafood was fresh and flavorful, and while the jalapeño dill slaw had a bit more kick than I expected, the rest of the plate absolutely delivered. As we soaked in the atmosphere, we spotted a plate of loaded Brussels sprouts heading to another table--crispy, golden, tossed in garlic parmesan sauce, and topped with bacon and shredded parmesan. Safe to say, that's already on our must-try list for next time. And so is their "Everything but the Hen" wrap--a hearty combo of shaved steak, grilled shrimp, bacon, fresh veggies, provolone, and horseradish mayo wrapped up in a soft tortilla. Yes, it sounds as good as it looks. The best part? After a couple of beers, a full seafood platter, a loaded Reuben, and that incredible lobster dip, our total was still under $50--even with tip and tax. Great food, great prices, and a relaxed, local vibe--The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill has officially earned a spot on our regular rotation. We'll definitely be back for more.
