Amazing customer service, the space is small but the atmosphere is welcoming. We parked on the street and dined in. Enjoyed a Pizza Margherita, carne empanada and mango margarita. The churro donuts were really delicious, they were made to order which was the best part because they were soft and hot and sweet. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for filling and delicious bites.

Boludo: The Pizza That Made Me Question My Life Choices (In a Good Way) Listen. I came to Boludo expecting a casual bite. What I got was a full-blown flavor intervention. I walked in a student. I walked out a disciple of the Church of Crispy Crust and Spicy Caesar. Let's start with the pepperoni pizza, which I can only describe as a saucy, cheesy, pepperoni-studded love letter from the pizza gods. The pepperoni doesn't just sit there--it poses. It curls up into these little grease chalices like it's auditioning for a Vogue cover shoot. The crust? So airy and crispy it probably has its own TikTok following. I took one bite and immediately texted my ex, "It's not you, it's Boludo." And then--plot twist--the Caesar salad came in hot (well, cold, but you get me). I thought I was just ordering a side salad. What I got was a spicy, crunchy, flavor-packed slap in the face. It's like Caesar himself rose from the dead, added chili flakes, and said, "Et tu, romaine?" The vibe is effortlessly cool, the staff are friendlier than your favorite TA, and the prices won't make your wallet cry. Honestly, if you're a U of M student and you haven't been here yet, I'm not mad--I'm just disappointed.

OK, this Cesar salad is bonkers. It was gigantic and delish. The crouton crumble is spicy and I couldn't get enough. This pizza is LOADED with cheese and just so tasty. It's not sauce heavy, which I liked. We also shared several empanadas and they were all really great. The service is friendly and the space is on the small side. Highly recommend.

Boludo is a great laid back pizza and empanada spot. They have friendly employees and a quaint atmosphere. I had the Pepperoni Pizza and Jamón Y Queso Empanada. The pizza has a unique shape and is pretty good sized. The pizza had a thin crust and was a great compliment to the sauce and the outstanding flavor of the pepperoni. The empanada was flaky and savory with the ham and mozzarella cheese. Parking might be my only complaint. Since it's close to the U of M, the streets are lined with cars. Even with that, this is definitely a spot worth eating at!

We LOVE Boludo's pizza and have gone to other locations, so when my family was in town, we decided to take them here! SERVICE: 3/5 Unfortunately, the counter service was really lacking on our visit. The woman taking our order had her headphones in and seemed so annoyed at having to take our order. She brought our food out with an unfriendly demeanor and seemed so unhappy to be there, it brought down the mood of the space. However, as we were leaving and she was in the bathroom, we said thank you to the kitchen team since it's an open kitchen and they were soooo friendly and said goodbye and thank you to us! I don't love the mandatory service fee with it being counter service and bussing our own tables. FOOD: 5/5 Their pizzas simply can't be beat. Every flavor is divine and the crust, cheese on top, and toppings are just unreal. Best gluten free pizza I've had? Probably. We went overboard and ordered just about every pizza and empanada on the menu. I don't dream of their empanadas quite as much as the pizza, though they are yummy too. We loved the house salad we got too - so fresh and filling! AMBIANCE: 4/5 The vibe is a bit funny here (and at other locations) - there is large bench and table seating, but most people take it to go so even on a weekend evening, we were one of two tables there.

I think this location was having an off day when we visited. My boyfriend is from Argentina so I really wanted to take him here as I have really good memories of my previous experience at Boludo. This time however the empanadas were a little lack luster. My favorite is the ham and cheese and as you can see in the picture it was a bit over done so it wasn't super enjoyable. The others were fine but not as good as I remembered. Not to worry though I'll definitely have to go back and get them again - and maybe a pizza next time too.

A rad, casual establishment to hang out, grab a drink, and eat delicious empanadas (and pizza!). I'd say the place and the people gave off cool vibes. Empanada Orders: Pollo: Chicken, peppers, oregano Humita: corn, Fresno and Serrano peppers, fontina LOVED the humita. Almost anything with corn is a good thing. Aside from the food, service was fast and friendly. Parking was easy on the street.

