Pan-Asian Butterfish

We came here for a late lunch for a friend's birthday. Our waiter was very attentive, drinks were never empty. I had the shrimp and scallops which were very good. But the standout was the Mexican street corn side! Mr S. enjoyed his fish and said it had good flavor. Little S had the "popcorn" shrimp but I would say these were standard size, not popcorn. Our table had bang bang shrimp, calamari and imperial dip. They were all very good, although I always wish dips were served with more chips.

Had brunch with a friend over $5 mimosas and food. I tried something new (the Crab & Fontjna Cheese Frittata) and unfortunately I think it was overcooked and lacking cheese and crab. I actually asked for more cheese. The chicken eggrolls definitely need the sauces. They don't stand well on their own. But the service was great!

I have been to Bonefish multiple times the last 3 years, so this review is absolutely overdue. This year alone I have taken several business partners, prospective clients, team lunches and the last time a solo cocktail trip to the bar, and I must say every single visit was excellent. The food is delicious if you love seafood and you want something well done this is a place to start with. I am a big fan of the Imperial Cod and Tilapia. A big crowd favorite is their bang bang shrimp so if you aren't avoiding deep fried and love shrimp this one is a definite winner! I had recently their tuna crunch appetizer and it did not disappoint it was refreshing, filling and very flavorful - 5 stars. There is plenty of parking in this location- also I must highlight- this is "my" local Bonefish so I guess I give all the props to them, I am not taking accountability for the other locations ok?? ;) lol Back to the review, price point is about $30 no tip per person and without really getting a drink so a proper experience come prepared to spend $50-$60. The ambience is light lux, it's not extravagant nor uber chic it's just the right amount of elegant and the crowed follows suit and what I mean is it's a great place for a casual lunch and nice dinner.

I've been to this restaurant several times over the years, but on this day, we had a cold rain. The server was gracious to put my order in right away. I believe I wasn't the only one trying to escape the weather. The pictures show brunch I had. The bacon, potatoes, and French toast. Food that I didn't cook always tastes better, & that pineapple martini was the finishing touch. I'm overdue for a return.

Shrimp and grits

I caught brunch at the bar and I enjoyed myself. It was my first time . Got passion fruit margarita and shrimp and grits I really enjoyed it

I went for my birthday. I got Lillys chicken and it's always good. I normally get it with the jasmine rice and broccoli. Good as always and they gave me a cheesecake (I don't know if it was on the house for my birthday though) and they gave me a birthday card signed by all the employees working that night. Very thoughtful. However, the price increase is absolutely crazy. This restaurant has definitely turned into a once a year restaurant. Special occasions only.

I was most excited to try the braised pork belly, garlic bok choy and the roasted duck. The ambiance was very friendly. The decor was traditional & the service was amazing. We really did order a lot of food, but it was definitely worth it! Portion sizes were quite big. Definitely planning on returning soon!

So when I arrived in Matthews and was told, "You HAVE to try Imperial Treasure," I was excited to see what all the talk was about. I ordered delivery of the pan-fried pork buns, pork rice rolls, and a spicy chicken dish with peppers. Let me start with the good: bar none, the pan-fried pork buns were the best I have ever had. They looked absolutely incredible, and the flavor was amazing. The basics here are clearly there, and there is a lot of potential for this to become one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, the delivery order fell short because of the sauces. The pork buns arrived with the oil sitting at the bottom of the container, but there was no additional sauce to pour over them or dip them into. I had specifically ordered chili oil sauce, and it was not included. I also ordered sesame sauce for the rice rolls and that was not included either. The pork rice rolls looked amazing, but without the sauce, the first bite was unfortunately very flat and dry. The spicy chicken was also quite dry. I actually called the restaurant to let them know because I want them to succeed. I truly think the food has the potential to be amazing. It just needs to be executed for takeout and delivery the same way it presumably is when you're sitting in the restaurant. The sauces aren't a small detail with these dishes -- they're the icing on the cake. And I have to say, the woman I spoke with when I called was lovely and very receptive. Will I try Imperial Treasure again? Absolutely. Because when a restaurant makes a pan fried pork bun that good, you don't give up on it! But as I sit here looking at these beautiful pork buns that are unfortunately too dry to enjoy without something to dip them in, I'm already wondering where I'm going for dinner tonight. Imperial Treasure, you've got the basics absolutely right. Just make sure those sauces make it into the bag. You could be something really special.

