Service was great. Food was tasty. Time it took to receive my sampler was decent. The interior looked clean. I would come back here for fried chicken.

This was another visit to this location before heading into Six Flags Magic Mountain. The restaurant is clean and has lots of seating. The food came out quick and very hot. The staff is friendly and provides tips if you need assistance. My family enjoys Bonchon and hopes they will open one in Ventura County someday.

Umm... I ordered 8 drumsticks and 5 chicken strips. The drumsticks were extremely dry and so tough they were difficult to chew. I took one bite and threw the entire order away. I've had Korean fried chicken many times, but this was by far the worst I've ever had. I don't know if this was just a one-time issue, but based on my experience, I unfortunately can't recommend this place.

Great option for quick Korean food. We've eaten at other Bonchon restaurants in other cities, so we were so happy they had one closer. It's a small clean establishment but it's big enough for a quick bite or for take out which is what we normally do. Best to order directly from their website. Staff is always friendly and the food is ready in a decent amount of time. Ours was ready in about 15-20min. We ordered the yum drum trio ( 3 chicken drumsticks, fries and a donut), bulgogi fried rice and the bao buns ( we chose the friend chicken). Everything was very flavorful. We especially love the friend rice, it's what we get every visit). We only wish the portions were a little larger. Would recommend trying Bonchon if you have a craving for quick Korean food.

What did I just stumble onto!?!? Twice fried chicken, so crunchy, so pure. Had the lunch special with 4 wings & 2 legs. Split the flavors into Soy Ginger & Spicy. The spicy I'd say was like a 3 out of 5 in heat, but a 5 out of 5 in flavor. A touch of sweet to cut the heat. I've had some spicy k-fried chicken wear my lips burned for an hour lol, this one is palatable and delicious! The soy ginger is salty goodness, perfect for someone who wants to venture a step beyond the Classic Crunch. My personal choice for next time would be the fries over the Korean style street corn. If you've had esquites from your local street vendor, you'll feel the same. The portions here are hella generous for the price; lunch special is $11.99 for a variety of chicken combos and a side. I appreciate the choice of bottled or soda machine for my soda; I'm a bottle person. They have Pepsi for your carbonated needs. The crunch on this chicken is something special. Particularly on the legs. It gives the full ASMR experience! The female cashier was super welcoming and helpful. We were hesitant on what flavor to choose, and she offered a two flavor split. She also noticed my wife didn't order a drink and offered a water cup. It's the little things, but oftentimes I have to ask for basic necessities. The restaurant has several booths or regular table seating. The atmosphere is fun and exciting, just like the chicken! The cashier kept it moving as well, making sure the restaurant was clean and checking on all the customers. For the out of towners making a pit stop but want something special for the road, or a local in need of some comfort food, this is the spot. It's not quite as fast as "fast food" (crispy chicken takes time), but it is oh so worth the teensy wait!

Stopped by Bonchon and had such a great first impression. The service was genuinely friendly and the whole place had a neighborhood vibe -- you could tell the staff know their regulars because people kept popping in just to say hello. The space is lively (a little loud), so conversations can be a bit challenging, but the energy adds to the fun atmosphere. There's plenty of parking and the restaurant has indoor dining with both booths and tables. I only tried the bao buns this visit and wow -- total flavor explosion. I ordered two and instantly wished I had ordered more. They also have a lot of drink options to choose from, which is nice. Already planning my next visit to try the chicken wings (I hear they're huge) and the dumpling soup. Looking forward to round two!

TL;DR: Packed even near closing, but the fried chicken was pretty good. Corn dog was underwhelming. I'd give it a 3.5, but rounding up for the crispy chicken. ------ This spot is located in a large shopping strip mall and follows a fast-casual setup where you order at the counter and seat yourself. When I came close to closing, the place was still packed. Right after we ordered, it took a few minutes to find a booth, but we eventually got one as a family was finishing up. The fried chicken was definitely the highlight. It had a super crispy skin and a satisfying crunch. The seasoning leaned a bit salty, but overall it was flavorful and well-cooked. I'd come back just for that. The Korean corn dog, however, didn't really deliver. It was smaller than I expected and felt overpriced for what it was, even though the outside had a good crunch. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5 out of 5. I'm rounding up to 4 because the chicken was solid and worth trying, but I'd be a little more cautious about the rest of the menu.

We came back tonight for the third time, unfortunately, it took about 10 minutes for somebody to come to the counter to take our order. The napkin dispenser was empty . When things like this get neglected, it doesn't bode well for a new restaurant. We ordered the bulgogi tacos, the street corn and some wings. The food was served piping hot and everything tasted great!

