The food at Bombay Grill is absolutely amazing. It's one of the best kept secrets in the city of Houston, and one of the best Indian restaurants around. I love the place, and eat there frequently. If you are looking for ambiance this is not your place but if you love Indian food, look no further! read more

I've made several trips to Bombay Grill always for takeout. The food is excellent but it will take some time, do not expect an immediate pickup. However, it is truly worth the wait. The restaurant is tucked away in a small shopping center with somewhat limited seating. My last visit I got the Roganjosh Lamb which comes with a minimum spice level of medium. If you are limited to mild only, pick another dish. The lamb is very tender and the sauce is perfect. The garlic naan is fresh but could a little more garlic. Honestly, there isn't a bad dish on the menu. read more

I came in for lunch and I found it odd that it wasn't busy. Usually not the best sign. The manager and cook were both super nice. I ordered chicken Rogan josh. It tasted ok. It was a bit oily. The garlic naan was tasty. What I thought was weird was rice didn't come with rice. In fact, it cost an extra $4 for rice. I abstained from ordering it. Prices seemed a bit high considering. Over all, it was ok. Nothing terrible, but nothing amazing. read more

The man who served us was so lack luster and impersonal. His customer service skills could definitely use improvement. He acted like he didn't want to be bothered with US. This place has great reviews so maybe it was just US. Thankfully his wife was extremely gracious. And by the way the food was also horrible the meat was tough and chewy. Thankfully there are LOADS of other great Indian restaurants with beautiful and gracious hospitality because we most likely will never return here!! read more

Food was amazing! Fresh Fresh Fresh! Cooked to perfection and the naan bread was made from scratch perfectly cooked! Service was slower than expected and we had take out, but worth the wait! Ambiance well needs work, put some music in here or maybe a TV, it's too quiet! This was our first visit but we will be going weekly! This appears to be a husband wife team and a true family business. If you're in a hurry it's not for you, but if you want real authentic Indian food this is the place! Support this place with your business and let the owners know the foods great and you appreciate them! read more

So i was looking for a good Indian restaurant locally and happen to see this place with high reviews. I'm so happy that we decided to dine here, everything was delicious! Lamb samosa was very flavorful. Chicken tandoori was so juicy, chicken masala and goat masala were so flavorful and tender, they paired well with garlic naan and saffron basmati rice. The owners (husband and wife) was friendly, they opened this restaurant for 17 years if I remember it right. I will definitely come back again for authentic delicious foods. read more

Went for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! Chicken makhani was great naan fresh and samosa was crispy and flavorful

Milton told me he ate a heck of a cucumber salad at this place. I've been here some time ago. The salad was outstanding. So fresh with a delicate touch of comino and cilantro! Lord it makes me hungry again! I love their fresh Chai Tea. Best around! We had two and I wish I would have had another! The chicken tikka massala was great over the basmati rice with perfect seasoning! And topped off with excellent nan! If you like Indian Food it's a great place, plus Mary the owner, is always coming out checking to see if all is all right! Been a while, just because we forget about it, but I'll be back! read more

The chicken vindaloo is my must go-back-for dish. I get it spicy, and it is indeed spicy. The taste of the curry is just wow! The potato soaks up all the curry and adds to the spice. The chicken is good, but for me, the main star of the show is the curry. Sometimes when I get it to-go, I eat it with a glass of milk ready on the side to help my mouth cool down! I've tried other dishes before, butter chicken, palak paneer, biryani, and all were good, but for me, the chicken vindaloo is the best for me. The wait can be a bit too long at times. I would suggest calling in early for to-go and dine in if they accept it. If you know what you want, it's better since it takes a good 25-35 mins. I called in for dine in, and I waited not too long for the dishes to come out, but for those customers that came and order, it does take some time. Customer service for me has been generally ok. I've never had a bad experience with staff where it would keep me from coming back, and I'm definitely a return customer for the chicken vindaloo! read more

