I'm still thinking about her spring pea soup with truffle oil. Every course was fantastic. But Kualani is not just a chef, she is a true hostess. She and her partner Richard came into our AirBnb and handled literally EVERYTHING. She brought beautiful plates and flatware so we didn't have to rely on the AirBnb's stash. She decorated the table. She even made my niece a grilled cheese sandwich while she was prepping. And then, at the end of one of the best meals of my life, they cleaned everything up and left the kitchen better than they found it. Having worked in restaurants and catering for many years, I know first-hand that chefs are not always hospitable. It is a completely different skill set and it's the reason restaurants need a front-of-house staff. But Kualani is the rare exception that is truly capable of curating a perfect evening. We booked this room months in advance. When we arrived our room was not ready. We got to the…read morelocation at 4:30pm. When we got our room it was dirty and very outdated. When we would shower the tub wouldnt drain. So you stand in your dirty water. There was no towels only hand towels. When I complained to the front desk they told me they would change my room. That I was on one of the floors that hasn't been remodeled yet. I was told I would be getting a different room. At 6pm I came to inquire about my room change since I was told they would have plenty of open rooms after checkout. When I went to the desk the man once again said they were full. I explained it was told I was going to be moved rooms and that the lady that was working said she would save me a better room once they were cleaned. The man at the desk explained he could change my room but it would be the same un-renovated floor. I also selected a room with a plaza view didnt get that either. And that was an upcharge. This was my first time home in 3 years. I tried going above and beyond by selecting what I thought would be a nice stay. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE LOBBY! The rooms are trash! Save your money stay at one of that casinos or even the double tree next door. ​​
