I blame bonobos the brand because they fail to train their staff or take action against the staff that's misbehaved and unhelpful. On 2 separate occasions I visited the store and had HORRIBLE experiences. the staff is rude, inconsiderate and talk as if they are doing you a favor by just acknowledging you. Don't ever buy this brand. It is a scam. It's a marketing scam. They lasted less than three months. Before you read other opposing opinions I wash and dry all my cloth in delicate, I bought 12 pairs, and rarely use socks. I estimate I used each pair less than five times. I order a suite weeks in advance for a very special occasion so I was trying to track it through there site which directs you to DHL and the tracking # wasn't successful and that has happened to me with every order I have ordered with Bonobos. Long story short, I checked the site again and it said my order was returned so I called their 1-877 # and after several attempts I got the least helpful sympathetic person I've ever talk to in customer service!! Basically, she said it was shipped with a return label. That's why I came back. I still don't understand that. It was nice knowing ya Bonobo's. I always hesitant to have clothing ordered. After buying gloves here, they were sent to me in 2 different sizes and with 2 frays on one glove. I did communicate an expectation that the gloves not have any frays on them and they did. This is such an inconvenience to try and returns these now. I can't speak highly enough about the service that Suheily provided today while I was shopping for some new jeans. I've been working from home since March. (covid- ya know) Because of that, I haven't had too many occasions to get out. Well, last week, I gathered up my courage to leave the house, took off my sweats for the first time in 8 months, tossed on my Bonobos jeans, and..... was not remotely close to being able to button those bad boys up. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Welp, I figured it was time to accept defeat and go buy some "post quarantine" jeans. That brought me to the Bonobos store in the Seaport. When I walked in I was given a warm, friendly greeting by Suheily. She asked me the last time I had been to the store. I told her about a year ago, but since than I had gotten a bit plumper. She pulled up my order history, and said I was a 32 last time I had purchased jeans. She optimistically said, "lets try a 33". After needing to go up a couple more sizes, we finally found my perfect fit, in two different styles! I was super excited to purchase my new jeans, and start living my life again outside of sweatpants! She rang me up, and told me when I could expect my new jeans to arrive. I told her, "thank you for all your help today. Hopefully next time I'm in, I may fit back into my old jeans!" What she said next, just made my day. She said, "It's the person who makes the clothes, not the clothes who make the person. And you are beautiful just the way you are!" Well Suheily, you are a true professional, and a wonderful person! TERRIBLE! I purchased four shirts and the shirts were OK but just didn't work for me. So I returned the shirts and they were returned to store credit instead of return to my American Express. Okay. No malls, crowds, traffic, slow people with their annoying kids in line, or cashiers in a bad mood. While I will say Nordstrom's is the exception as they have great customer service they don't control traffic or the fact that I am not a fan of the shopping experience. Bonobo's pants are soft and I will never buy other pants every again. Free shipping, free returns, promotions to initially become a member, and some sweet ass styles (yes I just bought those American Flag pants). But what happens when you get stuff and realize it doesn't fit? Well free returns! Your other option is to head into a Guideshop like this one and get pampered by women who basically dress you and give advice on different attire. They help with the selections and they can even help you draft up a new order. If you are curious about sizing before you buy, it might be a good idea to check out a Guideshop. Buyer beware though, you cannot actually leave with anything that is in here but you can order it to be picked up at the shop or your home. Just a note with Bonobos, I found my size to be one size too big in the straight cut (had to buy one down) and exactly my size in slim (never though I would wear slim). These clothes definitely do not have an european cut. The great thing is you can try as much as you like before finding your fit. read more

I have been loyal to Bonobos for several years. I have loved the diversity of styles and sizes that they have provided and "found my fit." All that has changed in the last 3 weeks, as they have absolutely no customer support. There is not way to reach them. Their chat is always down. They don't answer their emails. There is not phone number. I have a exchange and now it has been 3 weeks with no response. I am afraid that I have to dispute the credit card charge at this point. It's just been terrible. read more

Had to make a stop here during vacation when I found out they were in the Back Bay. A little hard to find if you don't know it's on the second floor, up 2 flights of stairs. I was always hesitant about ordering pants without trying them on, so this guide shop was perfect. Even though I had not ordered Bonobos before, the girls working there were really helpful and knowledgeable. They have samples of every size of pants, shirts, suits, etc, and whatever color or style you like will be ordered and shipped to you. I tried on a few pairs of pants and was really happy with a pair of chinos, and now they're being shipped to me. + the music they were playing was right up my alley read more

Excited to see their clothing line and try on some pieces during my spontaneous trip to boston from CT where there are no Bonobos locations. On a nice Saturday afternoon I got to the store walked in and started to browse the clothing lines they had on display. The associates were helping three other customers at the time try on pants, shirts etc. So after walking around for about 6-7 minutes in the small location looking at the same pieces a few times and commenting this is nice, I received no eye contact, a simple hello or a we can help you shortly, so I left. I felt like I was a ghost walking around. Maybe I'll have to order everything online in 2 different sizes and return what doesn't fit me correctly and be my own and be my own personal shopper. read more

