Really this nursery deserves 4.5 stars. Best selection in Utah County. If you have a new yard with…read morenothing on it, this is your nursery. They give discounts to customers that buy plants in bulk. Also they have a fair return policy. If they plant dies within a year, you can bring in your dead plant and receipt and get 50% of the money you spent on that plant towards a new one. They have some of the most knowledgeable personnel in Utah County. If someone doesn't know the answer to your question, they will look it up or find someone that does know the answer. The prices are very comparable to all of the other nurseries. The store is great and they have acres of selection. Sometimes it's a little hard to find the plant you want because they have such a huge selection. They have done a good job trying to fix that by laying it out in a shopper-friendly way. Each year they get better at this. Why not five stars? 1) The gravel is not stroller friendly 2) It can be difficult to find someone to help you on Friday nights and Saturdays. If you want help go on weekdays before school gets out. 3) They go through a lot of plants so they run out sometimes and you have to wait for a new shipment to show up.

It's hard to say what they are like when most people visit--because visiting in the middle of the…read moreafternoon in the middle of the week in the middle of summer hardly gives you a feeling for what peak spring is like. But if my visit is any indication at all, this is probably a family-run spot with nice folks doing their best to bring you good flowers. The world of plant stores/nurseries has taken a turn for the charming lately, with some even doubling as wedding and reception centers. Interiors are being redone with very Instaworthy layouts and all the modern trends. That's not the case here. This is where you go for your bedding plants. This is where you go for a nice tree. This is where you go to peruse the perennials to just cruise and find something you like. I'm told that earlier in the season they have a nice selection of veggies so that would for sure be worth checking out. I'm not sure if the wintertime brings more houseplants, succulents, cacti, or other on-trend plants, but for now that selection was pretty limited. It's not their specialty, and that's A-OK as long as you know. I found the help to be very friendly, and they seemed to focus a lot on making the plants as affordable as possible, which is always appreciated. They were kind enough to remark on all the recent markdowns and take the time to show a few favorites. All in all, it's a pretty straightforward spot with a lot of the likely suspects, and if you cruise around town looking at nurseries as I do, you'll probably find something interesting here, too.

There was some confusion on the delivery time and the driver dumped the load when I was not home. I was very upset because I asked for a different time so I could be home. The dump location was going to make me move the mulch further than it should have. The driver was just doing what the paper work showed and it wasn't his fault. I went to Manager/Owner and explained what happened. He was quick to make it work by sending a tractor and 2 guys to move the load where it should have been. They could have told me "to deal with it" but instead he made it 100% correct. Sorry to that driver that got an earful from me and thanks to the owner that has a loyal customer now.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Thrive Nursery…read more I recently spent over $300 on flowers and plants, including a hydrangeas that cost $53 each. Within 24 hours of planting it, the hydrangea was already dying. I called and left a voicemail but never received a return call. When I called again the next day, I was told, "We don't warranty plants, only trees." What disappointed me most wasn't just the policy--it was how it was handled. As I tried to explain what had happened, I was repeatedly interrupted with, "We don't warranty plants." There was no attempt to listen to my concerns or offer any kind of customer service or goodwill solution. If there is no warranty on plants, especially on expensive items, that should be clearly explained to customers before they make a purchase. I spent over $300 expecting healthy, quality plants and at least some level of support if something went wrong within the first 24 hours. Unfortunately, the lack of communication, the unwillingness to listen, and the poor customer service have left me very disappointed. Based on this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. You've lost a loyal customer.
