I don't know what the opposite of a green thumb is, but I have that. I've killed pretty much every plant I've had, which made me a little nervous to come to this place. But it lived up to the rave reviews I'd heard about it. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a staff member who was kind and walked us through every step of the process in so much detail. There were three different types of trees to choose from in 2-3 different sizes. You want to make sure that whichever one you get will get enough sunlight (some of them don't need quite as much). After that we got to choose our planter and go through the process of getting it in the dirt and opening up the roots--again, getting instruction and helpful tips the whole time. We also got to trim our trees into the shapes we wanted. After that, we got to decorate, which may have been my favorite part. Most stuff is included, but you can also get a tiny bench or another little statue to add to your landscape. They also offer support for your bonsai if you have any questions afterward. Might have to use it since jury's still out on whether my tree will make it (despite my best efforts so far).

Wow this was such a cute idea!! This is a cute little shop in Pleasant Grove for picking and building a bonsai plant. This is perfect for a date night, friend date, or a family event. The pricing is a little high but typical bonsais are around that price so keep that in mind. You pick a type of bonsai (3 to choose from), you pick a pot (sooooo many to choose from - size, color, and shape). Once you do pick it, McKenna and Preston instruct you on how to put your bonsai into the pot + trimming. Lastly you get to decorate! So many options to pick from and you can be creative. McKenna and Preston are so nice and knowledgeable! Here are the typical fees: $15 studio fee Plants range from $25-60 Pots range from $25-60

This was such a fun family date night, we got to customize everything. We got to pick our plant, pot and decorated it ourselves! My kids and husband enjoyed this so much 10 of 10 experience, I'd recommend this to everyone!

Here is the portulacaria afra plant costing $115 plant and pot.

My wife and I had a great time here! We highly recommend the experience of creating not just a memory, but a memory that you make last through your care and time that you provide for your tree. We did this on a double date making it that much more enjoyable! Being able to have a group to chat with while repotting, shaping, and decorating your tree. The only complaints we have: We wish the entry fee was applied towards the price of the tree you choose (possibly with the trees $50 or more) as some companies do with their similar style businesses. We believe that it would make the pricing that much more budget friendly when it comes to the bigger trees. Other than that, it was an amazing time and, in my opinion, was fairly worth the price and definitely worth the experience!

This was such a fun activity and learning experience! We loved every second and feel confident in taking care of our tree after! Highly recommend for a fun date night.

The class was really informative and we love the plants we brought home! They helped us each step of the way and answered all of our questions.

This was such a fun date night! My husband and I had a great time picking out our bonsai and decorating them. The couple who own the business are extremely kind. I emailed them a few weeks after we went in because my husbands bonsai was dying and they gave advice on how to revive it. It is a little bit pricey, we spent around $150 because the little things add up. We both added a little Buddha and that was $3 extra each. I would still recommend trying it out! It's a small business for now but I can see it growing as word gets out.

I had the best experience here!! You can tell the staff loves their jobs and knows their stuff! This was such a neat experience I would definitely recommend!

This was such a fun date-night! We created our own pot and learned how to care for them. The host was absolutely amazing! Will definitely plan to fo this again!!

This is such a cute place and such a fun experience! The couple that run it are the cutest and did a great job explaining everything. It was fun to learn about bonsai trees as the walk you through caring for them. I love that you get to pick out your own tree and pot and decorations to make it unique. They have a lot of variety and lots of different sizes so it can fit anyone's budget. This is an experience you don't want to miss!

Had a great night! Preston and McKenna were so kind and patient in working with our large group. Loved doing an activity with our family that was unique and we even got to bring home something beautiful to remember the night!

I think it's probably becoming more known for the wedding/event venue portion, as we rolled up to…read moreshop the nursery and the doors weren't open and they tried to direct us to a party. But maybe that's just because I visited in the early winter and who shops a nursery then? In any case, once we made our way inside, it became clear they're making moves to up the adorbs factor and move to be way more than just a pot-em-up nursery. The main retail area here is lovely, with gifts, books, and loads of home decor. They've put some money into this, and while it still needs to be filled out a bit more, you can spend some time cruising here and be happy. From the main area, we made our way to the houseplant section. While there are a lot of expecteds there, I was surprised to see so many of them. We only found a few harder-to-find ferns (something way down the line in the birds nest family) but plenty of those old school ficus. I suppose the ficus sell, but with so many hot new ficus right now, I just was surprised at the quantity of the old schoolers. There are succulents as well, though thankfully not a bajillion. I liked many of the containers, especially the wee ones, and prices there were reasonable. We ended up with three ferns, one of which is now struggling due to a long vacation and a lack of water (my bad) but many of the plants there in the greenhouse needed a good amount of deadheading and some of the poor monstera were flagging, and generally it seems they probably need someone dedicated and diligent in the watering and upkeep. It could stand a little freshening up. I'd like to come back in the warm months to see what kind of trouble I could get into, but I still had a nice time and the other two ferns are going strong; the third has my full faith it will bounce back.

I lived at Cortland Ridge for one year…read more I had a one bed/one bath that had a huge storage closet, full size washer and dryer, a roman tub and a nicely sized walk-in closet in the bedroom. It was a nice apartment. The rent was cheap but normal pricing for the area. However, I made it very clear that I wanted an apartment on the first floor and that was promised to me when I signed the lease. When I went in on moving day to pick up the keys, they had switched me to an apartment on the third floor. I have a disability and stairs aren't my friend. They said they didn't have anything available on the first floor. Since I didn't have the money to move into a new place, I sucked it up and the stairs killed me the year I lived there. When I moved in, there was old egg on the kitchen floor and dead bugs and dirt in the kitchen lighting. They took care of it right away but that should have been addressed before moving in. One day in the winter, I was in my bedroom and saw a giant bubble in the wall. More sprouted shortly thereafter. A pipe was leaking and filling the wall with water. I had to move all of my belongings out of my bedroom and on the opposite side of the wall in the living room for the repairs that took several days. The office didn't do anything to make it up to me. Wifi is available through the office. Garages are available for extra rent. Pets weren't allowed when I lived here. There's a pool and playground area. They don't do any shoveling or de-icing in the winter for the carports or in front of the garages. They occasionally sprinkled salt on the walks and would plow through the main road in the complex sometimes. Be prepared to shovel your own stairs and around your own cars. Super strict on cleaning when moving out. I hired a cleaning service and gave them the move out sheet. When I did the walk through with a leasing agent, she wanted to dock me $50 per window for not having the dirt cleaned out of the window tracking so I grabbed a cloth and did it right there for her.

It's quiet during the day and normally by 9-10pm. There's plenty of parking. If you need companions or service animals they make it easy on you even though it's a no pet location. The maintenance crew is wonderful. The start snow removal early in the day. We are always having filter changes and battery checks which makes me feel safer. All the windows and doors to the balcony let's in a lot of sum and beautiful views. The helicopters and ambulances aren't that annoying or loud. It's a place that is definitely worth stopping in for a tour if you are looking for an apartment.
