Dishonest business and unsafe for you pets. If you care about your fur babies at all, DO NOT take them here. My dog came back from doggie day care on two different occasions with his collar ripped off with puncture marks in them (a week a part). These were thick, leather collars too. The staff had "no idea" what happened and made up excuses. The first time, it was because it was an old collar, okay, sure. The second time, when it was a brand new collar, they said another dog may have been "attracted" to the leather but it was nothing to worry about. Um, why are you guessing? Don't you know what's happening to my dog under your care? Isn't that what I'm paying you for? The third time it happened (when their solution was to keep his collar off during his stay and they promised to monitor him better) my dog came back with puncture wounds all over his neck, side, and legs. Again, they "no idea" what happened. My dog had also been to the groomer before I arrived and nobody reported anything. How do you not notice a dog being attacked on multiple occasions? Or blood? Or missing chunks skin? Are you even watching the animals? I noticed the blood immediately. He has short fur, and it's not hard to see. I felt so guilty for leaving my dog in their negligent care. I never got a straight answer. They told me they'd question the staff/look into it and then get back to me. They told me they compensate me for all the broken collars. NONE of those things happened. My dog is a loving, mellow dog who deserves a safe place to play and make friends. I understand things happen, but, I gave them one chance too many, and my dog paid the price for my misplaced trust. His fur still hasn't grown back completely, and he has scars that will never go away. Beware of trusting your dog's safety with Bone Sweet Bone. read more

My first time at this groomer and I was a very disappointed in the service they gave grooming my dog. I asked for a summer shave all over except for his head. When I went in to pick him up, they wanted to charge me an additional $5 for the flea bath which I had declined earlier that day. When I asked why the price I was paying was still more than I was quoted, they said that the dog weighed more than 20 lbs. which he doesn't... my dog is medium sized and weighs no more than 20 lbs - poodle, bischon mix. I also thought it was strange that they wouldn't bring him out until the transaction went through for payment. So I couldn't even inspect him there when I was picking him up. When I got him home, I noticed that the cut was uneven in many areas around his feet - pieces of longer hair left, the area around his mouth where there are brwn hairs left untrimmed and his tummy was not shaved at all. Not what you expect when you pay $57.00 (not including tip). So when I called to let them know and I was upset at the situation, the manager said "You don't have to be HOSTILE with me". I had to let her know that someone who is hostile is not the right term to use for any client especially since they messed up. She told me to take pics and send it to the owner, Santiago for review. I can let you know right now that I don't expect to hear from anyone from this location. They are unprofessional and use a lot of excuses without an apology. There are many other establishments that have better customer service for myself as well as my dog. I wished this location would take better care of the animals they have in doggie day care and grooming. read more

My dog is a rescue and has a lot of fear and anxiety about grooming. Even when I try to do anything like brushing him he shivers and shakes. But I was forced to find a groomer when he found some poo in the park and rolled in it. it got deep into his neck hair and I couldn't get it all out. This happened on a Monday and the first two groomers recommended by friends that I tried were closed on Mondays. Then I thought a home/mobile grooming service would be best, but the one recommended to me was unavailable that day as well. So I looked up on Yelp and found Bone Sweet Bone had mostly high recommendations and I liked the fact that their waiting time was about half of some of the places - I didn't want to leave my dog for 4-5 hours, and Bone Sweet Bone said 2 - 2 1/2. So I went in, explained in detail my dog's history, his fear/anxiety and to be especially careful/gentle with him and if he freaked at all to just stop and call me. They were super nice in the front reception area, took him in the back and said he was doing fine. FOUR hours later I called, wondering why it was taking so long. They told me he had peed on himself and they'd had to re-wash him. They also asked me about any old injuries to his leg. What? Nothing. Never. They said that when they were washing him, they had revealed, washed off an old scar/scab (???) and just wanted me to be aware of it. When I went to pick him up, he was moving around, people were waiting behind me, and she kind of showed me the OLD wound on his leg. Okay, I thought, how strange. Got my dog home and took a better look at him and realized the gash wasn't the only thing wrong. The inside of his left leg had all these bright red angry hairless patches on it. I thought they might be hot spots from his anxiety, licking, etc. But the next day my dog was LIMPING. I called my vet and immediately took him in. The vet told me those were all FRESH injuries, including the gash. The groomer had clearly lied about "revealing an old wound" during the wash process? I felt like an idiot for believing them. After shaving and treating the injured leg, the vet couldn't pinpoint what exactly caused it since we couldn't see the facility - could've been from a bad scrape or the dryer. I don't think the groomer abused my dog, but I do think that my dog either struggled or jerked and got injured with a grooming tool (they told me they got a lot of his undercoat off - could they have used a harsh metal comb and he got hurt that way?). They also told me he freaked when they tried to dry him so they had to use a slow drier - I don't know what those look like, but it could've happened then. I'll never really know how it happened, because they never told me the truth in the first place. All I know is the ONLY thing wrong with my dog when I took him in was poo in his fur. I got him back with a severe burn/scrape injury to his leg that got infected and forced me to make an emergency trip to the vet! He's on antibiotics for a week, anti-inflammatories for the swelling, he's completely traumatized by the whole thing, and I will NEVER take him back to Bone Sweet Bone. A P.S. to this whole nightmare: I was telling some clients about my experience and they told me their docile German Shepherd had been injured by Bone Sweet Bone's mobile grooming service!!! They said the groomers had trimmed fur around his ear, which they never asked for and wasn't necessary, and cut his ear - again, forcing a trip to the vet to get it stitched up! What the hell???!!! And this place had 4 1/2 stars on Yelp! This is why I'm writing. To help others not suffer the same fate as my dog AND my friend's dog! From now on, I'm only using a mobile groomer where I can be present, an I've heard Kriser's has a window so you can view your dog the whole time. Or a do-it-yourself grooming place? Anyway, I'll never let this happen again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I was sent her by Wydler's who I trust. (They just opened their own boarding location so go there). It's no surprise that my dog got kennel cough. Now my poor little puppy becomes paralyzed with wheezing. We also had her groomed and when I asked for them to give her a cavalier King Charles spaniel cut her response was "she looks more terrier"...... That's not the point. So after I explained what I wanted that still just gave her a prison style shave. Poor thing doesn't have hair to keep her warm anymore. Her nail were so sharp after they cut them too! Unfortunately, two weeks after my dogs were groomed there both dogs came down with severe ear infections-the vet said it happens when floppy ear dogs are groomed by inexperienced groomers who leave water in their ears. :( we won't be back. read more

