We were visiting Carbondale with friends and had our dog with us. All of our friends went to Village Smithy down the street but they wouldn't even let our little dog with us on the outdoor patio. It turns out Carbondale is not terribly dog friendly. Fortunately for us Bonfire Coffee had outdoor seating and allowed dogs. What a lucky find. We had a bagel egg sandwich and a lox and bagel. Both were fabulous as was the coffee. read more

Nice place in Carbondale Colorado. Looked like family run business with people who care. It was the first place open in the morning and I stopped in several times. Good Bagels, breakfast sandwich's and pastries. Coffee was good too. read more

Perhaps my favorite coffee shop in the Roaring Fork Valley. Good coffee, good bagels, good pastries, and a good spot to work. Located right on Carbondale's charming main street. This is what a coffee shop is supposed to be. I wish that Aspen had a coffee shop like this. 4.5/5 read more

The Palisade Peach salad was amazing and one of the best salads I've ever had. The caramel latte left a lot to be desired though. It was bitter and not very good. I'd return for food but I'd pass on the coffee. read more

Bonfire is a solid coffee shop- located in the heart of the downtown area of Carbondale. They offer MANY breakfast/lunch options including a pleasant dark roasted espresso. I appreciate the variation in gluten free options, both healthy and flavorful. Staff were pleasant, straight to the point and helpful. All while managing wait time excellently. There's a copious amount of seating, whether you need to study or catch up for a long time friend. As far as ambience goes, the space is extremely community centered and queer friendly. They exhibit a wall of flyers for anything one may need: from community outreach to crocheting classes. I'd definitely go again. read more

3.5* Pretty good bagel sandwich, on the small side and with a coffee, a bit expensive ($14). Spacious seating inside. read more

Best coffee and breakfast. Homemade everything. Ordered quiche and it was served with greens and a light dressing. I'm still enjoying the coffee grounds I took home. read more

My next visit was much better, than the first visit last week. Older service person, (owner?) offered a pleasant and kind greeting. Coffee was "not" burnt tasting and my bagel was terrific. A nice, pleasant, clean, and open space to relax and start your day. read more

We visited Carbondale and the Glenwood Springs area recently & I wasn't overly excited about our coffee shop options. I'm very thankful we checked this one out as it was a wonderful experience and we went here twice over our 6-day stay. Our first impression was seeing so many items on their menu that were organic/higher quality/all natural. My wife doesn't eat processed sugar so this was a great fit for us. They also locally roast their beans which is something we look for. Our first day consisted of coffee only. My wife got a honey latte which was heavy on honey and delicious. She would recommend it and get it again. I got a caramel lattee which was just ok since it was from a pre-made syrup which I don't normally care for. They don't use Monin though which is a win in my book! The 2nd day was coffee and food. I got a cobb salad which was excellent. I added Kalamata olives and the lemon oregano vin was delicious. Super fresh greens, clean food. It was perfect after our hike! My wife got a veggie sandwich and raved about it. Bread was well toasted and not soggy plus a lot of flavor. I also took her hummus and added it to my salad which was a wonderful decision. The biggest reason for our review was their customer service. They were very friendly, patient, and made us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend stopping in! read more

Bonfire Coffee - a bowl of salad with avocado and toast - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Carbondale, Colorado

My wife and I were on the road and looking for a good cup of coffee, some wifi and breakfast. Bonfire came up as an option on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. What a cool spot. They have local art for sale in the front and a bunch of pastries, and baked goods. The donuts looked great but I forgot to get one this time. I ordered a pour over (light roast) and had the pox bagel on a poppy bagel. The coffee was great and the bagel was more of a sandwich than what I would normally expect if I ordered any kind of bagel with lox. There was a heaping of chopped lettuce in it which really lightened up the meal. That was perfect because it was second breakfast for me. My wife had an omelet that was delicious. I think it was ham and tomato? It was super fluffy and had avocado on top. It also came with a slice of buttered wheat toast. I love toast. The staff was very friendly and seemed to all love their jobs. It's nice when you see that. I really dug the space with their benches and the contraption in the back that I couldn't tell what it was. They have fast wifi and ample power on whips along the bench. It seemed there were a ton of locals and everyone in the place seemed to know the guy sitting next to us. A good sign! I'll come back here again when I swing through Carbondale. I'm always looking for a good breakfast and coffee spot. read more

Food looks great! Super busy even on a Monday morning. But, do not get the matcha! It just tastes like milk.

We love Bonfire Coffee! Every time we are in town we are at Bonfire once, sometimes twice, a day. Lety and all of the baristas makes the best espresso drinks. The food is also delish! Bagel sandwiches, donuts, treats. Thanks Bonfire! read more

Bonfire Coffee - Oat milk latte with Vanilla - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Carbondale, Colorado

Stopped here for breakfast. The bagel was burnt black. I guess covering that up was the reason for the cream cheese. The Americano was tasteless. Two stars for the breakfast sandwich which was just ok. It didn't help that the temperature in the seating area in the back had to have been in the 50s. Other customers had already left because it was so cold. read more

Stopped here on my way to to Denver. I wanted to support the local coffee shops. This place had a huge line, the latte was great but I also ordered the farm grilled cheese. I was so dissatisfied as it had one slice of cheese that was barely melted but had too much greens. It didn't taste good. See picture, it was mostly a spinach sandwich and was far from a grilled cheese. Bread that was used was good. The coffee shop was packed, so assuming it's a good spot, so I recommend it still. read more

Service was amazing! Coffee was delicious! Next time I'll try the food. It all looked so good!