No longer do we have to drive to k-town for Bonchon. First time at this location and will definitely be going back. Food: quality of the food was excellent. Super fresh. Service: Service was great. The young man taking my order was super patient and answered all my questions. All his recommendations were perfect Ambiance: love the ambiance with the big screen TVs playing k-pop. Love the energy of this restaurant. We will definitely be putting Bonchon on our weekly rotation =) Cheers!!

First and sadly my last time visiting Bonchon. It sucks that they have whitewashed the flavors so much just because it's located in a suburban American city. We stopped by for a late lunch and ordered the small drumsticks with yangnyeom, chicken strips with soy garlic, and tteokbokki, which totalled $43 or so. Everything came out fast which was nice. The drumsticks are HUGE. You rearely see drumsticks that size so it was nice and even the small was a good amount to share. They are fried really well and get so crispy, while the meat is juicy, so that was definitely the best part. The flavor, better than the soy garlic, was still fairly mild. You didn't get that bold, powerful flavoring like you find at most korean fried chicken spots. So that was a let down. The chicken strips were a total fail. As you can see in my picture - how are those strips? They're more like oblong chicken patties. They weren't crispy, not hot, and hardly any flavor. You had a mild scent of garlic and that's about it. The tteokbokki was very disappointing as well. It wasn't hot and the cheese wasn't even melted. There were more fishcakes than rice cakes, and the sauce was not spicy at all. It was pretty bland. And it was filled with grilled onions and peppers. The texture of the rice cakes were decent, not too chewy and had a good bite. Overally, this just isn't it and I'll stick to Koreatown for the Korean foods.

I've only ever tried this chain in San Diego a few years ago while visiting some friends. It was super good even though we only got some small bites at the time like fries and I think they're fried chicken (barely remember anymore). Our friends were also only there for the $2 Sapporo deal that they had. While trying to figure out what to have for lunch, I browsed through nearby spots and this one came up! Oddly enough, my bf and I are always in this area and didn't notice this spot till now. Luckily it was super close to Dirty Dough since we were there for a Yelp Event so it was the perfect pick up food to take home! It's in a nice place with tons of parking. We managed to park up front which had a 30 minute green zone. We walked in and were greeted by Nick who was super helpful and patient with our order since I wasn't too sure about what to eat and if the corn was a cob or cup lol. We ordered a bibimbap, street corn cup, kimchi, pickled radish, and bulgogi stir fry udon! There weren't many people at the time, maybe like two other parties. It's very bright and the walls are loud in a good way, with art. The food came out really quick and we were out there in no time! They have a nice utensil system where it's a dispenser like they have at Disneyland. Took the food home to enjoy, and honestly my favorite thing was really the kimchi and pickled radish! The kimchi wasn't spicy at all which was perfect for me, super flavorful and not "sour". The pickled radish was also milder than most places which was fantastic! Some places have really "stinky" radish but they're very good. This one didn't really smell at all and had great flavor! Overall I really enjoyed the bulgogi udon since you don't see that too often, always rice bowls or just on its own. My bf enjoyed his bibimbap as well and completely devoured it while I had the rest of mine even for dinner lol! Plenty of food to me and the street corn was absolutely delicious. Love how wet and cheesy it was!! Super flavorful and looking forward to coming back here soon. Glad it's basically near us! IG: @ammysalamii

We wanted to try something different that neither of us have been to. Bonchon has more selections when it comes to food compared to their competitor. Bb.q. We came here for dinner and as soon as we got there the place was somewhat empty except a table that was being occupied by a family. We ordered: Bibimbap with bulgogi - too much rice but good amount of everything else. The bulgogi was pretty good. Bulgogi tacos - perfect size and very flavorful Korean Donut - imagine a regular twisted Donut with cinnamon sugar. It was decent. Tasted better with the dip that it comes with The service was great. Price was good. Will definitely come back again to try something else.

Bonchon in Korean translates to "my hometown". If you're craving K-fried chicken, check out this place in our local bonchon. The soy garlic drumsticks are my favorite. It's so huge and filling coated with sweet and savory goodness. The japchae was a good side dish but kinda pricey for the portion we got. Kimchi fried rice was good, especially after adding the fried egg on top. Don't forget the radishes for that extra crunch! Can't wait to go back for more and try the other flavors! Place was super clean and service was friendly.

Is the chicken skin crispy or is it pale white and steamed under the batter?

    Crispy

Anyone know what is the difference between strips and boneless?

Both have no bone in them. Strips are almost like chicken strips, like slabs of chicken, while the boneless are basically balls of chicken. Both are very good, though I recommend the boneless.

