This review is long overdue. My partner and I have been coming to Ananto ever since they opened in June 2024. It is a small, family owned business and our favorite local hidden gem. Every time we visit, it feels like we are visiting family. They quickly learned our order, and before we can even sit down they are on their way to get our Sapporos, miso soups and salads (which come with the sets). Our favorites to order are: Toro, Sweet Shrimp, Salmon Belly, Yellowtail Belly, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Squid Legs, and the 7 pc sushi set! What stands out the most about Ananto is the quality of the fish. I would even venture to say the quality of fish is better here, than some places I've had in Hawaii. Another thing I really enjoy about Ananto is, I can confidently say that the consistency has remained the same since day one. While the pricing may seem a bit steep at first, I do feel that it matches the quality of the food and the level of service that is provided, which is why we keep coming back. Overall, it's pretty clear this is my favorite sushi restaurant, and I'm super glad to have them so close to home!

Fresh! Clean! Staff super nice! Very delicious! 10 outta 10! Will most definitely come back again!

I'll start by saying I'm a picky sushi eater. I resisted eating sushi for the longest time, until I had some in Japan and realized, like one of those light-bulb moments, "Ah ha! THIS is why people love sushi!" Unfortunately, most sushi in the US doesn't compare at all to that in Japan. And even in Japan, I am picky and have had plenty of sushi there that's just "meh." So I was hopeful, but trying not to get my expectations too high, trying Ananto sushi for the first time. I came here with a friend and I ordered four pairs of sushi, plus edamame and a cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was a generous serving, as was the edamame. The sushi consisted of relatively small slices of fish, on very tiny mounds of rice. That said, the fish was AMAZING and the rice was delicious. In fact, I loved the sushi so much I ordered a second round, with all the same fish. I tried black snapper, halibut, yellowtail and kinmedai. I loved every piece. The fish was fresh, extremely tender, and a silky soft texture. Light, fine flavor. Each piece had a little wasabi between the rice and the fish, though you can ask for it without wasabi as well. Some of the fish had a little additional seasoning and the flavors all went together perfectly! The restaurant is located in a strip mall and it's small inside. Table seating, plus seating at the sushi bar. Limited choice of sodas (Coke, diet Coke, Sprite), but they have hot tea, and they have alcoholic options as well. It's a pretty casual atmosphere, especially considering the high quality of the fish. I honestly cannot wait to come back here. Staff was also polite and attentive. Easy parking, easy to get to from I-5. Clean and well-lit inside.

Non-Descript ambiance...great service...impeccable sushi and the Ananto Bowl which is their version of Chirashi is served with real sushi rice.

Picked up a prepared sushi platter from these guys for a holiday party, and it was a total hit. They provided all the needed chopsticks, soy sauce ginger and wasabi; great service and very nice people.

We stopped by Ananto Sushi for dinner while shopping in Santa Clarita, and it was such a great find! The staff was super friendly, and we got a kick out of the sushi chefs having some wine with us -- it made the atmosphere feel fun and relaxed. My husband and I shared a Spicy Tuna roll, Avocado roll, Natasha roll, and an Eel Tempura & Avocado roll. Every roll was prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Great food, great vibes -- we'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Food is delicious!!! We had the 9 piece sashimi plate, 7 piece sushi, tempura udon and yellow tail collar and 6 different sushis. This place has the freshest fish! Service is always excellent and we like the small place sushi. Ambiance is much better than the other sushi places who only sells many rolls. This is our 5th time here. Always have great experience every time! Highly recommended! This is why they have the highest rating.

I have to agree with others, this is easily the best sushi I've had in SCV. My best friend and I stopped here on a Monday night to get our sushi fix--specifically, some delicious nigiri. Ananto Sushi is a family-owned traditional sushi bar that just opened in Stevenson Ranch seven months ago. The restaurant's decor reflects the food: refined, simple, and focused. All the little touches add up to an unexpectedly fantastic experience. We sat at the bar and shared piece after piece of perfectly prepared nigiri. we ordered: - albacore - yellowtail belly - kanpachi (our favorite!) - shima aji - black snapper (outstanding) - ama ebi (a close second favorite) - toro scallion handroll - scallop - unagi Between the friendly service and excellent fish, we already can't wait to come back to this new SCV gem.

A sushi restaurant with a 4.8 rating captured my attention. I don't live in the Santa Clarita Valley so this place is new to me. Walking in to see Japanese sushi chefs was my first delight. The hostess seated me quickly and was very attentive during my meal. I received hot green tea refills before ever having to ask. I ordered the black snapper sushi and the Lily Roll. The black snapper, while small in quantity, was large in taste. I've had sushi all over the world and this is probably the best black snapper I've ever had. Compliments to the chef! The Lily roll was great as well. Rolls are not traditional Japanese cuisine and many sushi restaurants bury their older fish in them, but not Ananto! Very delicate and delicious. Thank you for your quality and service! Gochisousama deshita!

Chef Tim knows what he is doing here at Ananto! We sat at the sushi bar and he made sure our experience was nothing short of incredible. The star of the show was the Albacore Sushi- which is not normally my go to. It was SO good we ordered 2 more plates of it. Every ingredient in every dish was so fresh. Ananto is going to become a regular spot for us! We felt very taken care of!

We sat at our table for almost 15 minutes while a waitress helped the table right next to us multiple times and never acknowledged us. Once that table paid their check and left, she finally turned to us and asked if we'd like to order. My husband ordered three appetizers and each of us ordered main courses. Very soon after we ordered she brought out one appetizer and one entrée. Then we sat awkwardly for several minutes while my son ate his entrée, and 3 of us shared seaweed salad. Then she brought my other son's entrée. No sign of the rest of the appetizers. Then several minutes later she brought my husband's entrée. So now my husband and my two sons are sitting there with their meals and I'm sitting there with nothing for several minutes. I then asked if she could please bring the other appetizers before she brought my entrée because I didn't want it to be cold by the time we finished the appetizers. She said she would check on it. The appetizers finally came out and before I took a bite of the appetizers my entree arrived. My sons were done with their meals before I even tasted the appetizers. While these timing issues seem relatively minor it affected our overall experience. I thought it was just an anomaly on previous visits but it's clearly a lack of communication between service and the kitchen or simply a different expectation of the flow of a meal. Ultimately, it's poor service that doesn't seem to match the level of the cuisine. I don't think it's a strange thing to want everyone's food to come out at the same time. And that appetizers should come before entrées.
