This Whole Foods has an open, airy feel which I love. And like all of their locations, their…read moreproduce is stunning; everything is bright and vibrant, almost like your wearing technicolor glasses! In the winter, I'm here for the blood oranges, clementines and pomegranates. In the summer, I'm all about the berries - hoods, blueberries and blackberries - and peaches. Lots of people complained that WF is expensive, but it depends on what you are buying. Their 365 brand sells local products and is very affordable and the items are fantastic. Some that I particularly like are the instant coffee, great for my afternoon iced coffee drink; their pasta is wonderful and they offer many shapes, not just the norms, the cavatelli being one of my favorites; tortilla chips, black beans, Thai Curry cashews, veggie straws - just to name a few. Like all WFs, they have an exceptional prepared food area with lots of delicious mains and fixings. The one thing I'm not a fan of is the roasted chicken. I've bought dozens and they are always dry. Not sure what's up with that because everything else is really good. Bakery section has tempting treats, lots of grainy breads and even gluten free options. The cheese area is fantastic, always something new to try. Because of the prices, I can't afford to shop here for my everyday items, but I come when I want high quality meat, cheese, and produce. And my favorite 365 items. When items are on sale, Prime users get additional discounts, sometimes as high as 20 or 30% off. Great time to stock up on pantry items.

Great selection of organic produce but overall this is kind of a low key WF, not all that. The…read moresalad bar and hot food options are not bad, but they run out early in the day usually. Fish choices are good, though most things are overpriced (as usual) but I like that the store is fairly easy to navigate, with wide aisles, and parking is a breeze - plus there's an Amazon counter in store and a Starbucks and ACE Hardware right across the parking lot. Hence my middle of the road rating.

Just tried the birria cheese quesadilla at La Marquesa last night and WOW... it was sooo good…read moreThe smell when you walk in alone is enough to make you hungry instantly. Hubs had his favorite chicken burrito and of course loved it - no leftovers for this guy. The woman at the counter was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Seriously-yum. Go get yourself some good Mexican food, peeps

I live for Mexican food and have been to every restaurant and food cart under the sun in Portland…read moreand have not found 1 spot that delivers the kind of caliber of Mexican food I've experienced in Southern California --- until today --- all the way in lake Oswego. Stand out food and very friendly and attentive service. Lengua tacos - perfectly cooked fall apart lengua and the portions are generous! Rice and beans - at last a place that knows how to season their rice and make some cheesy creamy beans!!! Chile relleno burrito - so much flavor! They did right by the humble poblano pepper and actually took the time to roast it - and you can tell - the smoky sweet poblano flavor really comes through and the breading around it even though it's sandwiched in a burrito layered with cheese and rice stays perfectly in tact. This burrito is a stand out. Guacamole - perfect. You can tell there's no filler it's all avocado, tomatoes and lime. Complimentary Salsas- deep and rich smoky salsas, zingy and tangy avocado line salsas - these salsas pack so much depth of flavor - you'd never expect this caliber of salsa from something housed in a squirt bottle. Flan - oh yes, come hither. Reach and creamy with a lot of body and just the right level of sweetness. If you love Mexican food and have had your heart broken by the mediocre meh-ish food options around the metro area - come here !!!

Quaint and charming restaurant in downtown Milwaukie with a Mexican/Latin style twist on entrees…read moreand full bar. We've been for both breakfast (pictures attached & speak for themselves :D) and lunch- both times were delicious! Make sure you go early enough or there's a chance they will already be sold out of something on the specials board as happened to one of the guests in our party of four. The hubby says they make a great bloody Maria with their own spices and nice veggie accompaniments. Same thumbs up for their margaritas too. Not really a place to take large groups but given their hospitality, I'm sure they would try. Best to call in advance for that need. Super friendly staff, it almost feels like you've gone to their home and treated like family. You've likely seen the place if you've driven on McLoughlin/99E as they're right on the corner but only accessed from northbound side. A small parking lot but since it's the north end of town you're likely to find a spot on the street too. Support their restaurant ... would love to have them be around for a long time!

Absolutely charming. I loved the ambience and the whole mood of this place…read more As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a very nice man who asked us how many were in our party (3). After waiting for about 20 seconds (he went to go check if a table was clear... and someone was just finishing cleaning a lovely table by the window), we were led to an another smiling person who seated us. The place was busy, but not too crowded. It was a Sunday around 11 AM. Parking in the lot was no problem, although I know this area gets much busier when the Milwaukie Farmer's Market is going, so you may want to keep that in mind for May through October. When the market is going on... I believe you can park in the Library parking lot just about a block away or street parking on Main, etc. Our waitress, a third person, was also very nice and quickly brought us water and asked if we wanted to order something to drink before we ordered food. We did. Two of us ordered regular coffee and I ordered a beautiful butterfly pea flower blue plant based latte made with almond milk (see photo). It was delicious! They have so many interesting drinks, I definitely want to come back and try several more. One person in our party was omnivore, another was vegetarian/pescatarian, and another was vegan. They had no problems, accommodating all of us. They also had several tasty looking specials on a chalkboard on the wall. I have included a photo of our various foods and the menus. The servings were generous and delicious. We only live about six minutes away from here and sadly this is the first time we have been able to visit. We had planned to several other times, but it never worked out (note: they are closed Mondays). We will absolutely be back and this is a place we will regularly bring friends/family when they visit, for sure! Everything was fresh. Service was wonderful. Everyone was absolutely kind and lovely.
