Seated right away. Good enough atmosphere. It's not Bailiwicks, but good enough... Their bar area is super lively, I like it a lot. We both *don't* love the one and only, unisex bathroom that is always out of hand soap and not always super clean (according to Boyfriend who had to lift the seat.......). They need to keep an eye on that... Waitress was ok. A very loud talker. Food was amazing! I had both their "specials" - the fiddle heads appetizer and the Lamb chops... which were also served with fiddle heads, and a delicious risotto (I didn't realize the lamb was also served with fiddle heads, if I had, I would have tried a different appetizer - but that's my fault because I'm sure she must have mentioned it). Everything was amazing. Lamb was so tender and perfectly flavored. Boyfriend had the hanger steak and duck fat fries and loved it too. Says it's some of the best fries he's had! I'm not much of a dessert person but I like trying stuff at restaurants where I know it will be homemade. I had some whipped cream and butterscotch dessert and it was great - couldn't finish as I was full, but no regrets. We will be back! I love that their menu changes seasonally, it keeps things very interesting.

We stumbled upon this place while staying in Bretton Woods for the weekend and having a lack of…read moreplaces nearby to eat. It was a little confusing upon entering the restaurant as to where we should go (there isn't a host stand or much of an entry way), but we were promptly greeted by both the manager (?) and a server. We did have to wait a few minutes for a table as they were busy and needed to take a moment to set the table, but they explained everything involving the wait. We were sat in the lower room, near the wood stove (!!!!) and just happened to be the only people in that room. The white Christmas lights were still up and gave a really nice comfy vibe to an already cute, cozy little place. The music playing consisted of Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, etc... it was fantastic. Our server (who I'm guessing is one of the proprietors of the Inn) was a VERY friendly, sweet older woman who was just the right amount of chatty. She gave a great description of the nightly specials and explained that the chef prepared everything from scratch daily. The menu is fairly small, but it covers the major bases (steak, chicken, pasta, fish, soup, salad, apps) and the wine list had a pretty good selection. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms - 2 large portobella caps with house made maple-sausage stuffing, cheddar and breadcrumbs. They were delicious! The seasonings in the stuffing and the fresh peppers and onions gave it a really nice flavor. My boyfriend has the soup du jour - corn chowder. This was not an ordinary corn chowder... it was loaded with mirepoix and potatoes, more like a stew than a chowder as it was a lot of the good-bits and less of the "broth." He LOVED it. He's still talking about it 4 days later. For dinner, I had the stuffed haddock with rice pilaf and broccoli. The broccoli was perfectly steamed - bright green with a little crunch left. The rice was fluffy, tender, well-seasoned. The haddock was not served drowned in butter in a casserole, but wrapped around the stuffing with fresh lemons and a light butter over the top. It was so yummy. The boyfriend had the special half-duck roasted with a cranberry-orange glaze. It was not greasy at all, very tender and juicy and cooked perfectly. All the dishes were served with an edible orchid garnish (beautiful and tasty), a slice of kiwi, and a smile. The bread that we got to start was also wonderful - hot rolls with the right crunch on the outside and softness inside. Our server wasn't the fastest, but she was so friendly and she kept our waters filled (which is a task - we drink a lot of water) constantly and was prompt about dropping the check. Now, I work upscale dining and have for years. We are both picky about food, and I'm a stickler for service. As I said, she wasn't the fastest, but we were on vacation and in no rush. Like I also said, she was SO nice and friendly that it trumped the 2 minutes it took to come greet us. I'm sure because it was holiday weekend, they were busy. The upper dining room was full and it didn't seem like they have support staff to bus tables. I felt right at home in this place and the chef was so happy to hear how much we loved our food. We also didn't have to ask for anything (silverware, more water) because she immediately brought whatever was needed without our prompting. I love when servers notice those things. We will go back if we're ever in Littleton again. We had apps, entrees, and wine and spent $81... not too shabby if you consider the freshness, the perfect preparation, the little touches with the garnishes, and the cozy, intimate atmosphere. I just wish we'd had room for dessert!

