I'm a snoot when it comes to chains. I prefer dingy family restaurants on sketchy side streets over nationally known eateries in strip malls, but Bonefish has lowered my sky-high nose. First of all, our server Kevin was amazing. He eloquently described everything on the menu and even warned my mother that the fish tacos contain cilantro when she ordered them. My mother loathes cilantro and therefore asked for the cilantro-dotted mango salsa on the side. Kevin is, like, a mind reader. My family of four split two Bang Bang Shrimp appetizers. The fried, spicy blobs sat in sundae cups atop lettuce shreds and expanded my growling tummy before my entree arrived. I melted into the wolf fish special. Crab, shrimp and cheese were stuffed into the firm yet flaky fish. A side of asparagus and a chickpea/andouille sausage/spinach mixture added symmetry to the plate. We split a huge boat of creme brulee, topped with blueberries. The only thing that weirded me out was the entrance's revolving door. Dark, takeoff-sounding and spaceship-like, it nearly induced a panic attack. Yet, Bonefish is like entering another restaurant chain world, so I get what they're going for. read more

This used to be our place but quality was slipping tonight. We had water with no lemons but the server brought out a small plate of about 5 or 6 lemon wedges. Not bad just curious. The food took a while to come out. The broccoli wasn't steamed, chicken was dry, and our avocado was grey instead of green. Everything was remedied as much as it could have been but it was just a let down. read more

Great food!! This is my favorite place to go and just order appetizers and fun cocktails. I also really love the ambience the dimly lit bar and the tables. Everything is always perfect servers are always nice my only complaint is the last time we were there some dumbass parent was letting their screaming loud child play in the revolving door, and no one that worked there asked them to stop so that we could continue to enjoy our nice lovely late lunch date at an adult restaurant. Enjoyed this spot while on a trip. Tables were overflowing with people, inside and outside so I had to check it out. After being seated, I was served by waitress, Kate who indicated super busy because of Wednesday night specials. Ambiance Came for dinner and ambiance was dim and lit by candlelight . All decor was devoted to a fish theme to match the name, simple. Paper on tables made it in between cleanings streamlines the process. Food Warm bread & pesto...A little on the salty side but still good Bang Bang Shrimp... This $5 special had a nice crisp on the shrimp, with mayo dressing and a bit of heat. Great texture to it and hits the "mmmm good" spot. Good dish, would order again. Atlantic Swordfish with Pumpkin Ravioli.... Take 1... Ravioli was awesome. Perfect blend of pumpkin and spices in a nicely packed ravioli. Fish was extremely dry and overcooked, Kate graciously took back to take another stab at it. Take 2.... I believe in second chances. Fresh new fish fillet and more ravioli (yummy!!). Perfectly cooked this time. Service Kate was awesome, she went above & beyond. There was just one time she missed the mark but considering I had 5-6 refills, I can't complain. Regarding entree order being returned, I received immediate attention. Fronthouse manager, AJ came out to check out table within 5 minutes of order return. So far that's an "A" for service excellence. Parking Located in large shopping plaza. So more than adequate parking. OVERALL Food and service were above par. With a vibrant bar scene and bustling restaurant, I can understand why its so popular. Honestly, SO surprised to find out that this is a chain. Stopped here for happy hour / dinner on a business trip and was blown away. Sara, my server, was so incredibly attentive... constantly bringing me new glasses of ice that melted so quick in the warm weather on the patio. She recommended the lobster roll and it may have been the best lobster roll I've ever had. Highly recommend! Especially with Sara as your server! read more

First time visit to Bonefish. Arrived at 12.30ish for lunch. Seated straightaway - no wait. Waitress was nice and bubbly...too bad her attention to us was not as good...forgot to bring our appetizer and bread...food was good/average...about 3/4 of the way through lunch...our waitress starting asking if she could box our lunches up to go???? She did this twice. I would dine here again, but only if someone else's treat. read more

Yes, I hate chains. Yes, I understand that Bonefish is a chain. But when I'm traveling for work, which is all the time, I sometimes crave the familiar and don't feel like doing the research or taking chances with random places like I would at home. That being said - Bonefish is my go-to comfort spot on the road. They've had this special orange roughy topped with lump crab served or spinach with a lemon garlic sauce and it's awesome. Every time they have it I order it. Seabass is also pretty good. Unlike most people I don't love the bang bang shrimp, but I don't generally eat fried food. read more

