One of the more authentic and solid korean restaurants if I may say so, and I just may thanks to my korean heritage. Along with Se Jong in Campsie, this place -was once called "Boom Bi Na"- is a bit of a gem even if there are dozens of Korean restaurants to choose from in this crowded and heavily populated part of Sydney.
I used to come here with all sorts of people, mostly before the renovation, and always had fun eating here. I would personally recommend: galbi jim -bone-in, stewed beef with chunky radishes and carrots topped with chopped spring onions, sesame seeds, and egg scramble strips served in a hot stone bowl- , any of their hotpots -e.g., boo dae hotpot-, and sizzling spicy squid. Their side dishes are varied and tasty -with complimentary refills-, and I also always fancied their cool barley tea served in place of water. It's a cozy space with about a dozen tables, but has own bathroom.
I hope they'll still be around by the time I next visit Sydney! read more