Parking is difficult although maybe there is more parking that I did not see since it was a rainy night. I will update this section when I go back. Service was slow This was just our server. She was busy leaning and doing other chores that we waited a long time to order our food it took her so long to get back to us when it was time for desert that we did not bother The other server on the other hand was very efficient and took fantastic care of his clients. They have a special that is 2 dinners and a bottle of wine for $40.00. The items that you can choose from are marked on the menu. It was a good selection. This special is from 4 to 6 pm you may want to make a reservation as they fill up fast We had Lobster an decided to upgrade to the lazy man Lobster. The Lobster was cooked to perfection. It was a good size portion I would guess between 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb solid meat. We did not see a wine we wanted from the list but they gave us a choice of either another beverage, salad or desert. My friend chose the salad which was a rather large salad. It was one of the best salads I have seen served. Try thief home made dressing. I opted for the desert which we took with us. I had the Turtle cheesecake. It was not too sweet. A nice size portion and worth going back for more. Even though our service was slow I highly recommend going here. The food is well worth the price. They offer items from $11.95 to $30.00 The owner was quite charming and you can tell that he cares about his clients. The guests that stayed at the Beal House Inn were very happy with their accommodations. We will be back Food. 5 star Service. 3 star. See notes above Atmosphere. 5 stars.

What used to be a sketchy area is now filled with boutique shops, bustling businesses of tech and industry, arts, culture, and restaurants. One such upscale craft cocktail bar is Wolf Tree. If you didn't know it, you might feel as if you'd stepped into a hipster cocktail lounge in Brooklyn as you walk into Wolf Tree. They offer a variety of playful and inventive drinks. My friend was able to get a virgin cocktail but I just wish they had more than one single cocktail on the menu with vodka. With my choices somewhat limited, I went with a drink called "Friday I'm In Love": vodka, citrus, strawberry, mint, and bubbles. It looked beautiful when it arrived to the table and was a palate pleaser with sour, sweet, and minty flavors. They have weekly specials, classic-type cocktails, and what they call "happy meals" - a beer and shot combination. Don't fear, though, they still have Budweiser, Bud Lite, Miller High Life, and other draft beers for those feeling more traditional Upper Valley. We also ordered one of their charcuterie boards that featured local selections of cheese and meats, olives, pickled vegetables, cured mustards, and a baguette. A great selection but like most of Wolf Tree, a little on the expensive side. Overall I enjoyed my first trip to Wolf Tree and I'm glad hip places like this exist in the Upper Valley.

They are doing a wonderful job, and I am so, so glad they didn't come and go like the other restaurants in that spot before it. You probably knew that from the other reviews, but I have another reason I am writing this. I came here with my husband one night months ago, and he got a cocktail that had cherry and bourbon as the main flavors. I stole most of it from him :D. It was so good that every time I get another cocktail somewhere else, even if it is good, I just wish it was the cherry bourbon one. So, if you're there and they still have it on the menu, I suggest you get it. And if the establishment is reading this, my vote is to keep that one around.

We got our little buzzer and we were told to stay within a half mile. We sat outside across the street on a bench. We watched numerous groups of 3+ go in and not come back out, which means they were seated. When, after 40 minutes, we were called in, none of those groups were at the bar. Kinda makes you wonder. We ordered cokes. $5 each and got refills, but when the bill came was shocked to be charged for every refill! We spent more on cups of Coke than the actual effing meal!!! Ordered the steak medium. It was rare. Oh well, was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. But it was good. Buffalo chicken cheese curd fries were good, but chicken was dry. The cheesecake was not tasty at all. The burger was "mid," according to my son.

We were on vacation in NH this weekend and this place was an absolute must go. I got the half stack pancakes with plain chocolate chip, whole wheat blueberry, and their special which was oatmeal granola. All were absolutely amazing. My mom got the buttermilk blueberry and gingerbread walnut- these two are our absolute favorite combos. We also got a side of their homemade wheat toast and home fries. If you go, you must get their home fries because they are arguably the best item on the menu, besides pancakes of course lol. My dad got a ham and cheese omelette, with a choice of 2 or 3 eggs (he got 3), which comes with home fries and toast. I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. They don't take calls for a waitlist, you have to be there to put your name on a list to wait. Since we went early May, we had no wait whatsoever. Please give this place your business, they deserve it and will not disappoint!!!