Definitely eat here…read more This place if ALWAYS fantastic and clean and has really hard workers that are always working steadily. Especially the Mexican woman and the Chinese woman. They have strong ethic and great customer service. The only thing to be warned of is that it's very busy here and the food is prepared from scratch, so you will wait for your FRESHLY COOKED DELICIOUSNESS. I recommend the $12 sandwiches in the original or "secret sauce" if you're on a budget, but the rice bowl and wings are great for a higher price point. I tried the Caribbean flavored rice bowl today, to try a new flavor(they have like 14). I was spicy, savory, and was enough for two to three people. I also enjoyed their staple fried wings with "secret sauce," which also has a kick. It is made from a sort of hoison/soy sauce with a little spiciness. Very flavorful with every bite, and a few wings is filling. The onion rings and sweet potatoes were both fresh and supplemented the meal just right. They are busy here from open to close, due to their consistent quality, so hurry and get your order in before they sell out! Thanks BB.Q!

I believe our server's name was Hollyn. She asked us if we had ever been there before, and we said no. She offered to give us the spiel of how everything works but it seemed pretty straight forward. There were three menus - All You Can Eat, Adventures in Niku, and A la Cart. We opted for the AYCE premium at $50/person. We were told we can order 2 meats per person, and then as many sides as we wanted when we put in an order. We ordered: Garlic edamame, cheese corn, cucumbers, vegetable spring rolls, fried pork gyoza dumplings, toro beef, angus beef rib, New York steak, pork belly, shishito peppers, and a few other meat options that I can't remember from the AYCE menu. A la cart we ordered the garlic rice. From the Adventures in Niku menu we got the $2.50 Kirin drafts. My personal favorites were the Angus Beef Rib, garlic edamame, garlic fried rice, and lots and lots of s'mores! We were very impressed with our server because she was very present and not on autopilot. For example, when we put in our first order we ordered the garlic fried rice and a two steamed white rices. I believe when a different employee dropped off our meats, she said she was going to get the white rice but never came back. My partner and I didn't think anything of it because the garlic fried rice was so large, and we can always order more steamed rice if we really needed it. About halfway into our meal, our server looks at our food and goes "didn't you order 2 steamed rices in addition to the garlic fried rice?!" I said yes and she immediately went to go get it. It was really nice to see that she wasn't just putting orders in as she heard them, but she was actually fully present and listening to what the order was and then doing mental checks to see if we had received everything. She was fantastic! In addition to our server, I noticed that there were bussers who would walk around looking for empty plates to remove. This really helped with keeping our table as empty as possible for all the food that we ordered. Overall, the food was something fun and different than we're used to. However, the stand out for me were the friendliness and efficiency from all the employees.

First, I would like to say that my family and I have dined at your restaurant on several occasions and have always had positive experiences. We have enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service, which is why the experience we had last night was particularly disappointing. My family and I visited your establishment again and ordered from the à la carte menu. After we had finished most of our meal and paid our bill, some members of our party, including my brothers, were still enjoying their sake and finishing their drinks. To our surprise, a staff member approached us and asked us to leave the restaurant. While I understand that it was a busy evening and that there may have been other customers waiting for tables, I found it inappropriate and unprofessional to be asked to leave when we were still consuming items we had legitimately purchased. We did not order from an all-you-can-eat menu, which typically has a clearly stated time limit. As paying customers dining from the regular menu, we reasonably expected to be allowed to finish our food and beverages without feeling rushed or pressured to leave. What was most disappointing was the manner in which the situation was handled. Hospitality should include treating guests with courtesy and respect, regardless of how busy the restaurant may be. Being asked to leave while still finishing our drinks and foods left us feeling unwelcome and diminished what would otherwise have been an enjoyable dining experience. I hope you will address this matter with your staff and reinforce the importance of professional customer service and respectful communication. Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns. I would appreciate your acknowledgment of this complaint and any information regarding how this matter will be addressed. Sincerely, Carla

One page is the standard ones, like the Lion King, sumo rolls, 49er's, and the other page is their special rolls. Unlike last time that we tried a bunch of their special appetizers (and they are still the same on the menu), we tried the rolls and bento this time and I think I like that more. We ordered the Teena roll, the Gilbert roll, an order of salmon roe sushi, a side order of chicken fried rice, and a tempura bento. The rolls tasted good, soft and slightly chewy in the mouth with a blend of all the sashimi and crab meat and sticky Japanese rice. The tempura bento was sumptuous! It came with a bowl of miso soup, a bowl of white rice, 4 or 5 pieces of gyoza, a salad, cucumber, a pre-cut orange, and 8 or 9 pieces of tempura of a variety. My least favorite is probably the salmon roe sushi as I wish the roes look bigger and more orange-y. Service was great. Although we were told they were busy and we might have to wait a bit, food started to come in less than 5 minutes! We didn't get a water refill but the glass of water was big. Dirty dishes were taken away timely too. I've been abused by the Bay Area exorbitant prices for a long time, it was such a pleasure to see rolls priced at $15. So overall, it was a good dinner in town.
