My favorite store is the Dillard's, where I've been able to find some really great deals on clearance sale items in their men's big and tall department. Located on the east-side of the Promenade is DSW. My g/f and I decided to browse thru since she…read morefound a great deal at her last visit. There are DSWs in CA and this one was smaller than where I've been to. We went to the clearance area since my g/f said that she found some excellent deals before. Sure, why not? VERY small selection in my size (6). However, she had plenty to select from. I did find a pair of cas Steve Maddens for about $15. She found some hot GUESS stilettos for about $40, although I had to convince her to make the purchase. Checkout was another issue. I didn't have a positive experience with my cashier. She wasn't very friendly and asked for my personal information to sign up for the rewards program. She kept asking me to repeat my info several times since she couldn't "understand". It's not my fault if you can't comprehend lady! I guess it worked out since I did get $5 off my purchase. There was a rowdy group before me, and the cashier made a sly comment into her earpiece to the other employees about them. Not very professional at all. 1 star for my deal; 0 for customer service.

We went to buy track suits today at Academy for my 85 year old father in a wheelchair…read more Limited inventory and a mixed bag of customer service. My father asked a 60+ year old woman with no makeup and a grown out diver flat top for help She turned her back on him an told me that she was too busy, her male counterpart was at lunch and she was behind in orders because of him. My father was embarrassed and belittled. There is a word for women who behave like that but it isn't used in mixed company outside of a Veterinarians office. As best of all, this woman is a store manager! I hope Grant actually sees this. We took the one suit we had picked out and went to Dillards. From when I was a little boy, Dillards and MM Cohn's were the department stores. Customer service and selection were always top drawer My dress suits came from Bauman's and everything else from those two establishments. After flying 1,200 miles I home I understand that selection will not be what it is in LA, NY or wherever my job sends me around the world. What I will not accept is poor , rude customer service. In this economy, ALIAH (spelling?) should be reminded by her manager that a job is a blessing and a customer with cash In hand is a luxury. So off we went to Dillards where I dropped a hefty sum buying him anything he needed or wanted. He deserves respect as a human being and to be responded to when addressed. It's just good cotillion quality manners. And I happen to love making him happy. So here we are at Dillards and guess what? They didn't have two items in his size. Without asking they sourced it from The Little Rock store and we are on our way to pick them up now. I keep a list of needs and wants and places to go to get them. Academy is no longer on that list. Go to Dillards. The prices are pretty competitive and they will treat you like a welcome customer for years. I know because I am one.

Now, everything is ridiculously over priced! I went a couple of weekends ago and every single item I looked at was at least $100. For what? The items are super trendy, so they go out of style fast. The quality is also poor- cheap materials that will not last. I'm upset as I used to love this place, but it has continued to decline. I suggest you save your money and shop elsewhere