The Dining Divas went to lunch Wednesday March 11th at Bonefish Grill on Gunbarrel Rd. There were 12 of us and since they accept reservations our table was waiting on us when we got there. THEY ARE NOW OPENED FOR LUNCH. The atmosphere is very nautical and you just know you are about to have a great dining experience. Our servers, Flexis and Hams were excellent doing their jobs. They brought complimentary bread and had a vast knowledge of the menu. We didn't have to ask for a thing, it was like they knew what would be asked for and brought it before we had to ask. They are great access to the restaurant. The menu has anything you could want at a seafood restaurant. Everything from the Bang Bangs Scrimp to the Cod Fish and fries were absolutely delicious. The Lobster Bisque, which is new on the menu, was the best I have ever had with lots of large chucks of lobster. The manager, Colby, came to our table to inquire about our experience. It is the first time in a long time that we didn't have even the slightest complaint. We got Bonefish Grill a 5 out of 5. I will be going back just for the Lobster Bisque even if I have to get it to go. Everything we experienced was wonderful!! My mom and I checked this place out on a Saturday night. The place was packed. They served warm fresh bread and I think we both could have been happy eating that! We did share a seafood special for 2 - which has a range of 5 different fishes. It was a perfect size sample and portion for us but not for a man who has a appetite. I'm not big on going to chain restaurants but if you are looking for a nicer place than other chain restaurants, this is a good option. read more

My husband and I have been to the Chattanooga area Bonefish Grille twice, and both times we have been pleased by the quality and service for the money. The fresh seafood specials have been well-executed, and the wait staff had been knowledgeable about the menus and its features whenever asked. I have had Tuna steak and Mahi, and my husband has tried the lobster. We were both satisfied with the quantity and quality of food. The bang bang shrimp appetizer was excellent, and the Wednesday night bang-bang special made the price just right! The variety of sides and sauces also made the meal terrific. read more

Wanted to try this place again and was prompted to do so when I got a birthday offer for Bang Bang Shrimp. It looked good so I thought I'd give it a try for lunch on 12/29/17 @12:00. The place was not crowded at all and very quiet. The waitress took my order right away. I ordered "The Mule", Bang Bang Shrimp, and a house salad. Then the waiting began.........It wasn't an unreasonable amount of time before the waitress brought my salad and drink. It's a good thing too bc the bread was so hard I ended up cutting it into pieces and using it as croutons in my salad. I didn't like that the water was poured without ice and ice was not offered but since she brought the mule so quickly I just used the ice from it. The mule was a mini mule, literally half the size of a standard copper mug and completely full of ice so I may have had an actual 3oz. of beverage. The citrus dressing was great and probably my favorite part of the meal. After a half hour she finally brought my shrimp. It was ok but the sauce is so heavy and mayo based that I didn't eat all of it. Then I waited almost another half hour for my ticket. The waitress walked by my table dozens of times (there were very few other customers to wait on) but never once checked in with me to see if I needed anything or if my meal was ok. I personally feel that I was snubbed because of a clear gap in class. I'm thinking that because I asked to use a birthday certificate it was assumed that I was out of my league. I tipped 35% anyways and after an hour and half I left with no intentions of returning. read more

We decided to try the eggs Benedict. Don't go to a fish house and order a dish too far outside of their specialty. Eggs were cooked till hard, just a dab of hollandaise on top and no hint of tartness that makes a good hollandaise sauce. The English muffin was so hard it could have been used as a hockey puck. My wife and I at there last night, let me just start off by saying it was 100% amazing. Our waiter was friendly and attentive but not over bearing like most can be at other restaurants. We never got over half way empty with our drinks unless we chugged it and he would appear to refill them. We got the bang bang shrimp appetizer and that's were the amazement started it was so good. Following that my wife got the Wagu beef burger and fries (which she loved) and I got the imperial lobster tail I believe it was called with the applewood bacon Mac n cheese and garlic whipped potatoes, though I'm pretty sure if it's not the most expensive it's really close to it. After it arrived with a tea candle holder to keep my butter warm I took one bite and was in heaven. To break it down it's lobster tail, crab, shrimp, and scallops with a few other ingredients stuffed into a lobster tail. If I hadn't been so full I would easily of paid it twice over to eat it again which I will upon going back which we will be again very soon! read more

