Dr. Vernon is the BEST pediatrician. In fact, I wish she could be our family doctor. On more than…read moreone occasion, I have asked her for referrals of doctors in other specialties because I trust her so much. I have also gotten many of my family members to change pediatricians to Dr. Vernon - they have all loved her. She really cares about her patients and makes them feel comfortable. My son is always excited to go see Dr. Vernon and the staff. She does a great job talking to the patients and not just the parents. She also schedules enough time for appointments to thoroughly discuss what is going on with your child. Last winter, my daughter was continually getting sick with fevers and congestion. I was able to speak with Dr. Vernon in the middle of the night when I was worried about my daughter's breathing. That winter was the only time I doubted Dr. Vernon. I thought she was missing something serious. She listened to me and did additional blood tests which (thankfully) didn't show anything wrong. She assured me the sickness should go away in the warm weather...and she was right! My daughter has rarely gotten sick since the weather got better. I would (and have) recommended Dr. Vernon to anyone with children.

Dr. Yohanna Vernon has a good bedside manner and is fun for kids when they are healthy, but when we…read morereally needed her help as our pediatrician she did not fulfill her responsibilities to us or to public health by 1) not advising a COVID test when appropriate, and 2) not providing any guidelines of care or a video appointment when my daughter got COVID. Dr. Yohanna Vernon's behavior exhibited that she had not ever thought through how to deal with COVID patients, which is surprising and deeply concerning given the prevalence of COVID at this time, and the responsibility that she as a health care provider has to help prevent spread of COVID and serious disease. The long story: My daughter got COVID from daycare, and when I called because she woke up with a cough that scared me, Dr. Vernon told me that "croup was going around" and told me to only worry if she had trouble breathing outside of coughing fits or started turning blue. From this I mistakenly understood that "croup" was a distinct virus that affected children and that I should monitor my daughter for signs of difficulty breathing. However, it turned out the "croup" was COVID, I found out when I got symptoms several days later and decided to test us both. It is disappointing that she did not suggest my daughter get a COVID test, but it was truly poor medical care when I called to ask for care guidelines and got none and did not get a call back for 4 days, and then when I called again I got to listen to a litany of excuses for why this was not within their "triage" procedure, that I should have made an appointment (but did not advise this until after the fact, didn't offer a video appointment, and then when it came down to it didn't want a COVID patient in clinic, of course), I should have looked online (the first thing that comes up is to call your primary care, so this was circular and confusing), I should have known with "common sense" to get a COVID test/wear a mask before I got symptoms/not wear a mask after we tested positive/etc, I should have... and... we needed to find a new pediatrician. Instead of this unprofessional behavior, I feel strongly it would be appropriate to have a clear set of guidelines that could be given over the phone by front office or emailed, and to provide video care for patients with COVID symptoms.

I called first, should have been my first hint. It went straight to a voice mail. When I call an office I want to speak to someone, not "record your message after the tone". After about 45 minute wait a woman come in took my blood pressure and temperature. 15 minutes later the guy comes in, doesn't even ask what is wrong, takes a look in my throat, says " yep looks sore ". He asked how long I'd been like this, I told him going on two weeks. Then he says we could put you on a steroid to see if that might help and a pearle, ie: benzonate for the cough. He asked i I had a COVID test? I said no do you provide them for free? No they're not free. I said when did they start charging for them? The hospital always gives them for free. He said then go to the hospital. There's a pharmacy also in this building so I had him fill those prescriptions for benzonate and prednisone. When I picked that prescription up the pharmacist suggested that I take vitamin D so I bought a bottle of that too. Went home took the drugs, only the sore throat went away. Still have the cough. So, after all that I am not impressed with their "people skill". The only friendly one was the gal that took my BP. I won't be returning.

In the ambulance they performed three "tests" on me: #1. They took my blood pressure. #2. They used a pulse oximeter. #3. They looked in my eyes with a flashlight. At the hospital the did exactly zero tests on me. I saw the doctor for about five minutes (this hospital is about the size of my apartment so I don't know where else he had to be, but he was in a hurry). They did no tests. No X-rays, no CTs. The verdict was that I had a sizeable bump on the head and they gave me two ibuprofen and sent me on my way. They said I'd probably wake up sore in the morning. Eight days later, after feeling terrible, I went into urgent care back home and they immediately diagnosed me with a traumatic brain injury and ordered X-rays and CTs. Very luckily I was not bleeding in my brain. The only reason I'm not giving this hospital one star is because the nurse was a nice older guy who brought me a Coke. Everything else was abysmal.

If I could leave zero stars I would. He has always been rude to me for some reason. On this…read moreparticular visit, he was down right horrible to me and my elderly mom. I had recently been released from a behavioral health stay. I was there for 8 days. He said to me that a normal stay is 3-4 days and made me feel bad for staying that long. I initially went to the ER because my blood pressure was very high and I was having a panic attack. He said he would give me something now and would not be sending me home with anything, like I was seeking. The problem is he did not give me anything and left me sitting there crying for 4 hours. He had the counselor come talk to me. I told the counselor that the behavioral health did not give me enough medicine until I was supposed to follow up with my PCP. After all this Bo Clark came in sat in front of me and told me this was NOT an emergency. He told my mom that she was wrong for asking another doctor that she knows if she could help, because he wasn't helping me, and she loves me, so she was advocating. Then he said that this particular Doctor probably would not want to treat me anyways, with all my issues! And then he reneged, and said well she probably would. He knew he was wrong for even saying that. I was crying so hard after that. It was an emergency to me! I was not feeling well at all. He never treated me, in the 4 hours I was there. He is so rude to me. He was my primary for a while. Years ago, he once diagnosed me with shingles, then at my follow up he said it was staph and I could go back to work. I was a cook at that time. Like really?!! Dislike me Rick "Bo" Clark, no skin off my back. But people deserve to know the truth about you. Your bedside manner is below par. And to leave me there crying, not listening to my initial complaint, and tell me its not and emergency, and yell at me and my elderly mom? What's wrong with you? I just don't understand the way you treated me, or didn't treat me.
