This was a great place for Indian food in Cork. My colleague and I are both aficionados of Indian cuisine and he was readily amenable when I suggested that style of fare for dinner. I looked on Yelp and a couple of other sites to find this place. It sported a pretty good set of reviews in the places I looked. It was only a ten-minute drive from our hotel so we decided to give it a try.
Their location in the old Sunday's Well section of Cork actually looked a little run down. It might be off-putting for some but that shouldn't deter anyone from giving it a try. The interior is nicely kept, is a bit cozy, and provides a comfortable dining atmosphere.
Our waitress was excellent. She was a very pleasant and helpful person who provided flawless service. It was a Monday and thus was not too busy, which I thought was a positive contributor to our experience.
There were several good choices on the menu. My colleague started with veg samosas and was happy with them. I opted for the Chicken Pakora starter, which was very tasty. My colleague had a vegetarian curry option while I chose the Bindhi Chicken. Mine had a great taste as it was optimally spiced and very flavorful. My colleague was equally happy with his choice.
In the end, I had a Masala Chai, which was properly made with boiled milk. Their recipe had the right amount of cinnamon which made it the ideal finisher.
Our bill was less than €50 for the two of us including drinks and a small tip. We were quite happy with the value. I will look forward to trying this place again when next in Cork. read more
