Nestle in the back of an old mall area is quite a cultural gem. Madina's menu offered flavors from several African/ Carribean cuisines: Egusi (Nigerian) , Peanut Stew (West Africa-Ivory Coast), Plaintains (Caribbean-Ghana), Jollof Rice (Senegal) and so much more! The service was wonderful. The cook gave us some cultural food knowledge about the origins of our dishes. The presentation of the food was beautiful. I wish I took a picture but I was ravenous. At the end of a very bountiful meal, I left tips eveywhere. The busser tried to return my tip! I had to explain that it was for him. Very nice place. I will return, especially for the plaintains.

5 stars for fufu, 4 for egusi, rounding up because they're a new and friendly local business…read more I asked for fufu not having looked super carefully at the menu, and I'm not entirely sure which swallow I ended up with. That said, it was delicious, one of the best West African dough balls I've ever had. Nice subtle flavor and a really incredible silky, tender texture. The egusi had a very rich, deep flavor and a little kick of spiciness, though I found the texture slightly grainy. But I think I might have been mixing up egusi and ogbono in my memory, so I'll have to try ogbono and/or okra next time. As far as I know, this is the only Nigerian restaurant outside 465, and it's pretty convenient to the airport. I may well return on a future airport run!

Drove across town in torrential rain to get my Ethiopian fix at Awet Major!…read moreIf you're not very familiar with Ethiopian (like myself) use the menu as a guide and ask your server, who will likely be the owner, any and all questions. She is super friendly and helpful. Your spice level and reasonable modifications are accommodated. I got the awet combo, which typically has beef, lamb, chicken wing + egg and swapped the lamb for chicken breast. I like my food spicy and my combo did not disappoint. My friend is a fan of the veggie combo. The portions and food quality are a great value for the price. Take what you can't (shouldn't?) finish-the leftovers are dreamy, and finish with a pot of the tea to balance out your meal.

They gave me a lunch portion, two small pieces of chicken in a small to-go bowl. It was so stingy looking! My sister's came in a dinner plate, one whole fish with fried plantains and egusi. Fix this issue, and this place could succeed. Otherwise, I will have to take my business to Ecko.

I was working and ordered it from a food delivery app. I got the Egusi and added pounded yam. It didn't let me choose the meat but when I received it I figured it was goat. When the food arrived, I was pretty surprised at how small of a portion it was. It came in a Tupperware with just enough to cover the bottom plus a tad more. In the soup were two small pieces of meat. Ehhh. Disappointed but oh well. I tried it and the flavor was AMAZING yet spicy. But not just plain of spicy. It was packed with FLAVOR! I loved it and ate it how they do with my hands with a finger full of the pounded yam. I may try other menu items in the future. Hopefully I get more bang for the buck lol

We got the choclo that we've desperately been trying to recreate since our trip to Colombia.. the gulas grill version while not perfect was a decent substitute. The patacones were crisp and topped generously with fresh cheese. The yucca fries were good too and all the portions huge. Definitely trying the other things on their menu soon!
