To start off, I left a voicemail for this location over a week ago, inquiring about a pixie haircut style that I would like to get done...no one ever called me back. I eventually had to make my appointment thru the Lakewood location, for the Tacoma location and I was told to be there at 2pm on 6/7/25. I get there 2 minutes early today and Carlette, the hair stylist that's supposed to work on me, is not even halfway done on the person in her chair. I sat inside for a 10 minutes, then eventually went to my car to wait. I then called them, within my car to see how much longer it would be...the reception asked the Carlette and she said maybe another 20 minutes..I go back in the establishment within 25 minutes and she's still not done with the person's hair....meanwhile, no one has come over to me to check on me apologize....say I'll be right with you...thank you for waiting, or anything and now it's going on 3pm....so I've waited an hr not only to not have gotten my hair done, but not even to be acknowledged by the stylist. This is not a good look, especially as a new customer. Oh...when I called in to inquire how long it will take, I reminded them I had appointment at 2pm and was asked how I booked... I said I booked through your Lakewood location through the receptionists and then was told "well, this is how it is at hair salons..sometimes they don't start on time, that's how it goes". This is not what you tell a new customer! This is why I have avoided so many years going into a Black Hair Salon, because your time is treated as if it's not important, or as if you don't have things to do as well. So I just left. I didn't say anything and it's obvious they didn't care, because no one even called me to see where I was, or to apologize. If you don't want to go through this experience, get in the chair on time....please go to their Lakewood location!!!! I only came to this one, because I was told they knew how to do haircut styles...where normally I go to Lakewood, to give my fingerwaves, that I love as well. I honestly cannot recommend the hair "stylist" I saw - Madison Parker to anyone. When I got there…read moreand asked for just brown all over color she goes "I can definitely get you there but did you have a budget?" I go, "No as long as it looks good". She then bleached my hair for about an hour and left me alone for mostly the whole time to "take her break" (This was after I mentioned I only want healthy hair - my main priority and asked for just a shade lighter wanting to go from my virgin dark dark brown to brown). I was somehow there from 10am-5pm (which she said she could finish by 2pm) but for some reason still didn't have the time to style or fully wash out the toner which took me 3 showers to fully wash out days later. During the process I could see clients and other stylists staring at her getting bleach everywhere and looking concerned. It is now day 5 and I already see blonde streaks coming through my "brown hair". Mind you I STARTED with dark dark brown hair. So tell me how this fits in the equation? I have gotten this service monthly in the past and it only took about 2 hours and costed around $200-$300. I started crying after 4 hours of being there and endless amounts of masks and washes she put me through which I assume she knew she messed up and fried my hair to the max. I then get to the counter and Madison says "ok that will be $700" after tears had finally stopped streaming down my face. I told her that is ridiculous and was not mentioned at all about where she thought the price range was going to be - which online it quotes $200 for haircut and color. She goes "well you did say you didn't have a budget but best I can do is $600". So if I did say I had a budget would she have not charged me as much and not taken advantage of me?! I explained to her all I got was over fried hair - uneven toning and a "chop" not even a haircut since she didn't have time to thin out the ends which I supposedly "could only get dry". I have never had such an experience at a salon, I would run far away if you're reading this and no wonder she had such an open schedule! She even mentioned "I see every one at this salon getting things done in a couple hours and I think how do they do that?" Maybe because they have a clue of how to work on hair and what they're doing. I don't know if she took advantage of me not having a budget to purposely drag out the process to charge me per hour or if she has no idea what she's doing. Either way her time at Seven Four Seven will hopefully be short lived so she doesn't do this to other people. And when I reached out to the owner Sydney, instead of standing up for a loyal customer (use to see Amanda regularly but she had been sick) she kept repeating "well unfortunately there's nothing I can do about a refund since they make their own pricing". And Madison Parker makes all of her customers sign a waiver so they can't sue her or demand money back. So what I got after getting into contact with Sydney, the owner of Seven Four Seven, she feels as though the people that work there and represent her as a business, can scam innocent people as long as they pay her. This whole experience was honestly the worst I've been through involving what's suppose to be an exciting experience - getting your hair done nonetheless paying $600 to get your hair done for over fried hair. I always have a picture of my previous haircuts that I like in my phone so I can just show them how they look from one or two angles. That way, it takes any miscommunication or room for interpretation out of the equation. After cutting your hair, they give you a complimentary shampoo session to clean you up, and if you'd like, they will apply hair products too at no additional cost so you look fresh and clean, ready to go. I have no issues walking in on weekends or weekdays with minimal wait so that's nice. Of course, they hair cur service is decent, but if you need something crazy and stylish as if you are a fashion model or something, this place wouldn't cut it (pun intended ). Otherwise, if you just want a decent and neat cut for monthly maintenance, I'll recommend it here!

To reserve an appointment, Mame requires a deposit, which I have provided once in the past. Recently, Mame requested a $50 Zelle deposit to schedule an appointment, which I sent in good faith. The person Mame had me forward the deposit to is Fanny Noumedon. Mame had promised to send a confirmation of the appointment once she received an SMS from me containing a screenshot of the Zelle transaction. After sending the screenshot in an SMS - I never received the promised appointment confirmation. My credit union and I have both reached out to Mame and Fanny to resolve this issue, but their responses have been disrespectful and unprofessional. They claim they cannot locate my information in the Zelle system, which is their excuse for not returning the funds. I've contacted the Tacoma Police Department about the scam that Mame Sow and Fanny Noumedon are running within the city limits. The police advised me to never send a deposit for hair braiding services, as they cannot intervene in civil disputes. Learn from my experience - do not send these hair braiders any deposits, as you will not receive the service or get your money back from Zelle. **Update Upon seeing my online review, Fanny Noumedon's husband Kokou contacted me and pleaded for me to remove it, offering to repay the money owed if I did so. I refused his bribery attempt, and instead threatened legal action against both him and Fanny. Ultimately, they returned the funds, but my critical review remains published. I advise against providing any deposits to these hair braiders, and I advise against doing business with them.
