****DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE**** Disrespectful, rude and ignorant is greeting we were given as we asked a few basic questions regarding the daily vs hourly rates. The degenerative sales man repeatedly insulted myself and my family implying we couldn't afford a bike rental, and then proceeded with verbal vomit as we walked away. DO NOT RENT FROM HIM!!! We planned on renting a few ebikes bikes for the whole day. We Called, Texted, WhatsApp'd, emailed and almost sent a carrier pigeon. No answer at all. Looked at their website to see they had a limit of 3 hours for a bike rentals. This unfortunately didn't work for us. No communication = no business. Our group rented e-bikes from another company that picked up the phone the first time. They delivered/picked up the ebikes, ave us a tutorial and we had the bikes all day. Update: This business messaged me a few days after I posted this. I gave them one more star for the effort. Hopefully they will improve on their communication for future customers. read more

I'm a local, not a tourist, and have been dog sitting near the boardwalk and walking the dogs there every day. I kept walking by and stopping at these really great photos on canvas (appeared to be), but there was never anyone that appeared to be working there. I finally asked the guy at the next stall, and he called over Oren. I guess the bike shop also sells the photographs...? I told Oren I didn't have any money on me at the moment, but I was really interested in the photos and had some questions. He said "come back when you have money and we'll talk." I said "I can't ask you a question right now??" He reluctantly agreed, so I asked him who the artist/photographer was. He said "we are all the artists!" And walked away, again telling me to come back when I have the cash. Also, really?? You took these photos? Um, WHY would I come back and spend money here when you couldn't even be bothered to answer my simple questions?? Horrible customer service. You lost a sale. I was looking to buy two of the bigger pieces. I guess because I'm not a tourist I'm not worth their time. read more

Unfortunately, everything went wrong. I purchased an electric bike from this company. Once they get a certain age they will sell the bikes. There were so many things wrong with this bike and the owner and the worker tried as hard as they could to deceive me and keep me from knowing what was wrong with the bike. I called him back up. I told him what was wrong. He came over and made an adjustment. I called him back and told him the electric motor cuts out constantly you have to come over and fix this both you and your worker reported that there was nothing wrong with the electricity in the bike. In fact, he boasted that there were still so many charges left in it. That couldn't be further from the truth, I'll take the bike. I'll go out a half a mile the electricity will cut off and I'll have to push it back to my house. I tried telling the owner about this. He would not return any phone calls. I tried so hard to make it right to have him come work on it, but no response whatsoever. Terrible experience there was a conscious coordinated effort for them to keep everything that was wrong with this bike from me. On top of that I spent $300 on the bike to get it serviced Before I knew of all these problems. The owner would not make it correct and will not return my phone calls. Terrible business man I would recommend staying away from these people. read more

TAKING A RISK!! We've been on many Segway Tours in Portland, Ft Lauderdale, Austin, to name a few. But the key word there is TOUR. This place doesn't have tours they rent Segways and tell you to go to the Canals. No tour guide just on your own type rental. I thought that was a bit weird but went ahead with the rental. BIG mistake! The small bridges in the Canals are not ideal for the Segways & are on a steep incline. The right wheel on the Segway rubbed against the narrow bridge rising up & pitching me off about 3 feet up and down onto concrete fracturing my pelvis, dislocating my elbow & pulling my groin. Needless to say I want to warn everyone how careful to be. I feel if there had been a tour guide that knows where and where not to go that this could have been avoided. Spend the extra $ and use a tour operated Segway rental. read more

We reserved three bikes for two hours by selecting an open (same day) slot on the Boneshaker's website . When we arrived the business was closed. We called and emailed upon arrival. They did not answer the phone, nor did they email us back. But, they did charge our credit card! Wow, Bumshaker Bikes..buyer beware. read more

I wasn't expecting to get on a Segway when I went to Venice, but I'm glad I did. My friends and I found this place when walking down the boardwalk. When we went in, the staff was very friendly and showed us how to move around on the segway. All my friends got the hang of it pretty easy and off we went to explore Venice! This is a must try when going to Venice. I will be using them again! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. HORRIBLE customer service and they can't run a proper business correctly. I came to visit California over the past weekend and ended up renting a bike from these guys. And I forgot to pick up my ID from them when I was done. So I called the next day and asked if they could put it up for me until the next day. They said yes. So the next day I came there and they told me that they ended giving my ID to someone else by "accident" so I'm not gonna continue to talk about the story because I'm sure we all know where I'm going with this, but long story short they didn't get my ID back and I went through shit tryna get back to where I'm from. So whoever is reading this, DONT rent from them because they're bad business and should be up!! read more

