We ordered tonight via UberEats. Usually the quality of food is spot on. Today was a complete disaster! To start, I had to call the restaurant to ask if the sour cream could be placed on the side. This should be a no brainer for restaurants. Add the option to put the sour cream on the side via the UberEats app. We placed an order for two orders of Bang Bang shrimp tacos with a side of fries. Our shrimp was severely over cooked! And so was an order of fries. I now have to hope Uber gives us our money back. Because I don't tolerate mediocrity, uber is upset that I complain about every order that meets my expectations. Well, I won't stop! Prices have increased and people are expecting restaurants to provide the same level of service as they would a customer dining in! If you won't give me the proper service I paid for, I'm going to complain every time! Bonefish normally doesn't send out this level of quality. So quite a while back, when there were no Bonefish Grills in this area, my mom wrote the company and suggested they open one near us in Naperville. They wrote back and said that Naperville's demographics didn't warrant opening one (translation: either they were too afraid of all the competition and/or didn't want to pay the rent prices). So instead, they opened this location in...Algonquin? In an outdoor shopping mall that presently has a sadly high quotient of empty store fronts. Anyway. We have been to a bunch of Bonefishes in the past (mostly in Florida but also the one in Schaumburg) but finally decided to see what the big fuss was about in Algonquin. The first thing I have to say is please lose the revolving door. It's a hazard to someone with a cane, and on the way out a lady tried to cram herself in before I even got out of it! (Common sense, people!) They're awkward at best and dangerous at worst. We arrived for an early dinner but there were a handful of people in the dining room as well. It's dim but not dark with big clubby booths (just watch the step down when you get out). Always get the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer; it's a consistently good choice! We all chose cold water lobster tails (you can get one or two), which come with their own small heated metal dish of drawn butter. The lobster meat was tender and sweet, and with a side of parsley-flecked jasmine rice it was the ideal entree. We finished with a good vanilla creme brulee, but my dad also got a small box of chocolates since it was his birthday (it was nice that they are low-key here for birthdays, so if you don't want a boatload of waiters singing at your table, this is a good option, yet it still acknowledges you in some way). We had good service from our waitress and other staff, and the prices here are always reasonable. It's unfortunate that we have to drive so far in one direction or another to come to one of these restaurants; maybe they'll change their mind and build a closer location some time soon! read more

We have always LOVED Bonefish. Everything has been perfect in the past - especially the food! Last night, a Tuesday, we walked in without a reservation and we were set a a cozy table quiet table in the back. As usual the service and ambiance were excellent. Loved the bread and delicious pesto oil dip!!! When our dinner was served my salmon (fire-grilled) was dry and over cooked (broccoli cooked to order perfectly but the creamy Parmesan risotto seemed to have red flecks in it and had a hot spice in it (not mentioned on the menu). Very disappointing! The server mentioned the menu said BOLDLY SPICED, but boldly spiced has never meant hot SPICE to me. The server asked about a replacement and brought instead some delicious mashed potatoes as they couldn't bring some less spicy risotto. My husband's salmon was equally overcooked! The fish tacos were phenomenal. The Glenlivet was superb. My wife had the scallops and shrimp over linguine which turned into seconds a day later. Our friends had the Mahi Mahi. Which they loved. The garlic potatoes were delicious. The service was quick, friendly and courteous. Our server had a good sense of humor. What confused me was that when I called for reservations the person who answered said the soonest we could get a table for four was 6:30pm. Unless, we could get there at 4:45. Made some calls and hustled over to make 4:45. As we sat there until 7:00 or 7:30, the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. There were many, many tables open. Oh, well. Food was okay, my wife's poke bowl had some fishy tasting pieces and she didn't continue to finish. Told the waitress and she said she would tell the chef. We mentioned two times during the meal that it was not good. She did nothing : no discounts or removal off the bill since my wife didn't eat 80% of it. The booth we sat in had a smell of old fish which had gone bad. Strong seafood smell when we arrived, but we ignored it. I guess we shouldn't have. Will not be returning. read more

We just had dinner here tonight and we were extremely happy with it. I called earlier to make a reservation and requested a table close to the entrance for my dad who was accompanying us as he uses a walker. We ordered three appetizers, crab cakes, calamari and potstickers. All were super yummy. Unfortunately they were out of scallops (the main reason why we came as dad wanted scallops) but super accommodating and apologetic that they didn't have any. No worries! The food and drinks we had were great. The BEST part of the whole evening was our waiter Oscar (assisted by Artem) and they were spectacular! Oscar was friendly, attentive but not obtrusive. He gave great suggestions and really elevated our whole experience. It's a chain and typically avoid chains like a plague but Oscar will have us coming back for sure. Being a weekend evening I had my fears that we might have a long wait but we got lucky we got seated promptly. The food we ordered was delicious and fresh. Bang bang shrimp ,Lily's chicken , tuna steak and crispy chicken on bed of fine noodles . The food came out hot and everything was good the portions are nice . With sides of au gratin , vert beans and asparagus. For dessert we ordered coconut pie it was sooooo good and seasonal creme brûlée . The server Mr Jherson was very nice and prompt . My friend and I went here for happy hour and I gotta say their selection is pretty good. It was my frist time at a Bonefish Grill and I liked the upscale, but cozy vibe. Although, they lost a star because they didn't have sparkling wine on the happy hour, I did enjoy the crispy broccoli and the cod filet sliders appetizers. We also got shrimp toast, but didn't manage to get a photo of it. I will definitely be returning with my boyfriend to try more items on the menu. read more
