Three of us realized last-minute we had no reservations anywhere (rookie mistake), and I called fully expecting there was zero chance on a busy holiday weekend. Alexis didn't just "check availability" -- she problem-solved. She found a way to get us in, coordinated seating, and even paired us with a fantastic waiter so the whole night ran smoothly. From the moment we walked in, everything felt taken care of. No stress, no awkward waiting, no rushed service -- just a fun, relaxed girls' night because she clearly went out of her way behind the scenes to make it happen. Customer service like that is rare. OK, folks, you still can't seem to handle crowds. Believe me, I didn't want to go there. In short, we ordered four drinks, and one appetizer - a business meeting. My wife and I go to Bonefish Grill - J.C. 1-2 times a month. Today we tried the Crab Heuvos Racheros. Fairly good flavor, but WAAAY too salty (almost too salty to eat). It needs work. Drank water when I got home. FYI; By a big margin, the best Heuvos Rancheros that we've ever had is served at Sunny Point Cafe in West Asheville. read more

we were really looking forward our dinner tonight at bonefish with some friends and for starters the smoked old-fashioned were fantastic. unfortunately, the the service was less than desirable. We generally look forward to getting offered bread with olive oil and spices, which didn't happen until we requested it. We were never asked if we wanted bread. We were given a "free" calamari appetizer that was so over cooked, it was inedible. One of the servers who was helping our server run food incorrectly described multiple meals at our table, and when we corrected him the other server stated "I'm sorry, he doesn't know what he's talking about." Our salad was missing multiple ingredients because the restaurant was out of them, yet we were not told until bringing it up to the server. Lastly, once our meals arrived, the jasmine rice was so hard and crunchy it was also inedible. I met my husband there last night for a midweek date night. Of course we were one of about 10-12 couples doing the same thing. It was about 6pm on a Tuesday so that is what we expected. Our food was fine enough to be considered "date night on a Tuesday" Nothing fancy, just good. I got the rainbow trout and he got some sort of baked cod. Again, it was nothing spectacular but a meal neither of us had to cook that was tasty is damn near perfect for midweek date night. The ice cold martini hit the spot. But what I came here to brag about was our service. Ms. Aaliyah catered to our simple needs in the most professional way. She showed up when water needed topped off and engaged us in just the right amount. Like a lot of folks, I worked my way through my 20's in restaurants and so I know great service when I see it. This place has gone downhill. Seriously, get a new cook. Calamari, salty as hell and well done...honestly, way overcooked. Jasmine rice...so bad., like it was made days ago. We had that taken off the bill. Salmon...dry and overcooked. (Can't even cook salmon right...SMH No need to respond asking me to write directly and tell you what was wrong. Clearly the kitchen doesn't care about the food they send out to their customers. I kept on hoping things would improve, but they've just gotten worse every time. Ordered pick up from here. Young lady brought my food out to me promptly. I must say the calamari was very good they seasoned it and the sauce was a great addition. I think I read it was Asian zing or something but it was very tasty. The entree I got was the fontina pork chop with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The sides were ok I was just a little disappointed they didn't give me my requested butter. The pork chop was undercooked and they should know pork chops should be fully cooked. We are never disappointed with the food or the accompaniments. Once in a while the service isn't the greatest. I'm not sure why. My wife and I didn't go often because it is an hour away, but someone gives us a gift card ever year, so it is a treat I want to compliment our server Aaliyah, she was very sweet, attentive, beautiful smile and made sure my wife got exactly what she wanted. 5 stars to her. Normally the meals are excellent, tonight was a bit of a letdown for me. I got the special, sea scallops on bed of corn, in a cream sauce with feta. Everything was cooked very well, however, everything was overwhelmed by the Cajun or southwestern spice that was applied with too much gusto. Normally I do not give chain restaurants 5 stars, but these Darden restaurants have upped their game. We had several dishes here and all were very well executed. The start was the bread and dip that comes complementary and was devoured. Drink specials looked too good to pass and some had the berry martini special. I had the ahi poke bowl as I wanted flavorful but not to heavy--the tuna was fresh and had many layers of flavor. Would make a good takeout dish. The fish tacos looked great where there were lg fish chunks grilled w mango. The black cod special was nicely done as well. Parking lot was packed but we were easily at a table w no wait. Last but not least, our server was fantastic and made the best suggestions. Definitely would be back as it was great quality (consistently according to my friends that had been here many times), good value and great service--trifecta. read more

I've been to Bonefish Grill locations in Gaithersburg, MD, Wilmington, DE, and now Johnson City, TN. I appreciate how consistently good my experiences have been no matter the location! We were in town from Maryland for a wedding the next day and got in very late (it's a long drive after work). Even though it was nearing closing the staff was very happy to serve us and never rushed us at any point during our meal. The crab corn chowder is always a favorite, as is the fresh bread! We also can never resist the coconut shrimp. A party member ordered the lobster tails which were steamed perfectly and the kitchen was happy to accommodate making lemon butter without garlic (as it usually comes) to due food allergies. The fish and chips were out of this world! I don't think we could have personally fried the fish with more care if we had done it ourselves. The kitchen was also happy to make me the Lilly's chicken, but with salmon substituted instead-- you really cannot go wrong. If you like spinach, goat cheese, or artichoke hearts, you have to get something on the menu "Lilly-ed" it is perfectly balanced and so flavorful! It might even be good for you too ;) I would definitely come back to this location if I was in Johnson City for anything again. read more

Not because I was at a great restaurant with excellent service and wonderful management only but, because the food was really good and the day was awesome. Alex who I think is a manager was wonderful. All of his staff were excellent. I actually felt like royalty. Well let me describe my food experience. So . . . I love seafood and this is the only seafood place that was open in another town for date night. We went to Bonefish Grill and I got Filet Mignon and he ordered the Fish n Chips. We both got drinks which were great. On the other hand . . . My filet. I first cut into it the first time it was blue rare. I had it sent back and a new steak cooked. It came back rare and then a third time to recook it and it still came back rare. I ordered medium rare. I could not finish my filet and was shocked that they charged me to recook something they had messed up three times already. I will not be going back. 1/4 of my steak was cooked decent and the 3/4 was not done at all. And it was a 7oz steak. Highly disappointed. read more

This was not only appalling and embarrassing for the kitchen to send, but the waitress should have refused to bring it. My fiancé asked for his steak medium and it arrived medium rare. Our small town doesn't have a good seafood restaurant so we always travel the 60 mile round trip to visit Bonefish in JC. Our family knows this so we get gift cards regularly for special occasions. After years of exceptional food and service, we have been disappointed with both the last couple of visits. Last night was my birthday dinner but unfortunately we didn't know it was Tequila and Tapas event as well. But service was not good. Kitchen out of fried shrimp at 6:15, so settled for fish instead,husband's French Fries were cold and tasted old and it took 5 minutes to get server back and another 10 to get fresh fries. By that time I was almost finished with my meal so it wouldn't get cold. Chilean sea bass was over cooked and chewy, broccoli was very underdone, and small scoop of garlic potatoes was not as good as we've had before. Certainly not worth $37.50.
