This is the best acai bowl place I have ever been to. Period. I adore acai bowls and have had them in several places in several states. Nothing even comes close to BOOMCHIA. Everything is super fresh. There is flexibility in what you can chose for the base and even a variety of granola: ancient grains, hemp, etc and you can mix them. The toppings are innovative and unlimited. Yes, you heard that right - unlimited. I found BOOMCHIA on Yelp (thank you fam) and the 5 star reviews are warranted. The decor is beautiful, it is very clean and well managed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful in describing the options and recommendations. But most of all the acai bowl was the best I ever had! I ordered the acai mixed with the boomchia pudding as my base with ancient grains/ hemp granola. Toppings: strawberries, blueberries, banana, coconut, cacao, walnuts and almond butter. There are so many more toppings than that, but I don't like my bowls too sweet or too complicated. It was so heavenly, I can't wait to go back. read more

Delicious! Playa Bowl used to be my go to but I just tried Boomchia for the first time and now I'm obsessed. The store was very clean and the staff was really friendly and helpful. There are so many options it can be overwhelming but the staff was very informative and walked me through the process. I love that there are so many customizable options and flavors. The best part is that all toppings are included. The Bowl itself was very flavorful without being overly sweet. I loved how creamy the bases were. The superfood benefits are such a huge plus. Food was good & a loooooooot of options. I don't normally eat "açaí bowls" & found theirs good My kids eat "açaí bowls" all the time & liked this a lot better. Overall it is a big step up from the normal bowl places & the ingredients are surprisingly healthy feeling. The fruit is insanely fresh, I couldn't believe how good it looked. Ginormous strawberries. They are a little slow, but I think it is kind of needed to get the quality. When the bowl is done, it is like an art piece. I felt bad messing it up by eating it. But it was too delicious to pass up. read more

Northern NJ needs this place! What a gem. They serve fresh frozen fruit bowls that are unlike anything I've had in other states. The base starts with pure frozen fruit that they make themselves with no added sugar - tastes like something you'd eat on an island. Great flavors like coconut, dragon fruit, mango, acai and more. Best part is unlimited flavors and unlimited toppings! Great for breakfast, afternoon pick me up or a healthy dessert. But the true advantage of this store is the owner Josh - he has an expertise in nutrition/health and you can tell has true passion behind every ingredient in the store. He is so welcoming and patient, he will walk you through every ingredient. Will definitely come back! read more

Since then, I've hit it up again a few times already. Ordering using the app is recommended because you can customize to your heart's desire. My husband can't have whey protein, so I'll swap that out for either the vanilla or chocolate plant protein. Also, Playa Bowl has a good variety of milk alternatives - oat, almond, cashew, and coconut (I haven't come across cashew milk often). My go-to orders are a Playola Cold Brew or an Oatmeal Bowl. I like getting the oatmeal bowls because I don't eat oatmeal frequently enough to warrant buying a whole cannister of steel cut oats from the grocery store, which will then just get stale in the pantry at home. Plus I like the toppings of each of the three variants they have (there's also a fourth option of a custom oatmeal bowl). I get their cold brew when I'm in the mood for chicory coffee.

It's cozy, genuine, and the kind of place where you can tell there's a lot of love going into what comes out of the kitchen. And speaking of that kitchen--you can see it from pretty much every seat in the house. Watching several cooks navigate what looks like an incredibly tiny space is almost mesmerizing. Somehow, they move around each other seamlessly, and the best part? The food comes out FAST. My wife went with the hummus, and it was creamy, flavorful, and delicious. But the surprise star on the side was the salted dried kale chip--such a simple little addition, but ridiculously good. Then came my pancakes. Out of this world. Small in diameter, but super thick, with a beautifully crispy exterior giving way to an interior that was fluffy, light, and airy. I've tried making this style of pancake at home countless times, and I still have absolutely no idea how to get that texture. The syrup and berries were the perfect finishing touches. Everything just worked. I've made and had soooo many pancakes in my life, and this is easily top 3 best. We had takeout dinner from Brick City Vegan in Montclair this week…read more I had a Power Bowl and a few stolen sweet potato fries from my husband's order. For my bowl, I went with a quinoa base, black eyed peas, tons of veggies, and jalapeño chipotle dressing on the side. We also ordered fruit smoothies. They have a strawberry banana and berry lime one. Fresh ingredients. Tasty. Would order again.

I LOVE BOOMCHIA. Seriously, one of my favorite spots in Montclair and my daughter is just as obsessed as I am. Everything tastes so fresh and clean, and I love that there are so many options without everything being loaded with added sugar. The staff is always so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, they work so well together, and you can tell they actually care about the experience. And the unlimited bases + toppings situation is genius. You pay one price and can basically build the bowl of your dreams without being nickel-and-dimed for every extra topping. My go-to is a mix of açaí, blue coconut and mango with chocolate granola, ALL the fruit, shredded coconut, goji berries, cacao nibs, agave and almond butter. It sounds like a lot because it is and it is PERFECTION. I also love that BOOMCHIA has gotten some well-deserved recognition. It was ranked #1 on Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in New Jersey. And honestly, I get it. If you're in Montclair and haven't tried this place yet, GO! Especially if you love açaí bowls but want something that feels fresh, customizable and actually satisfying. My daughter and I will forever be coming back! read more

Boomchia is hands down my favorite spot in the area for a good açaí/superfood bowl. What sets them apart is the fully customizable experience - with no extra charge for as many toppings as you can fit into your bowl. The bowl consists of super fresh ingredients, bursting with vibrant colors and packed with layers of flavor and satisfying texture. Every bite feels like a treat that's both nutritious and indulgent. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making each visit a great experience. Whether I'm in the mood for something light and healthy or looking for a wholesome meal replacement, Boomchia hits the mark every time. With various sizes available, it's also a fantastic option for a guilt-free dessert. read more

I've been hearing about this place through the grapevine and apparently they got #1 on yelp's top 100 places to eat in jersey.. Wow.. That's some lofty expectations to live up to! I must say.. It's crazy.. but it actually lives up to the hype. In fact I was blown away because I only knew one type of acaibowls (which I thought were actually good).. The Acai, compared to other places, is not sweet and tastes extremely artisan. You can tell with the detail and meticulous prep they put into creating the bowls. So many options for bases/toppings and best of all I felt extremely refreshed and good after! Can't recommend more and definitely coming back to try other combinations. I think I found my new addiction. read more

The staff is super friendly and welcoming, adding to the great vibes of the spot. Plus, the price point is fantastic for everything you get. Crêpes are an ultra-thin pancake common in France that can be made sweet or savory, typically rolled or folded with a variety of fillings from jam or Nutella to ham and cheese or fruits. They can be eaten for breakfast, dinner, brunch, dessert, or even a snack. Situated on Riverside Avenue in Lyndhurst, this cozy, simple hidden gem establishment offers an array of healthy options on their diverse menu, to which my partner and I returned after 8 years. Upon entering 3rd Wave Cafe, we were able to get a booth along the wall in an upbeat, casual vibe as the music was playing throughout. We decided on the Tropical Crêpe and Avocado BLT Wrap. I started with a French iced coffee that was really strong and served in a glass mug. The crêpe was fluffy, and the texture was great. I could tell all the fruit in it was fresh because it was sweet. The crepe was decorated nicely with a Nutella drizzle and whipped cream dollops that made it visually pleasing. The food, on top of being good-tasting, had a great presentation. The price was reasonable and the portion a healthy size. The service was friendly and not rushed; our server was Am. We left feeling satisfied and content, and we can recommend returning to explore other menu items.
