I hate to be a negative Nancy but this place was not good at all! I love Indian cuisine and this place had a great selection of foods but unfortunately it did not deliver. Firstly we were 2 of 8 people in the restaurant yet we waited 20 minutes for someone to come take our order. They didn't have half of the drinks on the menu that I tried to offer. The food was really expensive and didn't come with any sides at all!! We were waiting over 20 minutes after the waiter took our order so eventually I had to ask if we would be waiting much longer. As soon as we asked the food appeared in front of us (Had it been ready all along?) I ordered a Green curry and my friend ordered a chilli curry. They actually both looked and tasted the same! Bland is not the word. They tasted like someone had poured half a bottle of salt into each of our meals. I could not eat it! I was not happy at all. We asked for the bill and the waiter clearly seeing that neither of our dishes had barely been touched did not even ask if everything had been okay. If you enjoy waiting around and getting a bland salty dish and like to pay for every little extra. This is the place for you. Sorry guys!

We enjoyed this very much though our server wasn't much help with the menu. The restaurant was very warm. Nice atmosphere, good service.

We decided on the mixed seafood platter that was advertised as large prawns with other seafoods.. after many back and forth uncertainty from our waiter as to what the dish actually included we just went with it as we were craving seafood.. the large family style platter ended up being a small bowl of mostly curried slurry, small chewy chunks of mostly mussel and 'randomness' with ONE medium size prawn.. NO rice or Vegetables as stated. Furthermore, we had asked for a little tap water with lemon, yet served an oversized Evian that we barely drank and charged for it.. too many wrongs to make a nice.. giving an extra star because of location and beautiful concept and restaurant including patio.. maybe we just had a new server that didn't care and ordered the wrong menu item...‍‍

Given popadoms and prawn crackers and selection of dips after order meal which were freash and tasty to nibble on. Mains food was cooked to perfection and very fresh. Chicken in both dishes were succulent with great tasting masala and madras, rice was fluffy but not overcooked. Nan was light and crunchy, chips also crunchy and fresh. Would recommend as they also do Thai and Chinese food perhaps we'll go for that next time but the Indian was mighty good so maybe it.

Sadly, under new ownership, it has become a "should've stayed at home" experience. Last night, we brought my parents for what we expected would be a reliably divine meal at Sethu Curry House. Instead, we left 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering having received nothing but a meagre portion of stale poppadoms and dips that looked suspiciously like they'd already toured another table before reaching ours. During that hour, we were treated to a greatest-hits remix of: "10 minutes", "Just more 10 minutes","5 minutes" "Definitely 10 minutes."And, as we stood up to leave... "10 minutes and it will be ready." ...All spaced artfully across 75 minutes. Olympic-level time optimism. The restaurant itself was close to empty(unless you count the takeaway orders stacking up and waiting just as long), so the delay was baffling. On arrival, I had to request a new side plate because the existing one had visible, scrapable dirt. The ladies' toilets smelt strongly of urine, the sink was dirty and grimy, and the room had clearly not encountered antibacterial spray in quite some time. Overall, the place felt grubby and neglected. I ordered a mixed grill with raita, only to be told they no longer do raita. That seemed to set the tone -- anything requiring freshness is off the menu. Neither the waiter nor the menu could provide allergen information, which in 2026 is astonishing. We eventually left because, frankly, we no longer trusted that anything arriving from the kitchen would justify the wait. It's genuinely sad. Someone has taken what was once a gorgeous, consistently excellent restaurant and managed to run it into the ground in record time. I would not consider returning. The only redeeming part of the evening? We crossed the road to Quinlan's Seafood Bar and were served beautiful, fresh fish promptly, in an immaculately clean setting, by lovely staff. Silver lining secured. But what a disappointing Valentines night, especially with visiting parents

I looked on Yelp and a couple of other sites to find this place. It sported a pretty good set of reviews in the places I looked. It was only a ten-minute drive from our hotel so we decided to give it a try. Their location in the old Sunday's Well section of Cork actually looked a little run down. It might be off-putting for some but that shouldn't deter anyone from giving it a try. The interior is nicely kept, is a bit cozy, and provides a comfortable dining atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent. She was a very pleasant and helpful person who provided flawless service. It was a Monday and thus was not too busy, which I thought was a positive contributor to our experience. There were several good choices on the menu. My colleague started with veg samosas and was happy with them. I opted for the Chicken Pakora starter, which was very tasty. My colleague had a vegetarian curry option while I chose the Bindhi Chicken. Mine had a great taste as it was optimally spiced and very flavorful. My colleague was equally happy with his choice. In the end, I had a Masala Chai, which was properly made with boiled milk. Their recipe had the right amount of cinnamon which made it the ideal finisher. Our bill was less than €50 for the two of us including drinks and a small tip. We were quite happy with the value. I will look forward to trying this place again when next in Cork.

We had the Korma with chicken, it's a sweet curry which is my favorite type of curry and very good. My husband had the Balti that had shrimp, beef and vegetables - we asked for a medium spice and it was the perfect heat that we can handle but was also a great flavor. Both our dishes off course tasted just as good when we dipped our garlic naan bread with the sauce. The pakoras were very aromatic, though somewhat oily and not as crunchy as I'd like. But the chutneys they were served with (and which we kept on the table to use with the entrees) were so good and different from what I am used to. The same usual three: a mint-coriander: thin and light-colored; a tamarind: sweet and fruity; and an onion: dark beet-red, with little of the sharp pungency normally found in raw onions. The sauce in the Saag Ghost (lamb and spinach) was darker than I'm used to, with a bold flavor not diluted by excess cream. Plenty of meat; not mostly gravy like many I've had. We ordered white rice to go with it and the waiter/owner helpfully suggested a specific one he recommended with this dish from the 3 available (not a plain white, this was a basmati somehow infused with a lemon flavor, with visible zest). He was a great waiter, welcoming us as we entered, urging us to feel at home, and patient as we poured over the very large menu. The classic Chicken Tikka Masala was sweet and tomatoey, aromatic, with the cream in the sauce not overpowering. There was plenty of chicken, though the proportion of meat to sauce was less than in the Saag Ghost. The Aloo Paratha bread was nicely browned in spots, not at all dry, still hot from frying, the dough a good stretchy texture. The menu was huge and varied. I didn't take a photo and there's no website but I seem to remember at least 20 in the lamb section alone, over 10 breads, with some other sections arranged by style or region (Madras, Balti, etc.) So much to choose from here. Only beer and wine is available here for alcoholic drinks. That's fine, but just one suggestion: please improve your wine selection. Only a few very generic wines were available, and the glass of Rosé that I ordered was from California. That was an accident; I didn't intend to drink any American wine while vacationing in Europe.
