We held our wedding at The View Event Center, which is a site owned and managed by Simply Decor &…read moreEvents. The location is gorgeous, and was just right for our wedding. When we arrived, the chairs were uncovered and the tablecloths had deep creases in them. Be aware that the basic package doesn't include the chair covers (even if you were told it does!) and includes their least-expensive tablecloths. Despite this, the manager on site the day of our event very kindly put covers on the chairs and swapped the tablecloths out. We had no problems with the venue or the staff until the manager left. Once she was no longer present, the staff began clearing tables, not just of trash from dinner, but also by throwing away wedding favors, florals, and other decor we had out. Many of our guests began leaving because they thought the event was over, even though it still had 2 1/2 hours to go. We ended up leaving early, ourselves, because we had no guests left! We also pre-paid for some wine vouchers for our cash bar. The bartender requested that we hand out the vouchers, so we put a friend in charge of them. At the end of the night, we still had 20 vouchers left. The bartender charged our guests full price for glasses of wine if they didn't have a voucher; this was after asking us to hand out the vouchers rather than keep them at the bar for free use by the guests. We feel double-charged for those drinks, and were offered no means of making this right, since it isn't the bartender's job to keep track of the vouchers that were pre-paid for. We frustratingly overpaid by $100 for wine that the bartender can now re-sell at another time. Overall, the management is phenomenal, and our experience was a good one. The venue is beautiful, and I'd highly recommend a walkthrough for anyone interested. Just some suggestions: make sure everything you're promised is written out to the letter on the invoice, don't have an evening event here, where the manager might be clocking out partway through, and go with a strictly cash or strictly open bar, DO NOT buy the vouchers, because they're not afraid to double-dip for the drinks that are already covered by those.

Tried them out with a friends group, we wound up trying their Charcuterie board, several rounds of the amazing pretzel knots, and several of the meat pies (think awesome pot pie! not fast may have taken well over an hour.. and another 20 minutes to cool... but wow!!) Service was great, i think everyone involved in the place came by and helped us out at some time or another. several taster flights were tried, and i think we all found something to like. Glad we grabbed a rideshare and we were able to avoid the slightly chaotic parking.

Reservations go in one hour time slots and there are 3 rooms at a time to choose from with crowbars, hammers, and various characters on the wall. (I wish they could expand their hours more to even include Saturday morning sessions). Extras can include anything from keyboards (slightly more) and pictures of politicians (ahem, the governor). Service was friendly and you can even get a free bottled water upon checking in on FB/yelp. Perfect stress relief, especially for a year such as this. And quite the workout too, as my arms are still sore the next day lol. Great location with other activities and the Craftroom nearby (definitely try the 505 pizza!). We were able to rebook the session the same evening. We came back in the appropriate dress code. We were able to pick out all the glassware. The prices were right. I can go on and on! The problem is the venue itself! No coolers are allowed and nothing to drink whatsoever is allowed. No sunscreen is allowed and any other items are not allowed to be brought in. However, each beer, which is a tall boy, is $20. And if you wanna bring water in, you can't so you have to buy their water, which is also stupidly expensive! Some shade was provided, but not much. Now mind you, this is in the middle of August, which is Albuquerque's hottest month of the year. Just waiting in line to get into the venue, there were two people being attended to by the medics For what would appeared to be heat stroke or heat exhaustion. They are setting themselves up for liability with so limited resources or attendees being allowed to bring in at the very least water! Bottom line, this place makes you feel like you're getting raped because everything is a cash grab!

Gerome, Patrick, Sophie, Gabby, and so many others that I ran into over the 3 days really knew how to make us feel at home. The course was in great shape, even after a hailstorm 4" of rain the previous day! I also forgot my range finder and called them up later that night and they had it at the front desk for me, such a relief too cause mines expensive, as most are. Lastly, the food was excellent in the restaurant, we got the steak dip with sweet potato fries, and you get the best view ever while eating there (see pic). Overall a really great experience and highly recommend them if you're in the area.
