The side salad was good, and came before the meal. A variety of dressings were available and was served on the side. The coleslaw was the creamy kind (instead of vinegar) and was good as well. The ribs were tender and generously sized. Even with the half rack I ended up taking some home. I wasn't a huge fan of the bbq sauce served on the side but they had a great rub on them so they didn't really need sauce. They also had a full drink menu, complete with local beers and 30 oz margaritas. Overall, a hearty lunch in a great location.

We held our wedding at The View Event Center, which is a site owned and managed by Simply Decor &…read moreEvents. The location is gorgeous, and was just right for our wedding. When we arrived, the chairs were uncovered and the tablecloths had deep creases in them. Be aware that the basic package doesn't include the chair covers (even if you were told it does!) and includes their least-expensive tablecloths. Despite this, the manager on site the day of our event very kindly put covers on the chairs and swapped the tablecloths out. We had no problems with the venue or the staff until the manager left. Once she was no longer present, the staff began clearing tables, not just of trash from dinner, but also by throwing away wedding favors, florals, and other decor we had out. Many of our guests began leaving because they thought the event was over, even though it still had 2 1/2 hours to go. We ended up leaving early, ourselves, because we had no guests left! We also pre-paid for some wine vouchers for our cash bar. The bartender requested that we hand out the vouchers, so we put a friend in charge of them. At the end of the night, we still had 20 vouchers left. The bartender charged our guests full price for glasses of wine if they didn't have a voucher; this was after asking us to hand out the vouchers rather than keep them at the bar for free use by the guests. We feel double-charged for those drinks, and were offered no means of making this right, since it isn't the bartender's job to keep track of the vouchers that were pre-paid for. We frustratingly overpaid by $100 for wine that the bartender can now re-sell at another time. Overall, the management is phenomenal, and our experience was a good one. The venue is beautiful, and I'd highly recommend a walkthrough for anyone interested. Just some suggestions: make sure everything you're promised is written out to the letter on the invoice, don't have an evening event here, where the manager might be clocking out partway through, and go with a strictly cash or strictly open bar, DO NOT buy the vouchers, because they're not afraid to double-dip for the drinks that are already covered by those.

Also, i sent them an email and didn't get a response for four days. Their website says they work by appointment only but I'm not sure how you're supposed to schedule an appointment if they don't answer, or why anyone would even want to give business to a company that operates in this fashion. When I did finallllly get a response back from them, I asked if I could come in and see their available linens for wedding venues and the answer they provided me was "We won't know our openings for Monday until Sunday night." I'm not sure what that's suppose to mean. Geez thanks very helpful!NOT!!!! Do yourself a favor don't bother using this company for any of your party planning needs .

My companion hates vinegary salad dressings, but the side salad that came with the Tamale, was lovely, just the right amount of oil and umami flavors, and only a hint of maybe lemon? for the acid. we both enjoyed it quite a lot which is saying something for a salad. The tamale. was cute in its pooked open wrapper. we left it inside and quite enjoyed picking out the delightful masa. my only complaint was i think we should have asked for spoons. as a fork is not the best way to pick a tamale out of the wrapper. (or we could have dumped it out. but once again it was cute as served. I would have preferred meat to the tamale. but really enjoyed it as it was too. Lastly on the way out we got a choke cherry tart, and a butterscotch bunt cake to go.. which we ate later.. both were great! We will need to return and try more dishes. and the desert Empanada, (they were sold out) and likely i will update to a 5 star. Fyi looks like they kinda run as two different kitchens, Snapdragon Tea, in the mornings, and Mila's Mesa at night. definitely going to have to go and try out one of the tea time reservations.

I've been back a couple of times since and the food never disappoints. The butternut and sage bucatini pasta is delish. The chicken posole verde has to be the best comfort food in town! And the Peruvian chicken is to die for! Other favorites of mine are the blue cornbread and the biscochitos. A couple of times I've been pleasantly surprised by the music performances Mila's Mesa offers in its simple and homey atmosphere. For me, the attentive service from Emma and Alex - my servers on different occasions - complemented the excellent food and warm environment. Can't recommend Mila's Mesa enough! I think it's a great new asset and option in Albuquerque 's Nob Hill!
