The three others in our class had a range of experience in previous shops. The beginner badge class gets access to a ton of tools in the shop, and we each made a coat/hat/key rack. Make offers a ton of other workshops and members can use the facilities they are "badged" in (once you take a workshop you are badged in that area). So far I've enjoyed being able to drop by and get involved right away, for example I was able to get questions answered right away like where to buy materials locally. Once I said I was interested in volunteering Cia and I started working on getting kilns of all kinds going after I mentioned that I may want to do kiln-fired glass (sometimes there's stuff I want to fire but glass place won't let me put in 'foreign material'). I also got contact info from a glass artist if I wanted to take a group class on how to do stained glass since I haven't learned that skill yet. I enjoyed the woodshop tutorial/re-fresher led by Christy Georg who was funny and engaging. Am impressed that not only do they have a planer, jointer and a nice safe Sawstop, but they also have a fancy 'Shaper Origin' tool and (in the metalshop) a Dynatorch Super B 8'x10' CNC Plasma Cutter?!? I can't even dream of what I would do with that thing... Same goes with if I needed to lasercut something that is 38" x 100"... which I don't need to do but yeah... I guess that's possible to do that there... Booking was really straight forward after becoming a member, I could've reserved a spot for the woodshop for a whole four hours right after signing up (Which is impressive considering that right now due to CoVID, the space is limited to 2 people working in that space.)

Their stalls and runs are spacious and clean (water troughs are regularly scrubbed, and poop is scooped daily, 365 days a year, come rain, hail, snow or sunshine). The staff are competent and friendly and the boarders are fantastic - nice to board at a barn with so little drama! Facilities include four outdoor arenas of varying size, round pen, a jumping arena, an obstacle course, wash stand, club house, and secure tack rooms. There is also easy access to local trails. Horses are fed twice daily unless additional feeds are requested by the owner, and turned out at least twice a week. They are also checked on every night.

I had this place on my list to visit and I was very excited to visit once I seen it was close to the coffee shop I was visiting. The lady that was working this day was so very sweet. I came as soon as she opened and she gave me a nice little tour and told me a lot about the artist and was very informative about his work. It was a hot day when I went and she offered me some water while I looked around. The sculptures were very impressive. They had moving parts and the size and scale of some of them were so insanely impressive. I really enjoyed browsing through this gallery. There was also a tv that had a video playing of the artist and the history of his work. The outside gallery was nice as well to just walk around and see all the beautiful sculptures. I so badly wanted to buy a mini sculpture he had of a dolphin but I was on a work trip and had no space in my luggage to transport it back. She let me know that things could be shipped out as well. She also told me the gallery was shutting down soon and would be moved to a different location near the artists residence in the city I believe. I hope that I am able to purchase from here in the future. Would love to own one of these one of a kind sculptures by Prescott.

I've reviewed two other Meow Wolf venues: Convergence Station in Denver and the location in…read moreGrapevine, Texas. I made a special trip to Santa Fe from Denver just to get a gander at this one. This is the original. As I said in a separate review, Denver's convergence station is the largest at 90K square feet. But it felt more sprawling and convoluted than the smaller Texas and NM venues. I haven't seen the supermarket themed Vegas venue. This is smaller than Denver, but more coherent. Still a lot to touch and do and see. Weird things to connect. And again, if you've seen other Meow Wolfs, you'll understand all others better. In true Meow Wolf style, brilliant, bright, jubilant art that you can lay your hands all over. Stair cases to climb. Tunnels to crawl through. Someone else compared it to a colorful real life board game, and that tracks. It was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. Like Denver, you can grab a drink at the bar and sip booze as you stroll. There are puzzles to solve here (I confess, I didn't have the fortitude or patience, but you can spend all day here solving riddles). You can go again and again and find new things every time.