Indian food restaurant in a strip mall - how good can it be? Fan-freaking-tastic! Yea, this Just may be the best Indian food I've ever had. I thought I had just found the crème de La crème a short couple months earlier - then Keema Naan! Oh my gosh. I could order just that for dinner and be completely satisfied ! Mind blown its so good! Bit in to the second main course - lamb Rogan Josh - and yes, freaking fantastic and tender. Yup. Gotta go back again before leaving the area!! read more

Be sincere and don't get smart with your customers. So I walked in with my covid19 mask on and saw two customers as a couple having already seated at a small table and they wanted me to sit right behind their table no more than 3 feet away from them. I then asked the man there whether I could be seated at a table across from theirs, in the center of the room, which seats 6 people and more than 6 feet away of social distancing.... Problem is, the man says it's not possible and I asked him why. His response was that the table is only reserved for 3 or more people. OKAY then what's the point of seating me a mere 3 feet from your only other 2 customers out of the whole restaurant if you're concerned with social distancing??? So I asked what are the chances of 3 or more people walking in at this hour and his reply was 90 to 98%. That's when I saw the BS mixed with his spitefulness and walked out. If you look at the current business hour below, google even determines its not usually busy. Funny! read more

Ordered everything mild but it came super hot, so my kids couldn't eat it. He got an attitude when I didn't order rice. The place has gotten pricey for the portion of food. The flavor is really good. read more

This was my first time trying Indian food and it was amazing. I ordered the chicken roganjosh medium spicy. (I could have done spicy). It doesn't come with rice so you have to order that separately but it was only $3.vMy husband ordered the chicken biryani spicy. And we ordered garlic naan. All of the food was amazing. Bombay Grill - Chicken Rogan Josh, chicken biriyani, garlic naan, saffron rice - Indian Near Me - Richmond, Texas

Very good but small portions for the price! We got the tikka masala and we all loved it but wished there was more of it for what we payed.

This is some of the best authentic Indian food in southeast Texas, we are lucky to have them so close to pecan grove.

Its a waste of money! Small portion size. All gravy and almost no meat. First off, when I opened my takeout order, there was no name on any of the orders. I had to guess which one is what. I ordered chicken curry, chicken korma, aloo gobi masala and charboiled fish tikka. Very small portion size for all of the items. On top of that, there was hardly about 5-6 pieces of meat on the chicken dishes. Also, their dishes dint come with rice. Charboiled fish tikka was terrible. Its tilapia fish came with just 3-4 fish meat pieces and it was no where close to tikka. It was so bland and salt was way off to taste. As for chicken curry, I ordered for mild but it was not mild at all. They dint deliver what I ordered. Chicken meat was tough and chewy. Only good thing was for both the chicken dishes, gravy tasted fine. But its all gravy topped with couple of rubbery meat pieces. I rarely write negative reviews. And its one of those rare reviews. I can relate to all the negative experiences shared here. It was really a waste of money. read more

The food is very good. I have the entire family enjoying Indian food. The service is quality. The owner is an absolute trip. When you order, he looks to correct instead of adding upsells and additional suggestions. I think it is hilarious. What he doesn't know, is how much time some of us may have spent in country. Just give us what we order, and when we order spicier than the pits of hell, let us. We may be ordering that way, because that is what we want to eat. We love the food at this restaurant, and highly recommended. read more

Wanted to post an update on Bombay Grill, and just say that they continue to make wonderful meals and is really a jewel in the neighborhood. If you like Indian food at all, I would highly recommend you try this location. They do have dining in as well as takeout, and I would say that our family uses takeout the majority of the time and have never had a problem with our orders. Also, they do know how to use their spices well, so be advised when ordering that hot is actually hot and if you like something a little milder to go with mild for sure. Enjoy. read more

I am please to write this review as it is my 100th review, this place is located in the Richmond area; by far the most underrated place I've ever been to. Out of all the Indian/Pakistani restaurants I've dine at, Aga and Bombay grill is by far the best. The service is absolutely amazing and the food comes out fresh and hot. We ordered the Punjabi Samosa as an appetizer, let's just say it was a 5/5 flawless; the inside was filled with deliciousness. The main course was cooked to perfection, we ordered the Chicken biryani and butter chicken. I would like to add that the butter chicken blew my scale; perfect amount of spice and the chicken melted in my mouth. The next time I am in Richmond TX this will be my go to spot. read more

