I decide to test my luck here, and after giving Anthony a rundown of my problem he told me he could take my PC and get started on it. After a few trial and error runs and thorough testing, he saved my PC! Excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and at very fair prices! If I ever have any more concerns in the future with electronics I'll definitely be bringing them here.

I desperately needed important work information off the phone. I had mistakenly turned off iCloud backup and was looking at hundreds of dollars for a data recovery specialist to give me a text file so I could manually reenter all the lost info. For just a $25 diagnosis charge they were able to get the phone turned on and then perform a backup. If you're out of warranty on your device, these guys are awesome! I can't recommend them enough and will go here again before hassling with Apple and their "approved repairs" that don't work and cost multiple times what I payed here.

That she can just give me a refund. I said how? She said she has to find my old screen in frustration. How is that possible? So you would put my old broken screen back on my phone for a refund? FALSE ADVERTISING AND BROKE MY PC CASE!…read more Website specifically says "FREE DIAGNOSTICS" and "no fix no fee". Yet AFTER I dropped my PC off the owner tried to claim I owed $60 after he gave me a receipt that said total $0. No shame. He even told me over yelp "bring it in for free diagnostics". Not only that, he broke my PC case because he couldn't figure out he had to press a latch to open it and probably just ripped it out and tried to hide it with screws and didn't tell me. And now it doesn't stay closed anymore. And also he took out my GPU and didn't bother screwing it back in place when he was done, just left it dangling in there. Stay away from these clowns.

On top of that, I was returned a phone with a cracked screen. I called as soon as I got home, about 10 minutes after leaving, when I noticed the crack. The person I spoke to denied that the screen was cracked when he handed my phone back to me, which was extremely frustrating because I had barely even left the store. This place is a real hit and miss, it just depends on whether or not you get lucky. For basic…read morerepairs I would not recommend, but if you need something specific done they may be a good option. My experience was largely positive. I requested a repair on a game console a while back. It was a 15 minute job, but required some equipment that I do not have. Labor was vastly overpriced (15 minute job, $10 for parts, $90 for labor), but it is understandable. They have to have a price floor, and the repair I needed done was short and specific. Overall, it turned out fine. The device has not had issues since, and none of my data was destroyed. Regardless, I recommend always making a backup of your data before consulting any repair company. 10/10 for my specific instance, but look out. If you are on a tight budget or do not know how to back up your data, I would perhaps practice extra discernment in your search.

I took my phone in because my phone wasn't charging, either by cable or wirelessly. They took my…read more$50 diagnostic fee and asked for two hours to investigate - I gave them four. When I returned, they said it might be the battery ($83 repair and they'd have to order it and could have it back in 7-10 days), but said it might be something to do with the screen assembly (or something like that), and that would be $178 and they had that in stock. I said fine, just get it working, as I had a surgery scheduled and needed a way to communicate with my support team. I gave them more time, and their assessment was that it wasn't that either - they said my phone showed no signs of life and I'd need to buy a new phone. But they didn't charge me the $178 after testing it to see if it would work. So, I went to Best Buy and chatted with GeekSquad for a second opinion - they told me UbreakIfix was now a mainstream repair shop, doing mainly warranty work for the major carriers, and anything beyond simple repairs wasn't their thing...and that I'd probably be able to get it fixed at a "mom&pop" shop. GeekSquad said they couldn't work on a phone as old as mine (5 years), and recommended a shop in Folsom that their customers had success with. I bought a new phone for $750 since I was already there, and was willing to risk forfeiting a $45 re-stocking fee to return it if I managed to get my phone working. I didn't go to the shop recommended by GeekSquad, but found Salmaan Phone Repair in Rocklin and he had my phone working in less than 10 minutes (I'll write a review for him, too). The issue was a bad FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) cable - the cable that connects the charging port to the daughterboard. 2 stars for not being able to diagnose a basic power issue -1 star for telling me my phone would never work again +1 star for positive experience with the uBiF person that followed up with me when I complained about their non-refundable diagnostic fee when the diagnosis was 100% incorrect.
