We had a rehearsal dinner at Bon appetit and the food and service were exceptional. The staff was amazing, friendly and professional and the upstairs offered a spectacular view. read more

Beautiful restaurant on the water.outside is more casual and on weekends they have a band playing. Inside is a bit more formal with pianist on weekends. They have good selection of seafood and meat. The tuna and shrimps are good for appetizers. Red snapper, salmon with avo salad and lobster roll were great as main dish. read more

My wife and I had dinner there May 8th. It was quite possibly the worst dinner out we have had in the last 10 years. They price like a major restaurant and cook, serve and look like a two star restaurant. I ordered the New England Seafood & Pasta, my wife order the open faced lobster roll and a calamari appetizer to split. others at the table wanted to know where we found onion rings on the menu. There were about 12 large pieces of calamari which I would guess was frozen for $16. Terrible. The open face lobster roll was apiece of semi toasted loaf bread with a 3-4 ounce scoop of lobster meat with fruit on the side. Other guest thought she had ordered a fruit plate. Cost $42 even though the menu said $32. The seafood on the New England pasta was good and well prepared. Unfortunately the pasta and sauce wasn't. The taste was bland and the pasta was overcooked. Service was poor. They want you to look at the waiter scroll through pictures on an iPad. On top of that service was rushed even though the restaurant was even half full. this is not the type of service I expect in a restaurant charging $40 and up for entrees. Ambiance - old and tired. Basically 1 drink, two glasses of wine and the food above for for$166. Save your money. read more

Great environment and good for sunsets. Horrible service from the outside bartenders, couldn't get a second round had to ask multiple times for the check. read more

Since 1980 when I came to Florida very few restaurants' Brown Derby and Red Barn on US 19! Bon Appetite was the most upscale restaurant in the area! Next door close to the park with stone monument from different states was a seafood shop that was the only place in the area to get fresh seafood! I can't remember how much time I spent at bar! Bill was first bartender! As my business in employment was across from Trucking for Jesus near Pop Stansel park ' I spent many days eating lunch and taking customers to Bon Appetite ' Since 1980 still my personal favorite! Take your wife, girlfriend or just your best friend! You won't be disappointed! Col. Fenton W. Miller Rey. read more

I have often stopped for a delightful drink and something to eat at the bon appétit restaurant in Dunedin Florida. The food was always excellent, and the drinks were top-notch. The service was never less than polite and casual. However, this afternoon, as I search for a seat at the bar, I discovered they were all taken. One of the."taken" seats at the counter was occupied by a small dog sitting a top it. I politely asked the two young ladies if they would kindly remove the dog so that a pain customer, myself, could sit there they adamantly refused and became nasty and their disposition. They said they were reserving the seat for a friend. That was no excuse, however, for a dog to be sitting at a bar where people were eating. The two bartenders shrugged their shoulders when I brought this matter to their attention. About five minutes later, I found a seat that had just been vacated. After a while, a supervisor from inside came out and requested that the young ladies put the dog on the ground as it was against the health code. Needless to say, it left a sour taste in my mouth as did the dollar 50 surcharge for two onions in my dirty Gibson cocktail! read more

We always enjoy dinner here especially at sunset. The staff is very friendly and the service great. Can't wait to return!

After a long day of boating, this was the perfect ending. We decided to go to the outside bar which is on the water side. Unfortunately, it was already dark, so not much waterview to see except the ambience of the nice outdoor space. This restaurant has been here for many many years. I was surprised to see they had escargot on the menu. So of course I was excited! I can't remember the last time I had that dish, and it definitely did not disappoint. The Escargot were served in a classic metal pan. Swimming in garlic butter and piping hot with a breadstick on the side, so soft and dunkable! Yummm! I also had the Ahi Tuna appetizer. The Tuna was fresh, and served with crisp cucumbers, a side of red chili aïoli and wasabi dotting the plate of this beautiful presentation. The Angus sirloin cheeseburger was cooked as ordered and the beef was top quality. A few wonderful craft cocktails later, we were ready to go! Will definitely return and recommend! read more

I have been to Bon Appetit many times since moving to Dunedin. I judge a restaurant not on one meal but based on consistently and quality over time. From seafood to steak to a fresh salad, Bon Appetit shines brightly. The staff are professionals and understand food. I have never been disappointed and look at Bon Appetit as the diamond in Dunedin. For a special occasion or just for drinks while watching the sunset, this is your go to place. read more

