There are 3 spots to order. A coffee counter with breakfast and snack options. A pub food counter labeled "Gathering House Grille" and a large bar in the center for "the adult drinks". Feels like it would be an amazing spot for live music. Made for an usual weekend lunch spot. Lots of open seating, some funk playing on the stereo, and not much of a crowd. Service was polite and things were quite clean. I had an original smash burger and it was quite tasty. Seemed fresh and had a lot of flavor. The fries dinged it down a star. They were mostly piping hot and fresh out of the fryer with a couple room temp fries in the mix. Must have been the leftovers from an earlier batch but it was an unsettling surprise. Would be a better place to hang out with friends than to visit as a lone dinner. Hopefully I can come back some time when there's a band and a vibe.

We ordered a variety of items, including the BLT, which was very tasty on sourdough, they were willing to make me a grilled chicken tenders instead of fried along with their shoestring french fries, very tasty. The kids were pretty happy with the mac & cheese, although it looks like it was just Kraft- And they split one of the grilled cheese, which looked amazing. We had one order of pizza as well- it is a hand tossed crust versus thin. And the ham and cheese grill was also very good. Service was pretty slow, but when we told them we were trying to get to the show they picked up the pace a bit this place has been here for a long time, so I'm not sure why it doesn't already have a Yelp profile but I did go ahead and add one because this should be on your radar if you are anywhere near Lebanon. I appreciate the fact you're willing to make me something not fried :) The menus they have posted online do not match the menus that are in store as one person from our group was specifically looking for fried mushrooms from a prior menu It is worth a visit if you like comfort bar food!

It was my first time requesting a DORA to go cup to take a cocktail with me after leaving the restaurant. He was really nice about that. The food was incredible. I LOVED the Gnocchi French Onion soup, and the Bahama Mama Chicken--chicken kabobs with grilled pineapple & red peppers, tamarind Jerk BBQ sweet maduros, Cuban black beans & rice, guacamole and pickled onions. I particularly loved the warm pineapple with the Jerk sauce and how tender the chicken was. It was such a generous portion I will be having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The Florida Key's Lobster & Shrimp Roll made with Hawaiian rolls, served warm with Key West Lime butter or chilled Maine-style and salt & vinegar fries were out of this world!! The cocktails are also fantastic delicious and reasonably priced. They have a great selection and happy hour as well. I love the decor and the vibes. I fully accept that this is a safe space for bourbon people and whiskey people. (I know: Bourbon is a type of whiskey! Just go with me here.) They have a literal wall of bourbon at The Broken Barrel. Pro tip: Look at the menu and see what they offer, but then walk up to the bar and look at the wall of whiskey and bourbon, and see what they have available that day. What they have available and what's on the menu can vary. You might see some goodies on the wall that aren't listed on the menu. If I'm not drinking wine, then I'm drinking gin. Luckily for me, there was a gin drink on the menu, so I got that: The New Gatsby, which is Hendrick's gin, St. Germain, cherry and lime, served in a tall glass with lots of ice. It was refreshing, but I kind of wish it had more gin in it! It was very sweet and light, and the perfect beverage for someone who likes light, sweet drinks. A dirty martini was also ordered, which is vodka, olive juice and bleu-cheese-stuffed olives. They make a dang good dirty martini here! It's like drinking a salty salad in a glass, if you're into that sort of thing. The Broken Barrel is a dark, cozy space, and a good place to get a drink. Keep in mind that it's 21+, so adults only! I ordered the nonalcoholic Basil Needs a Break, and it was excellent. If you like basil, this drink definitely delivers. It was bright, refreshing, and very basil-forward. The service was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was the temperature inside. It was nearly 100 degrees outside, but the bar felt warm with very little air circulation. It was almost refreshing to step back into the muggy heat after leaving, which probably isn't the feeling you're hoping to give your guests. I'd definitely come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'd hope for a cooler temp next time.