This time, we were hoping to rent a 4-person Surrey Bike, but Jay's Rentals doesn't carry this type of bike. The person at Jay's kindly referred us to Ray's Rentals (off Washington Blvd and close to the pier) for a better chance at finding and renting a Surrey Bike. This was too far to check out since we had already paid for a whole day of parking close to where we were now, but it was a nice gesture to be pointed toward a place that might rent the type of bike we had in mind. After browsing the selection of 3-wheeled E-Trike Carts that could accommodate our party (2 adults; 2 kids), we decided to try out a larger one with a shade canopy. It was priced at $80/hour. The fit with the bench seats was a bit tight, but it was doable since the kids were both ages 10 and under and one of the adults was more on the petite side. For reference, the front bench (for the driver) is best for one adult, and the rear bench can probably fit two adults. Our positive interaction with the person at Jay's continued throughout the payment transaction, paperwork signing, and offer to take our photo on the E-Trike before we took off. Also, we were ready to go on our way about 10 minutes before the hour, but Jay's Rentals rounded up our time, so we received 1:10 in total. It was an all-around pleasant and smooth transaction. During our rental period, we were able to ride north to a spot just a bit past Santa Monica Pier (where the beachfront homes start again) and all the way back south past Jay's Rentals to the Venice Beach Pier before we returned. For the duration of our trip, the E-Trike's battery never dropped below the full reading of 3 bars and it performed well. Our E-Trike Adventure was a lot of fun and very memorable thanks in large part to Jay's Rentals.

Multiple gears didn't work correctly, the brakes barely functioned, and one bike had flat tires that I had to inflate myself before we could even ride. The helmets provided were heavily worn, and the lock included with the rental was just a basic cable lock. The employee specifically warned us to lock the bikes carefully since we were going to the Santa Monica Pier. Unfortunately, the cable lock THEY provided was cut, and one of the bikes was stolen. After returning and showing them the cut lock, they charged us $225 for the stolen bike, plus still charged us the rental fee. I understand being responsible for stolen rental equipment, but charging $225 for a bike in the condition this one was in felt excessive and unreasonable. These were not high-end bikes -- they looked heavily used and poorly maintained. What made the situation worse was the attitude afterward. They even told us they were "being nice" by not charging us for the cut lock. Then, after we said we would not return, one employee offered us a gift card to come back, which honestly felt strange after charging us hundreds of dollars. Overall, the bikes were low quality, poorly maintained, and the handling of the situation left a bad impression. I would not recommend renting here.

They also forgot to give us one of our locks, so it was hard for our group to stop for a break.

The attendant rudely suggested I take the bikes back out but insisted on charging me the full price for 2 hours $80. The customer service was very rude, and I definitely do not recommend this place.

The bikes were in great condition and their prices were $30 per hour vs. $55 per hour everywhere else! They are conveniently located right on the Venice Boardwalk and there were super nice people working there. I won't rent from anyone else. Be sure to ride North all the way to Santa Monica Pier! When you get back, have lunch at the Sidewalk Cafe. It's a great way to spend the day!

Hey everyone Just wanted to let all my amazing riders know that the owner of the store david Is a thief a liar among other things this is all because he wouldn't pay me the money he owed me for working for 2 months he's excuse was because it was the Jewish holidays again I worked 60 days and no payment on top of that I find out that his other store cell store two doors down has not payed taxes or payed the other employees so I just like to let everyone know please don't support his business anymore and thank you so much for all my amazing reviews I will keep you guys updated on my new location love you all Lala read more

this place is great! we came to Venice beach to rent bicycles and then found out they had electric bikes for rent. we have been wanting to try theses bikes for awhile and man was it worth every penny. we rented for 2 hours and in that time we were able to see everything. we went all around the marina down the Venice board walk and up past the Santa Monica pier to Malibu. these bikes fly and are so fun and easy to us. we will def be back read more
