Copy General is an outstanding print company! We used them for our recent D.C. conference where we…read moreneeded programs, name badges, foam core poster signage, custom post cards, mirror cling stickers, motivational posters, more stickers, branded envelopes, calendars, and even our run of show. They were able to work on insane deadlines - like 2 days before the event to print 350 of these things, and everything turned out absolutely perfectly. They even delivered! Working with them was super easy, even though we were ordering everything sight unseen from across the country. Laura and Tammy are super accommodating, even sending me photos of our physical program proof, happily adding in last minute requests with special items, and making everything regarding print a breeze for us. Oh, and their prices... can't be beat! Very reasonable cost for everything, especially compared to big chains (for our simple excel sheets for our team and volunteers to use, one of the big chains wanted 35 TIMES the amount CG quoted us!). We love Copy General and wish they had a California branch too! Luckily they ship :)

I hate Kinkos. I mean, I really, really REALLY hate Kinkos. The only thing they can guarantee 100%…read moreis that they'll choke in the clutch. When I first started my current job some years back, we'd need to crank out various print jobs (training binders, spiral-bound project reports, all that officey stuff), and naturally, when you think "printing," you think "Kinkos." But they'd always manage to screw things up or lose jobs entirely, and usually have a surly attitude while doing it. "(sigh!) You want your job? Well too freakin' bad. You know, I'm only here until my garage band, Evil Commie Nazi Parents, takes off. I SO do not need you customers right now." I always wanted to write a letter to the CEO of Kinkos. "Dear CEO. I had a very bad experience at Kinkos the other day. They greeted me politely. If that wasn't bad enough, I came in with a very simple print job and, adding insult to injury, they followed my instructions to the letter. This is not up to my usual low expectations of your company. I demand to know what you plan on doing to remedy the situation. XOXO, Jason C." Okay, so one day, I was tasked with making some binders that were really important, and I was leery about taking them to Kinkos. One of my coworkers suggested Copy General. Probably one of the five best pieces of advice I've ever gotten! Unlike your typical Kinkos wage slave, you get the idea that the people here really like what they do (in fact, I usually see the same people there, even after several years). They always go over what it is I'm asking them to do, and won't hesitate to call if an issue comes up, even if it's seemingly minor. I recall one instance where the job I asked them to do, and what they tooled around with, was (literally) shades of grey. But they noticed subtle issues with my request and played around with it first to see if they could make things better, and called me to make sure I was okay with it before doling out $500 nonrefundable dollars for artistic merit. The verdict: every time I drop off a job here, I know it's going to come out AOK. Even on a tight deadline, they're quick with cost and time estimates. And if there's ever an issue, I'm notified about it before they decide to print out 1500 copies because "uh, dude, I totally remember you asking for this stuff to be put in last page first. Those ink smears on the cover? Uh, that was like, on the jpeg you gave us dude."