Some people shun chains. I shun some chains, but Bonefish is one chain I am happy to see when I visit a new city. Tonight I enjoyed a nice dinner at Bonefish's Chattanooga restaurant, adjacent to Highland Place Mall. The service at the bar was superb, and the Imperial Atlantic Tilefish special, stuffed with crab meat, scallops, and shrimp was wonderful at $19.30. Bonefish in general has mastered the restaurant business. Caring and knowledgeable staff who are appropriately attentive serving up a wonderfully prepared variety of food makes for a consistently good dining experience from location to location. Before you totally rule out chains, give Bonefish a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

Excellent service and excellent food! Staff is friendly and attentive. Servers give you undivided attention, even when the restaurant is packed. Drinks are also delicious (love the tropics heat martini). Also loved that you could swap chicken in for the bang bang shrimp. Bathrooms are clean and so is the dining room. Went here with a work group and had been here several times before. As normal, good food, good service. Our steaks were done more than we ordered. The bang bang shrimp, bacon scallops, and ahi tuna were all great. The desserts were not as large as some American size but still pretty big. Overall, recommend but be willing to send red meat back if overcooked. read more

Poor service when the waiter forgets your beer order and lemon for our water but has the time to chit chat with another customer at a table nearby. My wife order the cod and the breading was horribly greasy, obviously not cooked properly. The Jasmin rice was cold and flavorless (lacked any hint of lime). This not the first time that the service was lacking. I fear the food and service are on a downhill slide. We wont be going back there anytime soon. read more

Very good experience here. Good service, good food and a great value for the price. I had the mussels to start and grilled rainbow trout as an entrée. Our complaints lie primarily with the servers; one will be great, and the next had trouble understanding the difference between salt and pepper. Ordered the BFG tuna steak and eggs, and the tuna was brown and pale grayish. No pink at all. I ordered the steak medium rare. My boyfriend ordered the Johnny cakes with shrimp and bay scallops, but was barely any seafood in the cakes at all. Food quality not that good for price. read more

So went there for Valentine's day with my hubby around 9pm. We put in our orders, and when my order came to the table it was wrong. Originally I had ordered the grilled trout with lemon butter sauce. Manager came by and asked if it was okay, so I asked if the "Parmesan and Pecan" crusted trout had any flour on it. Manager replied with a no. It was only crusted with a mixture of Panko and pecan. Firstly, Panko has flour in it. So I told him that I was asking because although the order was wrong, I wouldn't have cared to keep it if it was low in carbohydrates. We ended up sending it back. About 10 minutes later, my correct order came back. I took one bite and I had a mouth full of bones. Not one bone or two or three. Many and many bones. So the manager comes back over about five minutes later and asks if everything is good. I told him about the bones. His response was.. " oh fish has bones sometimes". Are you fucking kidding me? So you serve your guests parts of fish that's loaded with bones when they order a fillet? I understand that mistakes happen and once in a while you get a bone still attached to your fish, but not multiple bones. I lost my appetite. They ended up not charging me for the plate of food, but honestly, I didn't care much if they did or didn't. I just really don't like that this manager guy was being a smart ass. As a first turn goer my boyfriend and I had high hopes and expectations going in. We waited 15+ minutes before a waitress took our food and drink order. The waitress wasn't very attentive and seemed a bit on edge. When our food came, the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos I ordered with without tomatoes(which were great, and nicely flavored) came with a load of tomatoes and in edition one of the three tacos I ordered had only 2 shrimp on it. My boyfriends Pork Chops seemed well flavored but that was masked by the chard grill taste. Management was very accommodating and made sure we knew that this was well below their stand if excellance. My wife and I were at the Chattanooga location this evening and absolutely loved our experience there. First of all, a huge thank you to Mario, our waiter. Very pleased with his demeanor, knowledge of the food and descriptions of the different sauces..tremendous attitude and all around being genuine. Now, that being said, I lived in south Florida for 33 years with seafood restaurants every where. After moving up here four years ago and greatly missing fresh seafood this place is Fantastic. The calamari was spot on for taste. Our main courses were again, spot on. Loved the grilled fish.