I've been getting my cockers groomed at Bone Sweet Bone for years because I liked the way the groomer (Edson) cut them. But this time I asked for a puppy cut for my beautiful, long-haired blonde cocker and what I got back was my dog completely shaved. I could tell Santiago, one of the owners, knew I wouldn't like it before he even brought my dog out. I was extremely upset, but instead of getting apology, the only response I got was a defense on what they did. If you want to keep a client, you apologize and offer to give their money back. I rescued my dog Zoe from the shelter this year, and she definitely has a history of abuse. She's terrified of people (mostly men) and is very untrusting. She has severe separation anxiety from me as well. I was worried about having her in daycare but she does absolutely amazing at Bone Sweet Bone! I've never heard a single bad thing, and I feel so comfortable knowing that while I'm working or away for the day, she is playing and not stuck in her crate! The people in the front could not get any sweeter, and they are so kind towards Zoe when she shakes or becomes scared when we first walk in. I have nothing but good things to say. I took my dog to Bone Sweet Bone beginning about a month ago, and I loved it. That is until last week....I had my dog boarded for a few days and I also had him groomed that day I picked him up. I noticed a little bit later that he had nicks all over his back legs. I gave Santiago a call the next day when they were open, to make him aware that my dog had suffered several nicks on his back legs from grooming. Through a series of phone calls, nothing was resolved. The groomer and Santiago both denied that the nicks were not a result from his grooming....well they sure as heck weren't there before I dropped him off! I realize mistakes happen and I am understanding of it. Had they realized their mistake and owned up to it, apology would have been accepted and I would not be writing this review. The fact that they are both denying it, only tells me that they are careless liars that don't give a crap about my dog's well-being. Do not take your dog here!! Thanks to Santiago and his crappy groomer that thinks he is too good to own up to his mistakes and lie, my week was ruined. After having tried every other place in and around Studio City and vowing never to go any of them ever again for fear of my dog's well being, Santiago and his crew answered my prayers. He has been a god send to me and my dog and I honestly do not know what I would do without him. This is the only place my dog has ever liked going to on this side of the hill. They take care of him like he was their own. He goes to Bone Sweet Bone everyday and I am comforted knowing that when he is not with me, he is with the lovely people at Bone Sweet Bone. This is the worst haircut I think a dog could ever get. I explain to the lady that I want just a light cut. Not only can they not listen to directions they cut my dogs hair all uneven and it looks terrible at best. It looks like a five year old cut his hair. I have a disabled puppy who was starting to destroy my house out of boredom while I was at work all day. I called BSB and asked if they would be willing to meet her and they said of course! My puppy has been going to BSB for about 2 months now and is a completely different dog. Not only does she get all her energy out, but she gets the much needed attention she craves. The staff is so helpful and understanding of her needs and they keep a close eye on her. They even take videos of her and show me how well she is doing. The whole staff is so friendly and I really feel like they care about my dog as much as I do. read more