They serve lunch and dinner, too--and that dinner menu was talking to me! When I try a restaurant for the first time, I usually start with something simple. It is a little like dating the restaurant: before I commit to the whole menu, let me see how you handle the basics. If you can make simple food well, then I begin to trust you. I relax. I get curious. Then, before you know it, I'm falling in love and planning our next date! Fresh Chef made a very good first impression. The eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection. The sourdough toast was toasted just right, with a beautifully balanced flavor that didn't overpower the rest of the plate. But those breakfast potatoes? Baby, they were the star! Crispy and golden on the outside, tender enough to melt in your mouth on the inside. I added onions and bell peppers, and next time I'll ask for extra because they belonged together. Let those onions and peppers come on out and join the party! The bacon was a good-quality cut--not thin, cheap, or pretending to be pork. As a genuine pork lover, I appreciate that. The coffee was good, too. My waiter was exceptional. I didn't catch the young man's name, but he made sure I had everything I needed while still giving me room to enjoy my breakfast. He was warm, attentive, and perfectly timed without hovering. That kind of service deserves to be recognized. Then I noticed the manager wearing a shirt from my favorite team. Well, that certainly didn't hurt the courtship! Roll Tide! Fresh Chef and I have had our first date, and I must say--it went very well. Now I need to return for dinner and see whether this little breakfast flirtation turns into a full-blown love affair. With a menu featuring steaks, seafood, pasta, ribs, shrimp and grits, and more, I am hopeful that this relationship has a future! Auntie D's rating: Five out of five forks!

I stopped in here on a Friday afternoon to grab a quick bite. Upon entrance, I really liked the paintings and other decorations spread throughout the dining room. The kitchen is visible as well which makes for a more immersive dining experience. The menu seemed to have plenty of seafood but I figured I'd opt for their special, a Blackened Red Snapper with Bacon Jalapeño Cream Sauce. It came with two sides so I decided to try out their okra and collard greens, after a recommendation from my waiter. I typically don't order collard greens but he said they have pork and are delicious. The place wasn't too busy so food came out quickly, about 10 minutes after I ordered. The food looked decent upon first glance, but I wasn't sold just yet. After my first bite of fish, I was taken aback by the delicious flavor of their cream sauce paired with the blackened fish. It was a solid portion of fish and tasted of good quality, so it didn't stand much a chance. The sides were also just as delicious. It's hard to mess up fried okra so my expectations were met to a tee. The collard greens were actually so incredible as well. I don't really know what they're made of but I definitely will be trying it more in the future, if other places prepare it as good. They also had a house hot sauce with was more flavor than heat, but paired wonderfully with everything. The whole meal was so good so I understand why they seem to a have solid amount of regulars at this place. The staff were very kind and attentive throughout the entire meal. I called in an order for the seafood gumbo, and when I arrived, a young lady was ready to cash me out. While reviewing my receipt, I noticed that a tip had already been added without my knowledge or consent. I politely removed it. I have absolutely no problem tipping, even on takeout orders, but that should be my decision--not something automatically added by an employee without informing me. What concerned me most was wondering how many other customers may not have noticed this on their receipts. Adding a tip without a customer's authorization is unacceptable and should definitely be addressed by management. I'm sorry, Cajun Yard Dog, because I've enjoyed supporting this restaurant, but this experience left a very bad impression and is the reason I can only give two stars this time.