Bombay Grill - 5/5 - Indian Near Me - Richmond, Texas

Times are tough so hoping isolated incident but I'm certain the waiter tried to scam me Out of $14 on bill. Only two people in restaurant and we were table of two and ordered two dishes and two glasses of wine. When I questioned bill total, he showed me itemized briefly on the handheld machine and he said it was just the tip that brought it to $75 so then I asked him to actually let me study the bill and then I noticed the wine line item was zeroed out which made no sense. Only then did he say, "oh let me fix that" and took off $14 off my bill. So still not sure the "error" but I'd just say pay attention especially if you order drinks. The food was great and I hope this neighborhood business stays afloat. read more

They warn you right in their menu that this will not be a quick meal because everything is cooked fresh when you order. Also, it's a husband and wife running it alone so they are running back and forth between taking orders and cooking food. Having ate my way through the Indian food scenes in many cities, I can assure you that this is the freshest Indian food I've had outside of India. But if you're hungry, make sure you order an appetizer to get you through. The flavors are full and the colors vibrant. The food is fresh and hot. The naan was phenomenal. The only reason their not getting stars is 1. They definitely over watered down their chutneys and they were pretty runny. 2. They over fried one of our samosas and it was burnt. We didn't return it because we just felt bad how busy they were. 3. Because they're so busy, drink refills really take a long time. Overall, if they just got extra staff to help, this would be a 5 star experience. read more

This is some of the most most delicious food I've ever tasted. The food always looks fresh, hot and made to order. I order the butter chicken with garlic naan and the sauce is just on point with a great portion of chicken and a side of rice. Punjabi Samosas are a must, Do it. I would recommend some background music for the dining area and maybe a TV for dine in customers. Nonetheless, My family and I will always definitely return. Fantastic, family run business that never disappoints. Every dish I've had here meets its mark. Especially like the lamb korma and the various Vindaloos. I do not generally write many reviews, but food here made me do... (in a good sense) They serve pretty good food, in both veg and non veg options. We ordered onion kulcha butter Naan and veg kohlapuri.. and it was best I had so far ... Awesome food read more

We decided to try this place bc our regular Kurry Walah was closed. It had a lot of good reviews but it definitely didn't live up to it. Honestly, if you don't eat much from other countries and you like your food more on the bland side- you will probably love this. If you are super white living in Richmond I totally get why you give this place such high reviews. If you are used to eating food from other countries the way people from other countries eat it- this is NOT your place. I can say they don't joke with their spicy- when you say extra spicy they actually follow through which is unusual. We ordered some of our usual go-to dishes Butter Chicken (Makhani) for the kids, Channa Masala, Saag Paneer, Chicken Biryani, Fish Tikka, Chicken Ceylon, and Plain Naan. The Butter chicken is sweet. The Channa Masala(ordered mild since it was for my kids but it came super spicy) was...there. Just sort of bland. You taste it and you see color but you don't taste it. The Saag Paneer has to be the most disappointing. It's frozen spinach that they maybe add a touch of cream or something but it's no flavor just frozen spinach with cubes of paneer. And the paneer I don't know for sure but I suspect it was frozen as well. Chicken Biryani was mediocre. It was fine, but nothing exciting. Fish Tikka- again you see color and flavor but don't taste anything. I barely even tasted fish. The Chicken Ceylon was...interesting? I've never had the chicken be quite so green before. Like REALLY green. The flavor was fine- it's chicken breast so the chicken was maybe a touch on the dry side but fine. And the Naan was good- just what you'd expect from Naan. We did not order rice as it doesn't come with your meal and it's $3/16oz. I can buy my own basmati and stick it in the rice cooker for next to nothing so I'm never going to pay for rice. The food being mediocre took this to 3 stars. Another star was for the high expense of the mediocre food. Honestly- The frozen spinach was so disappointing I would take a star for that alone. read more