Nice shop, and it's great to be able to try stuff on before ordering, but the staff pays no attention to you if you're not a young urban hipster. There were three or four staff people working and a bunch of dudes sitting around drinking beer. We walked around the tiny shop looking at the expensive dress clothing for 15 minutes and weren't even acknowledged, so we left without ordering a thing. Won't be back. It is very convenient to have a bonobos guide shop around the area if you're looking to buy things online. I encourage everyone to go to the guide shop before purchasing something on the website. Many people think they know their sizes but every store varies. Bonobos is def a place you should check out before ordering, simply because they have many different trims and cuts for shirts and pants. This store had a decent amount of sizes where I was able to try on just about any different variations of sizes. This will give you a good indication of what style suits you best and what styles you didn't know you liked before. I turned out to be Neck 15 sleeve 34 when I thought I was neck 14.5 and sleeve 32-33. The extra inch makes a huge difference believe me! I recommend going on a weekday if you have the time, just because there isn't many people that go on the weekdays after work. There was only 1 lady that was working who was fairly nice, but didn't seem like she wanted to help that much. She was on the computer most of the time. This wasn't entirely bad, because she did help out whenever you asked her to. With that being said... Go to the Guide shop and Find your Size and style! read more

I love this shop. New to the brand, but I have received 2 orders (shirts, jeans, sweaters, hoodies) and everything fits. I am tall with long arms and it's impossible for me to buy off the rack. Because my arms are long, I usually have to buy a size up and then have the sides tailored, otherwise I am left with a lot of extra fabric blousing over my pants. I'm not a skinny hipster. I'm not trendy, either. I am a classic dresser (I buy quality items that last and move through fads). HOWEVER, Bonobos updated prints and colors with quality cuts and craftsmanship has meant I am now getting tons of compliments on my clothes, and to be honest, I feel great going into my closet again. And they will last through fads,too! I use to hate shopping, now I actually stop by the store to see what's new. I'm one of those skinny guys that can't get pants to fit right. I hate all that extra material around the thighs, and I really hate having a huge triangular opening at the back of my waist whenever I sit down. When the guideshop first came to Boston, I decided to check it out (at my roommate's suggestion), and I can honestly say that I haven't bought a pair of pants from anyone else since. I know this company's been around online for a few years, but I'm one of those people that doesn't like ordering stuff online without trying it on first (hence my hesitation with companies like Indochino). I agree with the other reviewer that having a personal shopper work with you one-on-one for so long is a little weird at first, but when I came back a second time (a couple months later), it was like meeting up with an old friend. I set up my appointments with Lauren, who is now the manager at the guideshop, and she is pretty freaking awesome. She's never once pressured me to buy anything or refer my friends or sign up for their email list - she just helps me find the right clothes in the right sizes to make me look dapper for work and the weekends. Oh, and the best part is that you don't have to walk home with bags and bags of stuff - Lauren orders it for you in the store and it arrives at your house the next day. It really doesn't get much better than Bonobos. I have been shopping with them for a few years now and I have not had one bad experience. Their customer service and amazing return policy are worth the extra $$$. I've exchanged pants 1.5 years out without question and with free shipping both ways. The people who work at this guideshop are just as amazing as their online customer support. I've been to this location a few times now and every time I've left happy and satisfied. They are super friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you get the best fit. It is by appointment only but that just means they make plenty of time for your 1-on-1 consultation. However, if you just walked in I'm sure they wouldn't mind. One word: IMPECCABLE FIT! Okay that was two words. The clothes literally fit me as if they were tailored for my dimensions. Shipping is quick (1-2 business days). So far, am really happy with my purchase of chinos, casual shirts and dress shirts. You do need a sales associate to help you with your order when you visit the store: they don't keep all size/fit combinations on the rack, instead, a sales associate brings garments from the inventory for you to try on, following which you order your preferred color/pattern(s) online. So make sure you either get an appointment or call before visiting to make sure someone is available to help you out. read more

Don't buy Sale items. Bonobos absolutely refused my exchange of a size up on the same day it arrived. Customer Service policy is terrible. Items run extremely small and do not fit normal size of normal stores. I wear a 40 in every shirt I buy. I bought there 40, it ran 3 inches smaller. Pit to pit measured17.5! Good luck, you get no second chance. Waste of money otherwise. read more

I think most of the negative reviews on this site are for customers that expected service but didn't have a reservation. I would say those individuals complaints are groundless as the company is reservation only. They will accommodate others without reservations whenever they can. read more

Just horrible service. 2 guys working in store. Said hi then went back to their small talk. Only one other couple in store. The male of the couple asked a question about the color of something. They said something like 'gray dog'. The female of the couple said to the male... So it is like gray. Then the male pushed for a second then asked the 2 guys if he could try it on. They literally both stopped, looked at each other like it was the most difficult question because it appeared neither wanted to get off their butts or off their laptop to help the customer 5 feet away from them. I went in to buy a suit and maybe more but seeing this poor customer service and laziness, I just had to leave. read more

These guys are awesome! Super friendly, great product, and extremely helpful. I emailed Emily at the Guideshop, set up an appointment and went in and was fitted with the most appropriate size pants, shirts and blazers. They don't sell anything from the store, but I was able to easily order online and my stuff came in one day. Ended up returning a pair of pants I wasn't thrilled about (fit was awesome, just off in color from what I was looking for) and the return/shipping process was extremely easy and free. My boyfriend has ordered many items online from Bonobos, but when we went by the actual shop so he could try on some pants, we were really disappointed. The staff completely ignored us while we stood in the middle of the floor with a handful of items looking for assistance from the staff for a dressing room. It was actually a pretty strange experience...we ended up just walking out after about 15 minutes. If you read all of the reviews, you'll note that in some cases, the sales help did nothing and in others cases, fawned over the customer.