OooooK.... So lets get to the "service"....... Or the lack of! Our waiter basically acted like my party and i were at the kiddie table at thanksgiving and provided NO service whats so ever. Ive been better treated at waffle house at 3am. It took so long for him to bring our drinks the ice was melted in them. We were almost forced to battle to the death for bread like if we were in a Siberian concentration camp. The waiter when he came to pick up our plates stretched all over the table crossing over us and when he served our plates slung them on the table like if he was a black jack dealer. The waiter showed us the menu on his tablet and spoke so fast we didnt catch a word and before we could ask anything he disappeared like a ninja. The food is good but honestly ill go to a long jhon silver for dinner before dealing with service this bad. read more

I thought this place was good. I give it a 4 because it was good and I would come back to try other things but the food was pretty good. What I loved about it is sitting on the water. It's in a beautiful part of dunedin and even though I was alone it was pleasant. My waitress was very nice and sweet. I ended up going light (thanks dieting ha ha) and just got the escargot. It was good. The curry butter was interesting but on the sweet side. I would love to try some of the other dishes and have a couple of drinks. I think it would be best to come back during sunset. Even at opening it was pretty packed so it is popular. I really did like this place and want to come back with friends or my husband for a romantic dinner out. I appreciate the social distancing and the staff wearing masks. Overall, for a nice experience this is a beautiful place in Pinellas to come and I would love to come back and try their other dishes. read more

What a great location. Alfresco bar, live mellow music, and average food for the cost.. ALMOST makes up for the grouchy, snarky, and unattentive bartenders. I don't mind paying top dollar for great food and drinks but the bad attitudes, makes spending my time money and tip hard to swallow. Should we be made to feel sorry for being there if it's busy? Doesn't the GM want the place "busy"? Should we have to flag down the two or three bartenders walking past us several times, (after 20 minutes of being seated) before they great us? Or even make eye contact? Oh and here's the great greeting....Finally, when a bartender approached us, like we were interrupting them, I asked for a drink, an ice water and a menu, she said under her breath, "Oh now you're pushing it". The ladies next to us laughed but I was rendered speechless and a little embarrassed. Really??? Dunedin has so many great venues, food and wonderful service. I might pass on spending my time or money here again. Its too bad, we are local full time residents and it might have been one of our favorite go-to spots. And after reading a previous review, I would definitely ask for a printed receipt, as the total bill seemed a little excessive. If the gratuity was going to be added by the server, and unknowingly I tipped another 20% on top, it would make perfect sense that the service was sub-par from the get go. At the end of the day, after having worked in that industry myself, the service can make or break the experience. But that's just me. Our party of 5 ladies literally felt like we were bothering them by just sitting down. read more

Tonight I went to Bon Appetit. My wife & I loved every second of it. We were served delicious bread rolls which were warm, but not burnt, with butter that was cold but not a frozen block. My wife had a Key Lime Martini that was just the right amount of sweet & strength. I had the Filet which was cooked the way it should be: crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The béarnaise sauce was delicious but not heavy. It came with a sweet Potato croquette which was crispy but not greasy. We finished with deserts that were layered perfectly, and bag pipes playing on the doc as we watched the sunset. Great service by Marina. It was... A Perfect Dining Experience every detail of every part. I know my go to spot. read more

Bon Appetit - The view - New American Near Me - Dunedin, Florida

Dinner at Bon Appetit proved to be an exceptional experience of great food, service and ambience! From the delectable menu to the excellent service of Angelique the entire evening was a delight! And the ambience was perfect - from the beautiful water views and classic white table dining to the ever enjoyable pianist who played with great joy and a breadth of musical tunes that was simply amazing. A great dinner all around! read more

For the price, this restaurant is a disappointment. We could not find much on the menu that was of interest. The one dish that appealed was not available. The chicken dish was dry without taste AND it came with nothing. Just a piece of chicken on a plate with a bit of raw curly kale to make the plate look full. For $39 surely a piece of chicken should have a vegetable side! Who serves an entree with only meat? The service was slow. Tables that arrived well after us had their meal and we were still waiting for our appetizer. We would not recommend. Dunedin has places with better food for the price. read more

Our server, Rachel, was very knowledgeable and super friendly. The Key Lime pie and the Coconut Cream pie were delicious

We had an Amazing 2024 Valentine's date night! The 4 course meal did not disappoint: for starters, I had the lobster bisque and wife had the seared salmon. The bisque was perfect, creamy, with a generous amount of lobster pieces, great flavours. Then the salad with strawberries, hearts of palm, walnuts, greens and cherry tomatoes, was good. Then I had the lobster and the wife had the filet mignon perfectly cooked, and finally we had dessert: chocolate mousse was great and the cheesecake was very soft and recently made with great flavors. We had a glass of semi-sweet Champagne and it could not get better. Except it did: The violinist playing music made our night. The perfect volume and he expertly played a very large variety of music from every corner of the world and from very classic to modern hits. If I was in a Titanic, I'd want this person to play my last song. Eating lobster to Tango from Gardel was my highlight. Keith, our server was very pleasant and attentive, well done dude. Overall, Bon Appetit did it right! Kudos to the planners and to the staff for pulling a very busy night! read more

