Review, ey...It's a railway station. What do you expect?
It's the end - of the line, the Eastern suburbs line.
Here you'll find exits and toilets and station staff and even trains (highly recommend those if you wanna get in and out of Bondi Junction).
Good station. Nothing spectacular about it, but also nothing wrong with it. It's clean and it's spacious and it even serves you a coffee on the platform if you feel inclined.
There are monitors before the gates. Take a look at them, so you'll know when the next one leaves. Forget about running down the escalator if the train leaves in 1 min. You might take out a few of your fellow commuters on the way down. Trains leave from either platform. Once you're at the bottom of the longish escalators take a look at the monitor to see which platform the next train leaves from. Don't dash if you still have 5 minutes before departure.
I noticed many commuters not familiar with Bondi Junction station (backpackers?) don't see the departure monitor at the bottom end of the escalator indicating the time left before departure and arrow pointing to the platform. They see a train and assume it's leaving now, even if the monitor says 3 min. But hey, that's part of the fun, isn't it?
Bondi Junction station offers direct access to a big bus interchange (Bondi Beach anyone?). Be careful when exiting that interchange station, or you might get run over by a bus, which could be particularly embarrassing if you didn't put on your clean underwear that morning - remember what your grandma said?
In summary, BJ station is ok. Nothing too exiting, nothing to shabby either. read more
