On the one hand, if you want a local company to handle things for you and you want one of the…read morebiggest little companies around in the sign and banner and display marketing biz, you've got the right folks. But the bigness of the company almost works against them. One of the reasons I often choose local companies is because of the kind of service and attention I get. When you order with them, there's a real push to do it online. That's great if you know what you need and what you're doing, but for someone who doesn't have this stuff made every couple of months it could be difficult and you may find the service at a smaller shop to be more up your alley. In a world where online printing companies are now super, super, UBER cheap it's often going to be more affordable to just send it off to Texas or California, even with shipping. I mean, if I'm submitting it all online anyway it becomes a pure price game. The good news is that they are local and real people do work there, so you can work a little closer with them if you need to. They've been around a long time and can handle just about any size project. And it's not just banners--they do tablecloths, car wraps, stand up banners, window banners (decals? wraps?) and a whole host of other promotional or products. Give the website a whirl if you're curious, but realize that if you're going to get a banner or project done just online, you can do a little research and save some money. Hopefully they'll be willing to walk you through it if you go in or pick up the phone.

After manning a table at a couple of events I was hooked and sought to improve the professionalism of our presence. The first thing I needed was signage with a stand. A Google search led me to Sugar House which had the largest selection of banner fabrics and stands, I designed what at that time was an awesome piece, they did a beautiful job of printing it, it arrived in plenty of time for my next event, and the durable banner and stand continue to serve me well. Their after-sale service was incredible - I received several emails asking if everything was to my satisfaction and requesting a photo of my banner in action. This photo is still on their website! They're not the cheapest, but you can't beat their quality, selection and service. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them for full-service banner work.

Unlike other UPS Stores I've been to, this location seems to always have at least two employees working, sometimes three, to keep things moving. They do have an Amazon self-serve return kiosk, so that also helps. Good location for me, so I'll keep using them. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

They kept talking to each other as if I wasn't there. I went out to my car to get it and struggled with it to get the door open and in on the counter. I told them again it was heavy for me, and the younger guy said "oh that's ok just set it here." Are you kidding? I'm older with a bad shoulder. This is why I like doing my returns to Amazon at kohls. They'll help me so much better. Someone needs to train these men on how to give great customer service. To everyone.

Of all the typical places, i.e. jewelry stores, trophy engravers, etc. This is what I encountered (one or more of these). 1. It'd have to be sent out. 2. It was lazer engraved (a very shallow etch that burns changing the color of letters to black). I have nothing against this per se but it's not what I wanted on the lighter. 3. Fonts are very limited selection. I wanted more unique custom. 4. I wanted the placement very different then horizontal/vertical. I drove by the place that yelp had listed and I found out that Dave has moved. I finally go old school and CALL. I left a message and he got right back to me. After telling him what I had and what I wanted he told me the charge is $6 a letter $60 min very quickly because a lot of locals hang up on him. So basically you're getting 10 letters for $60 and then it goes $6 per. He gave me his resume over the phone which is quite impressive- and the method he uses to engrave- old school with 20th century modernity. He takes clients locally by appt only. The bulk of his business is people shipping THEIR precious items to him. He was very accommodating in arranging an appt for me given my rush circumstance- he had a heart. When I arrived at his workshop he apologized for state of his workshop- Martha Stewart does not live there. No, it's what you'd expect from a real tradesman. We sit at his desk while he analyzes the lighter and gives me a book of scripts to peruse. One caught my eye but he says that will be extra (shading and such), but I didn't want that one EXACTLY. I came up with an amalgamation via the book and my description. It was font ala carte :-) We settled in for the lengthy precision placement of the characters. It wasn't traditional by any stretch. I specifically wanted a character to be halved on the lid and the body. Preparation was the bulk of the time. Then the actual engraving takes place. He loves to talk about his craft and you can tell he absolutely takes great pride in his finished one of a kind pieces. So when the lighter was finished, I was absolutely blown away by the beauty. It had the perfect amount of depth to compliment it's age, no puddles or pooling. It is gorgeous. When I presented it to my husband (who could find fault with Michelangelo). He loved it. Told me like 5x over days randomly as he used it. Even remarked that his pistols (engraved ones) look like a 5 yo did them. Which Dave does those too. His prices are NOT cheap, take your cheap stuff to the stock guys. His is the kind you take your priceless, heirloom or sentimental items to. He does odd shaped items, scenes and anything you can imagine. His facebook name IMHO is not befitting the scope of his offerings. www.facebook.com/DuckBandWeddingRings