Awful experience. The value of this restaurant is indescribably bad, making my party of two pay $99 for 4 courses of food. These courses included a single scallop over a piece of watermelon, a small and soggy salad, an entree with predetermined sides, and a bitter and somehow salty piece of carrot cake or tiny cup of chocolate mouse. The service was mediocre at best with our waiter only coming to us when bringing the food out, not checking if we needed anything else. He also got my desert order wrong. Overall, I'd likely never dine here again. The food was not worth the price and neither was the service or atmosphere. read more

We were told by one of the customers that Rachel from Chicago was a marvelous waitperson. She lived up to her reputation, amiable, welcoming and knowledgeable about both the food and wine. She is a good listener and remembered what we had there the day before. I can't even think of better service. My partner had the Dover sole and she filleted it for him. I had the bouillabiasse and was pleasantly surprised at the sauce. Every bit of the food was delicious. Karen Develle played the piano and we found out she graduated from high school in our home town in MN. Twinkling lights at night and happy customers made a romantic night out for us. read more

Nothing beats a sunset dinner on the patio! We've been here many times over the last 10 years, and I've gotten seriously framable stunning sunset photos from the patio. I mean- My God. The food here has always been at least good- - sometimes great- a few times outstanding- as when they have sea bass on the menu- which is not often. Post covid it's been just passable and over-priced. However, we've always had a good time here. I'm hopeful for a return to former glory. read more

Classic Coastal Communing! This lovely Dunedin hot spot has all the makings of a cruise ship dinning experience without getting sea sick. Pick your poison! Outside at the bustling bar or inside for the refined dining experience. Everything about this place screams old school vibe with a few updates to the menu and technology. It's a, "If it ain't broke, we will tweak a few things" type of restaurant. At Bon Appetit you know just what you are getting from the very clean and straightforward menu to the attentive but balanced service. They know the fundamentals of a well-oiled restaurant and I appreciate it! From the start, the reservation process is seamless. Simply go online to their website and book with your name, phone and email. You will receive a text confirmation for your reminder. Need to make modifications? No problem! A lovely hostesses, like Lily, will politely adjust your reservation and reassure you that you will get the best seat in the house upon your arrival! Upon arriving, receive a warm and welcoming greeting from the hostess team who seem to be efficient and low maintenance. Love it! Give them your name and you will be promptly escorted to your table. The service staff is super attentive and will greet the table within 2 mins of being seated. I had the pleasure of having Billy from New York as my dining experience guide! He was attentive, knowledgeable and not intrusive. You can tell he is a seasoned professional! The food was excellent and classic. Very simple flavors and straightforward techniques. The Escargot was cooked perfectly and served with a baguette. The seared Ahi Tuna appetizer was fresh and clean. The Cold Smoked Salmon appetizer had the most imagination. A great play on your classic bagel and lox breakfast, substituting out the bagel for a potato pancake, and served with a apple celery slaw. As for the entrees! I had the 5oz filet and guess what?! They know how to cook a filet to proper temperature! Hot damn! The filet was everything I expected and was accompanied with a fresh vegetable medley of asparagus, carrots. etc. I would have loved the option of having extra Au Poivre or Bearnaise sauce on the side. This was definitely an opportunity to upsell a filet with an Au Poivre or Oscar preparation or even seared Foie gras option. I guess let the classics do to the classics. Lol! Overall, this was the quintessential dining experience with an amazing view and stellar service. Definitely, a must visit for a family dinner or the celebration of a good friend! read more

I'm going to start with Meghan our waitress was amazing! Their prices are reasonable! The Ahi Tuna appetizer it was really great. Meghan didn't offer us the specials of the day but that's OK her personality and customer service made up for it. I had half carafe of Woodbridge Chardonnay $16 cant beat that price. They had on masks and practiced social distancing. Wonderful outside seating and great for sunset dining read more

I can't believe I've lived here for 8 years and have never come here! The view is absolutely incredible especially if you can see the water. There was someone taking requests on the piano and playing beautifully. The service was exceptional. And the food...was totally worth coming back for! I ordered a ravioli and my partner got the steak but it took everything in me not to just eat his - I'm not kidding when I say it was definitely one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Why? Because it was perfectly seasoned, charred on the outside, and melt in your mouth delicious on the inside.
