3/26/2026: Momma Kiki and I haven't been to Ananto in a while and missed it. This is Hubby's first visit and Michelle joined us, too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is cute. Simple decor, and immaculate![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You are greeted so graciously when walking in the door. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were a little surprised to find them so quiet at 6pm on a Wednesday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Why is everyone sleeping on this gem? For those who don't know, Momma Kiki is Osaka born and raised.. which makes me half Japanese but still full Asian food critic. lol The sushi served at Ananto is outstanding! Some of the best I've had in Santa Clarita. I still love our OG "Light & Healthy" in Newhall (THE best AYCE!) but Ananto has special and unique offerings like sweet shrimp. We aren't light eaters by any means, but their 7pc set which comes with soup and a salad paired with a shared cut roll makes a decent meal! Our table thoroughly enjoyed our 7pc Sushi sets and the 9pc Sashimi set. The mild shirt miso soup paired with their green salad and house made wafu dressing is outstanding! The chef/owner makes all dressings and sauces fresh in house, and you can tell. There is care taken with rice and fish temperatures to optimize flavors, some are lightly brushed with what tastes like fresh yuzu.. the Spicy Tuna Roll doesn't have sriracha in it (thank goodness!).. they use chili oil, as it should be. The Sweet Shrimp is expertly executed and every crispy bite of the head served with the tomalley is perfection! I honestly don't know why there isn't a long wait in this little gem.

We stopped by Ananto Sushi for dinner while shopping in Santa Clarita, and it was such a great find! The staff was super friendly, and we got a kick out of the sushi chefs having some wine with us -- it made the atmosphere feel fun and relaxed. My husband and I shared a Spicy Tuna roll, Avocado roll, Natasha roll, and an Eel Tempura & Avocado roll. Every roll was prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Great food, great vibes -- we'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

I'll start by saying I'm a picky sushi eater. I resisted eating sushi for the longest time, until I had some in Japan and realized, like one of those light-bulb moments, "Ah ha! THIS is why people love sushi!" Unfortunately, most sushi in the US doesn't compare at all to that in Japan. And even in Japan, I am picky and have had plenty of sushi there that's just "meh." So I was hopeful, but trying not to get my expectations too high, trying Ananto sushi for the first time. I came here with a friend and I ordered four pairs of sushi, plus edamame and a cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was a generous serving, as was the edamame. The sushi consisted of relatively small slices of fish, on very tiny mounds of rice. That said, the fish was AMAZING and the rice was delicious. In fact, I loved the sushi so much I ordered a second round, with all the same fish. I tried black snapper, halibut, yellowtail and kinmedai. I loved every piece. The fish was fresh, extremely tender, and a silky soft texture. Light, fine flavor. Each piece had a little wasabi between the rice and the fish, though you can ask for it without wasabi as well. Some of the fish had a little additional seasoning and the flavors all went together perfectly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is located in a strip mall and it's small inside. Table seating, plus seating at the sushi bar[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Limited choice of sodas (Coke, diet Coke, Sprite), but they have hot tea, and they have alcoholic options as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a pretty casual atmosphere, especially considering the high quality of the fish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I honestly cannot wait to come back here. Staff was also polite and attentive. Easy parking, easy to get to from I-5. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and well-lit inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Picked up a prepared sushi platter from these guys for a holiday party, and it was a total hit. They provided all the needed chopsticks, soy sauce ginger and wasabi; great service and very nice people.

I came here about 1 and half years ago while running an errand in Valencia and so I tried a sushi spot with good ratings and I found this place and it was SOOOO GOOD I literally couldn't remember what it was called u til today I went back to photos I remember having a photo of my sushi and on my iPhone it showed location as Valencia town center AND I FOUND IT so me and my bf came back and still SO GOOD 10/10 fish is so fresh melt in your mouth flavors phenomenal

Food is delicious!!! We had the 9 piece sashimi plate, 7 piece sushi, tempura udon and yellow tail collar and 6 different sushis. This place has the freshest fish! Service is always excellent and we like the small place sushi. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is much better than the other sushi places who only sells many rolls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is our 5th time here. Always have great experience every time! Highly recommended! This is why they have the highest rating.

I have to agree with others, this is easily the best sushi I've had in SCV. My best friend and I stopped here on a Monday night to get our sushi fix--specifically, some delicious nigiri. Ananto Sushi is a family-owned traditional sushi bar that just opened in Stevenson Ranch seven months ago. The restaurant's decor reflects the food: refined, simple, and focused. All the little touches add up to an unexpectedly fantastic experience. We sat at the bar and shared piece after piece of perfectly prepared nigiri. we ordered: - albacore - yellowtail belly - kanpachi (our favorite!) - shima aji - black snapper (outstanding) - ama ebi (a close second favorite) - toro scallion handroll - scallop - unagi Between the friendly service and excellent fish, we already can't wait to come back to this new SCV gem.

