Good little Indian spot in Greenpoint with a few locations all over the city. Very lowkey spot, with no frills. Everything is as you would expect- we got samosas to start, which were delicious as always. For entrees we ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, which were both delicious. I MAY HAVE JUST FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE INDIAN RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK. Food: I had the Lamb Vindaloo. The spice had me sweating, but that's my favorite kind of spice. So packed with flavor and the lamb pieces buried in the curry was so juicy and tender. Delicious to dip some garlic naan into. My gf thoroughly enjoyed her Chicken Korma as well. My favorites were the chicken tikka masala, shrimp biryani, and tandoori mixed grill. The meat on the mixed grill was tender, shrimp biryani was delicious, and the curry was super flavorful. The portions are a bit small but you'll still be full with a couple dishes. Service (5/5): We came early from the group and the waiters had no issues with seating us despite being a large group in a small restaurant. They took the effort to rearrange the tables to fit us well. The food came out at a reasonably good pace. They checked up on us a few times. Amazing food! Came on a Saturday night and there were no one else besides us. Not sure why because the food was delicious! I absolutely loved the garlic naan and the chicken tikka masala. The biryani came with the bread on top which was very cool! You do have to ask for spicy and for the yogurt sauce. Amazing service too! Waiters were attentive and very fast. What a great take out Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. They have a great dinner option where you get a naan, appetizer and an entree for around 18-19 dollars. We really enjoyed the fried cauliflower and vegetable samosas as well as the aloo gobi and chicken tikka masala. We got a regular naan and paid a few cents extra for the garlic. The naan was surprisingly average given how good everything else was. We then split the grilled meat platter. The salmon was surprisingly tasty. read more

The vegetarian aloo gobhi mutter is delicious! The cauliflower is cooked just enough that it gives a little crunch. It goes well with the garlic naan or the rice that comes with the dish. They have happy hour that gives 20% from 3-5pm, also during weekday, you can get 50% off during lunch time. read more

I'm grading this place for delivery. Delivery is prompt, and so far I've had the Bhindi masala and chana masala. Both are great! Like really great. And I've eaten them all over NYC. Bhindi was well-cooked, spicy. Chana masala was deep, like really effin deep, fruity, and well-balanced. I'd have loved more heat but who's counting. These were in the top tier. I do find their naan too doughy, not charred enough, and underwhelming. Their roti is eh. But for entrees, so far I'm loving it! read more

This place is SO good! Went there for lunch and the service is quick and the food is 10/10! I had the Chicken Tikka Masala with butter naan and rice. The Tikka Masala was rich in flavor and the white meat chicken was excellent! The naan was the best I've had! Their to go containers are so cute. I'll definitely be coming back here. Ordered here for my family for Iftar as they sell Halal food. We got the Garlic Naans ($3.50/each), the Chicken Tikka Masala ($13.95), Goat Curry ($12.95), and the Chicken Biryani ($12.95). Average pricing. Everything was neatly packaged well, and delivered in a timely fashion. All the dishes were nice and hot. The portions are pretty big to share with 4 people. The chicken tikka masala and the goat curry also came with sides of rice. Everyone generally enjoyed the food. I enjoyed the chicken biryani and the chicken tikka masala the most from all the items. The goat curry would have be better if it included more meaty pieces. The goat curry container I received had more bones & curry than meat. read more

Very solid Indian choice. We ate there (and were the only diners at 6 on a Saturday night - my guess is their business is overwhelmingly delivery and pick-up). Pretty basic and bright interior - with a TV with Indian game shows in the corner. Each of our starters and mains were quite good. More than satisfied. The prices are not just reasonable, but affirmatively low for the area. And the portions are large. If you're in the mood for Indian, this is a good call. read more

They just opened a new location in Forest Hills. I was walking by and made a spontaneous decision to get dinner. It was a great find. The owner was super nice and the food was spot on. We at this on the sidewalk so it was still fresh when we got it. But for us the food just didn't hit. I recognize it's fusion, but maybe the way things were meant to be balanced didn't mesh. The (impossible burger patty) lahori felt quite bland. Maybe because the burger patty was so thick, but it just kind of was overwhelmed by generic beef patty taste which wasn't what I was expecting. The nihari had some really good flavor, but I found the bread was somehow both quite dry and soggy at the same time. It's hard to describe, but I felt like it was working against the actual nihari flavor. Sadly I do think something like naan or basmati rice would've been better. The fries were pretty unremarkable, too. Just tasted like fries you'd get at your local bodega. I don't expect the wheel to be reinvented when it comes to fusion restaurants, but I just felt nothing actually balanced themselves well (at least for what we ordered). For $50 pre-tip, I'm a bit disappointed. This place has been on my hit list for a while, but I can't see myself wanting to go back. Staff was friendly and the space, albeit small, can fit groups of 2-4 pretty easily. I have a few friends that really like this place, so maybe I'm just the odd one out.