Pastries are delicious and fresh. The coffee was darker than I would have liked for a medium roast and tasted almost burnt. Would go back and try a lighter roast next time. read more

Cute spot a little pricey not happy that I spent almost $7 on a burnt croissant and an egg no meat or cheese. The turmeric latte was grainy. read more

Everything here is 10 stars. The coffee. The so many foods and baked goods. The local-ness. The broad selection. The inclusivity. The compostable everything. The service. The ambiance. The bathroom. The parking. The community bulletin board. The fact that they sponsor the Enormocast podcast. This might be one of my favorite coffee shops ever!!!!! Also I SO appreciate that they are still requiring masks- this is the only small business I've been in recently that has required masks and I feel much safer this way given how many people I know who have had symptomatic breakthrough covid after being fully vaccinated. Bravo Bonfire!!!! read more

Good little coffee shop downtown Carbondale. Variety of coffee/tea options. I tried the house chai and flavored latte. Appreciate the many seating options. It made it possible for people to meet up and chat but allow some to find a quiet corner to work/read. Light instrumental music in the background was the perfect backdrop. Friendly service and free WiFi topped it off! read more

Was on vacation for the week and tried several different counter type coffee/breakfast places. This place had the best iced vanilla latte and everything bagel sandwich we tried. It was delicious. The place was busy but the staff was quick getting food and drink out to us. I was a bit surprised that we were still required to wear masks but the staff was gracious about reminding folks masks were needed. There was also plenty of room to sit and eat if desired. Definitely recommend the bagel sandwich on an everything bagel! read more

I went to Bonfire twice while we were visiting Carbondale. Loved the Golden Hot Latte. My husband had the bagel with smoked salmon. He loved and it was filling. First day I had the Egg Bagel sandwich. The next time I had the everything bagel with cream cheese. The coffee was really good. Staff was friendly both days and it was extremely busy. read more

Great coffee shot to work from or hang out. They have outdoor and indoor seating. People are very friendly, they have great food options, and internet is good. Music loud enough and great picks, very important for me. Will be coming back regularly. read more

I usually waver between an iced latte and a good cup of black coffee. This was one of those days I went with the latte. It felt like the ratio was off because I tasted mostly milk (and it looked like mostly milk) so the coffee taste was completely lost. I would be curious to know how good their regular coffee is as it seems people really like it. My wife also had a latte but mixed with turmeric and something else and felt a little let down compared to others she'd had. read more

This coffee shop is a must if you're in Carbondale. The breakfast sandwiches are great I had a bacon everything bagel and it did not disappoint. The coffee is great as well. I opted for just a brewed coffee but the lattes and specialty drinks did look tempting. The space is large but cozy with plenty of seating. Fast wifi and they play good music too! read more

Bummer. Wanted to support local biz on way through town but they are still living in the past with their "mask up" requirement. So I did not go in. Sad to see so many people stick to the mass delusion that masks do anything positive whatsoever. That said, I don't hold grudges and if I'm ever back in the area I'll happily check in and hope that management and ownership change their ways! read more

This is one of my favorite places when I'm in town. They always have great service and healthy choices. The coffee is great and is always an added plus when they have milk alternatives like almond and oat milk. They have delicious bakery items and pretty much anything on their lunch menu is great. Stop by and try! read more

Love everyone here, it has become my fav coffee joint from Glenwood to Aspen. Coffee is real and delicious, food is always good, run into friends here - just how I like my local coffee shop. Giant hugs to this business. read more

Ate here for the first time during "Ride the Rockies". Holy smokes, I had a great latte AND a great breakfast sandwich - much better than the boring event food. The line was long and the wait made my stomach grumble, but it was worth it. The latte and food was like rocket fuel. I liked it so much that I stopped in Carbondale two weeks later when I was back in the area picking my son up from camp. One of the good coffee shops that has a solid intersection between coffee and food. read more

Best coffee and food in town!! I go there every morning when I come to town! Try the coconut stout, it's to die for!!!!

Cute coffee shop, the menu options were good, the only thing I didn't like was the fact that you couldn't have so much space to drink your coffee inside and it was a rainy day so sitting outside wasn't the most ideal thing. read more

Great space to sit and re-cap on your day, or work remotely. Kombucha is on tap, Doughnuts are amazing. My only complaint - the blonde woman (I believe she's the manager) just lingers with a scowl, makes you feel uncomfortable with her upset demeanor, she just seems unhappy all of the time and if she's having a bad day, well, watch out, she will let you know quickly. read more

We had a good visit at Bonfire for a quick breakfast sandwich and coffees. All were pretty solid, and I loved that they had gluten free options.
