Hoppy Days doughnut (chocolate-stout with marshmallow cream).
    Rebecca T.

It'd been a while since I'd last had a good doughnut, so I took to Boneshaker to have one again. As it specializes in gourmet doughnuts, expect to pay about 4-5 euros for one. I went in the late afternoon, so there weren't as many options left: I opted for "Hoppy Days," a chocolate-stout doughnut with marshmallow cream on top. Unlike the usual, dense doughnuts I've had in the U.S. (e.g. Krispy Kreme), this one was surprisingly light and fluffy, not overly greasy. The chocolate and marshmallow paired together well in texture, with a slight hint of the stout's richness (although I would've like more stout flavor, but that's just a personal preference). Service was welcoming and friendly, which made my experience a good one. I hope to be back to try more flavors!

As my 3rd favorite food, doughnuts have a very special place in my heart. I travel all over the world and try to get the best of the best wherever I go. I am really glad I got to try these, as I think they represent really well the creativity and decadence of American doughnuts. They were inventive and fresh! The flavors of each worked well together, and they were visually pleasing as well! That being said: enough with the 5€ doughnuts! I have had creative and decadent doughnuts in the US that are bigger and half the price. I get that Paris is an expensive city, but I wouldn't get these again just because they were so expensive for one, let alone three. Enjoyable?: yes. Delicious?: yes. But worth it?: I don't think so. I could see some of the seasonal, filled, creative monster doughnuts going for 4€ or 4€5, but most of the simple ring doughnuts with a flavorful glaze or cinnamon sugar could be 3€ or less. Perhaps if there was more doughnut competition in the city they would be, I don't know. Overall, try them if doughnuts are your thing. You will enjoy them.

Peanutbutter don't with a butter flavored donut.

I'm in the beautiful city of Lights, Paris. Seen this done place on my walk around the city. So starving I went in the shop for a court of donuts. I had an Peanutbutter with chocolate and one with an butter flavor in it. They were both delicious and and soft. The 2 ladies working the counter were both nice and proud of their work. One visited my homeland of Reno in 2001. So if in Paris look this place up and visit for a donut.

Best donut shop I've ever been to- no exaggeration. Was not expecting to find this gem during my trip, in fact went twice. Got the Boneshaker (Boston crème) and the Speculoos.

The only reason it gets 3 stars is because I didn't get to taste a donut that I would usually buy. I was there during their Halloween day. The line was ridiculously long (36mins wait), finally made it to the door and we are told they ran out of donut..WTFFF. next batch of donuts 30mins... Luckily we took a chance and decided to wait till the 3 people in front of us finished. We ended up buying the last 5 donuts and a brownie... The flavor that was left wasn't something I would usually get. It was just ok... But the BROWNIE!!!! DELISH! it was thick, chocolatey, tasty, caramely, sticky YUMMMY. So I will go back on a less busy day . Try an expensive donut and rewrite the review. Go for the brownie 4.5€.. pricey but a treat

The owner is very sweet and takes time explaining her cake donut fun creations. Amanda is from DC and is a Le Cordon Bleu trained pastry chef and has done a good job of introducing the people of Paris to our fun donuts. I don't know if I've ever seen donuts made with Stout and bourbon before, can't wait to try more fun ideas she comes up with. It's a small shop and her Kitchen is upstairs. I'm told her dog Roxy often hangs around to great guests, I kissed Roxy that day. I tried the Stout Chocolate Marshmallow & Brown Butter Glazed & Toffee Popcorn. The Stout was my favorite. Have to support a women's dream to live and work in Paris. I think many of us would love the chance to do the same. Go get your donuts!

This is one of the most amazing donut places I have ever been to, hands down. The donuts have a unique texture and are absolutely delicious and melt in your mouth. The owner is a US raised, French trained pastry chef and was wonderful to chat with! Truly a lovely experience and I'm really sad they are all the way in Paris!

As if Amanda and Louie (the very friendly owners) and Roxie (the ferocious guard dog) weren't enough of a draw, the donuts at Boneshaker are simply amazing. We stumbled across Boneshaker during a trip to Paris when I tired of pain du chocolaut and had a mean hankering for a gooey cinnamon roll. Google and Yelp pointed us to a little place not far from our hotel and a short walk later had us introduced to Amanda, giving Roxie a rub behind the ears, and downing sugary pieces of Heaven. My favorite was the peanut butter and dark chocolate while Shideh loved the salted caramel, but, in all honesty, my "go to" choice on a daily basis (should I ever live in Paris) would have to be the cinnamon and sugar. I never got to try the cinnamon rolls (Amanda only makes them on Saturdays), but I can't complain. The experience was unexpected yet wonderful and it remains one of my favorite memories from our visit to the City of Lights.

Good donuts with interesting flavors. The shop inside is very small and unmarked on the street, but they offer up around seven different flavors of donuts. We had a glazed, caramel and bacon topped. The bacon of course was our favorite. Also, a local fresh made lemonade to wash it all down.

Stopped in with family by sheer accident. Glad we stopped in as they have the best doughnuts EVER!!!! Coffee was the "icing on the cake"! Don't forget to pet Roxy.

It smelled scrumptious and there were plenty of pastry selections from buns and muffins to cakes and cookies. They have a lot of Matcha-forward pastry items, which was nice to see. I ordered a classic Latte with a Chocolate Croissant and a Matcha Muffin. The matcha taste in the muffin tasted artificial imo, which ruined the experience. The chocolate croissant and Latte were pretty standard. I also tried the Matcha Bun and Matcha Eclair from my brother and they were sweeter than I'd like. Staff was overall friendly and spoke minimal English. There were still a good amt of customers coming in and out, so it still gets good foot traffic despite my opinion of the taste. Can't beat the Asian bakeries in nyc!

My favorite items was the black sesame melon pan and matcha tiramisu. I went close to Halloween so the black sesame had eyes and it just really looked cure! I love black sesame and I liked how strong the flavor was. The matcha cream was a really nice touch to it too and enhanced the black sesame flavor. The matcha tiramisu had a lot of matcha on top! It paired super well with the cream. I definitely want to try making my own if I can. I only got a small bit of the cocoa melonpan but it was also really good! It had a chocolate filling in the middle. The bakery had a lot of bakery items on display so you'll definitely find at least one thing you like! There was also a decent-sized drink menu there too that are pretty good!

I whipped out Yelp and noticed that I had Happy Caffe bookmarked. I'm not sure how it landed in my collection, but the reviews were excellent thought it would be a good option for lunch - so off we went. Happy sits right on the street - it's a super small space with barely any room inside and several tables outside on the sidewalk. They did a good job making room for us - I have to say they mastered the art of optimizing what little space they have but even still be prepared for a tight fit. The menu has a selection of baked good, crepes, and sandwiches. We asked the employee working behind the counter what they recommended and he suggested the kebab panini as he sells many of them every day. We decided to each get one, which was served promptly. The sandwich wasn't my favorite - the chicken seemed a little off, and it wasn't that tasty. I wouldn't say it was awful, but I also wouldn't order it again. Looking back, perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (despite it being recommended to me). I'm puzzled by all these 5-star reviews - maybe the crepes are better? Two stars for the friendly and attentive service, but I would bypass this spot next time I'm in Paris.

First off, this is an iconic historic hotel. Beautiful location at Place Vendome. My friend and I were hungry and on a weekday night and randomly walked in and were promptly seated. They gave us complimentary chocolates too. The vibes and ambience are immaculate. It looks like a classic fancy restaurant. There was a piano player too! They gave us a little chair for our purses.