I am a sushi snob.. first time coming here today and can easily say they have the best quality fish in all of Santa Clarita. Very great tasting dishes. Great service but most importantly great quality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will be bring my whole family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you

And a quick search from Yelp reminded me that we were here last time! I guess they are still attractive. This place felt like it was run by the Vietnamese, as all hosts and servers spoke Vietnamese to each other. The menu is as extensive as before, 2 full pages of rolls! One page is the standard ones, like the Lion King, sumo rolls, 49er's, and the other page is their special rolls. Unlike last time that we tried a bunch of their special appetizers (and they are still the same on the menu), we tried the rolls and bento this time and I think I like that more. We ordered the Teena roll, the Gilbert roll, an order of salmon roe sushi, a side order of chicken fried rice, and a tempura bento. The rolls tasted good, soft and slightly chewy in the mouth with a blend of all the sashimi and crab meat and sticky Japanese rice. The tempura bento was sumptuous! It came with a bowl of miso soup, a bowl of white rice, 4 or 5 pieces of gyoza, a salad, cucumber, a pre-cut orange, and 8 or 9 pieces of tempura of a variety. My least favorite is probably the salmon roe sushi as I wish the roes look bigger and more orange-y. Service was great. Although we were told they were busy and we might have to wait a bit, food started to come in less than 5 minutes! We didn't get a water refill but the glass of water was big. Dirty dishes were taken away timely too. I've been abused by the Bay Area exorbitant prices for a long time, it was such a pleasure to see rolls priced at $15. So overall, it was a good dinner in town.

I think they may want to consider raising their prices to afford some upkeep on their premises, as it is aging. I ran across this place because it happened to be in the same parking lot as my primary destination, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have visited Benihanas before and this place had the same general vibe, but I had a better experience here than any Benihana I've been to. I had the NY steak entree which comes which a choice of soup (I had miso), a small salad, grilled shrimp appetizer, and I upgrade my steamed rice to fried rice for a few bucks. I also had the tempura banana with ice cream desert. I arrived alone. Having never been here I was impressed by the little pond and waterfall with stream and koi fish. The whole building had an air of what was once a premium setting but had succumbed to age and poor maintenence. I see potential here, but it would require a heavy financial investment at this time to repair and clean. I was sat with a group of a couple family's that had just returned from a beach trip. They were all very polite and nice, but the smell of coconut sunscreen became a feature of my dining experience. The cook put on a bit of a spectacle, lighting onions on fire and flipping food around. All of the food tasted good, not amazing, but I have no complaints. It was well worth the very reasonable price. The stand out part of my meal was the simple tempuraed banana with ice cream desert - I may return just for this!

It was disappointing and, unfortunately, not unusual based on many of my past visits. Thankfully, Sophie completely turned the experience around. She took care of us for the rest of the meal, and she was absolutely outstanding. Friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. She checked on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and reminded us what great service should feel like. In more than two decades of eating here, I can honestly say I've only had truly great service once before. Sophie is definitely one of the best servers I've ever had at Yamato. She deserves recognition for her hard work and positive attitude. The food is still excellent, but I hope the restaurant invests more in consistent customer service. I believe our server's name was Hollyn. She asked us if we had ever been there before, and we said no. She offered to give us the spiel of how everything works but it seemed pretty straight forward. There were three menus - All You Can Eat, Adventures in Niku, and A la Cart. We opted for the AYCE premium at $50/person. We were told we can order 2 meats per person, and then as many sides as we wanted when we put in an order. We ordered: Garlic edamame, cheese corn, cucumbers, vegetable spring rolls, fried pork gyoza dumplings, toro beef, angus beef rib, New York steak, pork belly, shishito peppers, and a few other meat options that I can't remember from the AYCE menu. A la cart we ordered the garlic rice. From the Adventures in Niku menu we got the $2.50 Kirin drafts. My personal favorites were the Angus Beef Rib, garlic edamame, garlic fried rice, and lots and lots of s'mores! We were very impressed with our server because she was very present and not on autopilot. For example, when we put in our first order we ordered the garlic fried rice and a two steamed white rices. I believe when a different employee dropped off our meats, she said she was going to get the white rice but never came back. My partner and I didn't think anything of it because the garlic fried rice was so large, and we can always order more steamed rice if we really needed it. About halfway into our meal, our server looks at our food and goes "didn't you order 2 steamed rices in addition to the garlic fried rice?!" I said yes and she immediately went to go get it. It was really nice to see that she wasn't just putting orders in as she heard them, but she was actually fully present and listening to what the order was and then doing mental checks to see if we had received everything. She was fantastic! In addition to our server, I noticed that there were bussers who would walk around looking for empty plates to remove. This really helped with keeping our table as empty as possible for all the food that we ordered. Overall, the food was something fun and different than we're used to. However, the stand out for me were the friendliness and efficiency from all the employees.

First, I would like to say that my family and I have dined at your restaurant on several occasions and have always had positive experiences. We have enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service, which is why the experience we had last night was particularly disappointing. My family and I visited your establishment again and ordered from the à la carte menu. After we had finished most of our meal and paid our bill, some members of our party, including my brothers, were still enjoying their sake and finishing their drinks. To our surprise, a staff member approached us and asked us to leave the restaurant. While I understand that it was a busy evening and that there may have been other customers waiting for tables, I found it inappropriate and unprofessional to be asked to leave when we were still consuming items we had legitimately purchased. We did not order from an all-you-can-eat menu, which typically has a clearly stated time limit. As paying customers dining from the regular menu, we reasonably expected to be allowed to finish our food and beverages without feeling rushed or pressured to leave. What was most disappointing was the manner in which the situation was handled. Hospitality should include treating guests with courtesy and respect, regardless of how busy the restaurant may be. Being asked to leave while still finishing our drinks and foods left us feeling unwelcome and diminished what would otherwise have been an enjoyable dining experience. I hope you will address this matter with your staff and reinforce the importance of professional customer service and respectful communication. Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns. I would appreciate your acknowledgment of this complaint and any information regarding how this matter will be addressed. Sincerely, Carla