I took my 4 month old malshi puppy for bath and grooming today, and spent about an hour or so, explaining exactly what i want, and showed them a picture, and repeated 10 times, that i want his face round the way it is, also for them not to cut the bangs and trim it just a little bit. There was even a a lady leaving with a similar dog, and i explained in details exactly what i didn't like on that dog, they said "the only reason we cut his hair like that, is because the owner asked us too". I was so heart broken when picking up my puppy he looked nothing like what i expected or asked. He has no bangs, his face looks square, and when i asked what happened were my instruction not clear enough, they replied we are very sorry, we do not understand why the groomer did this. I just really, really hope it grows back soon, and looks like what it was before. This post won't help my bad experience, but i'm hoping it'll help the next person who is considering taking their puppy to this place. read more

My roommate and I take our dogs here a couple days each week. Her large dog and my small puppy are cared for in separate indoor and outdoor areas, designated for large and small dogs. BSB is very close to our house and my office. They're busy, but the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the daycare packages are great. I switched to BSB after the last daycare accused my dog of being aggressive. He is a Husky and has high energy and his growling is a form of communication and not aggression. So far I LOVE this place and so does my dog. He never wants to leave when I come to pick him up. That is good sign. The staff understands Huskies, unlike the last daycare. The indoor/outdoor feature is great so dogs aren't cooped up all day in one room. Grooming service was excellent too. During blowing coat season, they spent a lot of time brushing him to minimize the shedding (which is next to impossible to do). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BSB for daycare and grooming. read more

Noelle is a genius!!!! She is the best groomer I have ever used. She is gentle and lovely and treats my dogs with respect and love every time they are in her hands. I have to admit, out of all doggy daycares and grooming places I have been to this is by far my favourite. When you first enter the store, not only do you find a great selection of products, but you may also be overwhelmed by feeling of being welcome with extreme kindness. The store is maintained clean and has great standards. I brought in my dog, Meaty, extremely playful 7 month pup and man was he happy. When I dropped him off I felt peace of mind knowing that not only is he being watched throughout the day but also at night. He had a numerous amount of dogs to play with and by the time I picked him up he could barely move because of how tired he was. Ever since the first time I took him to Bone Sweet Bone, the only consideration for grooming and daycare is now Bone Sweet Bone. In my opinion the prices are great and you get your moneys worth. I've only taken my dog here once but seeing how she emerged I am a fan! Typically my dog hates being groomed. She is ONLY happy at the Dog House but they are often booked up so I kind of have given up trying to take her there since it's tricky for me to book an appt a month out with my unpredictable work schedule. Luckily I found Dog Sweet Bone. I was the crazy dog lady who came in with my own dog shampoo (she has sensitive skin) and I made sure to let them know all the things which are important to me. They listened and took her away. I was panicked about what would happen since I have lost so much trust to groomers with so many bad experiences - but this was not to be! I picked up my dog and she looked beautiful and wasn't traumatized! She seemed happy! She was eager to get out of there- like she always is when I pick her up from anywhere - but she was fine and happy! The only negative is that i did ask for teeth brushing and they forgot to do it (I asked about how it went when I picked her up). That was annoying because she really needed it but I will chalk that up to them being overwhelmed by the crazy dog lady and make sure it doesn't happen again. I take both of my small dogs here. They always come back to me looking and smelling good, with tails wagging. They don't freak out in the car ride over anymore either! Incredible daycare. Some of the other day cares in the area have been getting pretty expensive. I found bone sweet bone and the savings definitely add up (we bring our dog to daycare 4 to 5 times a week). The facilities are just as nice as anywhere in area, if not nicer. There's also an outside area were the dogs can go, indoor outdoor is very cool, I don't feel guilty like my dog is been cooped up inside all day! We have taken our dog here for the last 2.5 years and love it. Every time he runs in and doesn't look back - he is just so excited to play! Santiago is great and very attentive to detail. The worst haircut my dog has ever had! It's just hair, so I'll get over it since it will grow back. However, I will not get over the fact that my dog got fleas for the first time in 2+ years of ownership. Expensive to treat, and my poor dog was miserable. I wanted some hair trimmed from around his nose, and they shaved him all the way down. His tail looks like a plume, as they didn't even bother to trim it, even after I'd specifically asked them to do so. Do yourselves a favor, and avoid this nightmare! read more

What a great doggie spa!!! My two pomerainians Trippy and Angel come here at least once a month with twigs and dreadlocks insitu from hiking, however Santiago and his great team of groomers turn these two terrors out to an amazing high standard, silky locks flowing and paws manicured to a level any Beverly hills house wife would be jealous of. I've been very happy taking my Min Pin to BSB for regular nail clippings for years, but it was now time for a much needed dental cleaning. Like many others, I was under the impression that the only real way to get my dog's teeth clean was a visit to the vet, have him knocked out and pay a hefty premium. But a friend who had been pleasantly surprised with her dog's results at BSB convinced me to give them a try first. I'm very pleased to say that I am now a member of the pleasantly surprised club too!! They took great care of him, as well as his nervous owner. My old guy left town and I have been looking for a new place. This one ain't it. Grooming was a disaster. they did not follow instructions and the cut was very uneven.