This pizza is amazing! I ordered the Peras, which had the perfect balance of pears, cheese, nuts, and black pepper. The dill (and whatever was in the base) brought everything together in a savory/fruity blend of tastiness. I ordered through a delivery app and received my order ahead of schedule.

The food was good. I enjoyed the empanadas! The place has some seating but not much so make sure you claim a spot if you see one. The workers didn't seem super friendly but they were quick and efficient. The churro donuts have a bit of salt, but it turned out to be really salty...

All the rating goes to the food and not the environment, which means that when I get food from Boludo next time I will most likely do takeout instead of dine in, which is totally okay, because based on the food alone, Boludo absolutely deserves a 5. The empanadas are just delicious and each kind offers such a different type of flavor dimension. The only ones that tasted similar were carne and pollo because they used similar kinds of seasoning. I could taste the cumin visibly for both. The other kinds were pretty representative of their respective menu descriptions. There was also a small container of sauce we could use for the empanadas, and I don't know what the sauce was made from, but it was really good! Totally offered an even new kind of flavor. I have to comment on the Messi empanada because I actually liked it the least even if it was the special item. Its ingredients determined that it tasted almost like a hot pocket, and when I had it I just kept thinking "why am I ordering this here at Boludo" simultaneously. In terms of the pizza, I had one bite of the Peras and I thought it was great. The only problem for me was personal, that I didn't like gorgonzola cheese, so the "nasty" cheese taste made me realize how good the pizza would be for someone who loves that kind of cheese, and that's why I thought it was great (even if not for me). The Margarita, on the hand, was out of this world for me! I have had this kind of pizza in many places, but this one in Boludo was so good because I could taste the basil so well even when there was clearly not a basil leaf on a slice, let alone on slices that actually had basil leaves. The cheese was visibly fresh, which was amazing as well. The pizza was really thin, so I actually had to use a fork to transfer it to my plate, but that's okay because more content less crust anyway. Okay, now that I have talked about the food, I must say that when I stepped in, there were dirty plates everywhere and no one was cleaning them up. Luckily no customers were there so I was able to find a clean table. In addition, a lot of the plates were not really well-washed because I could visibly see dirty spots and sometimes even leftover food marks still on most of the plates available for customers to grab. All of these observations tell me that next time I should pursue takeout here. Regardless, the empanadas and pizzas were some of the best I have had anywhere in the Twin Cities and I would strongly recommend Boludo to anyone!

Get yourself to Boludo's off Como! The downtown location always seems so busy and not worth the wait, but this location is kind of tucked away behind UMN campus. Lively atmosphere, but we didn't have to wait super long for our food. Less busy but just as good! I am a big fan of wood fire pizzas, and these were delicious. Definitely recommend the empanadas with chimichurri to start. I also got a single glass of wine, which was filled to the brim (!).

I ordered through Uber Eats using a gift card I got for my birthday and this pizza was not living up to my expectations though the photos are great. This could have been because the pizza doesn't carry well for deliveries, so I'm willing to come back to try it in person/on-site. The quality of the boxes the pizzas were in was really impressive, almost like shoe box quality but cardboard. Commend them on the branding! Pizza looked promising but completely under delivered. The bottom of the pizza was completely soggy and falling apart, the pizza was only held together with the amount of cheese, the sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. I'm not generally a fan of traditionally savory items being made sweet. The sauce kind of ruined it for me, which made the pizza pretty unsalvageable but the crust was quite good, wood fire tasting. The crust on the porteno specifically was really good, had some flavor on it which I can appreciate! The soggy bottom was the cherry on top, just kind of disintegrated in front of my very eyes. The cheese and meat on the pepperoni pie was good and seemed of quality but I couldn't really get through the porteno pizza because of how sweet everything was. Hopefully my partner will finish all of this, it was pretty expensive! $24.50 for the porteno and $20.50 for the pepperoni. Saving grace was the flan I ordered for dessert. It was made with candied pecans and dulce de leche, this was so decadent and cute in a little mason jar, highly recommend the flan!

I stopped by on a warm evening following the Legacy Cup, and the smell alone was worth the trip -- buttery pastry and savory fillings drifting out the door. The empanadas are the real deal -- perfectly golden on the outside, with just the right amount of crunch before you hit the soft, flavorful center. My favorites were the beef (rich, perfectly seasoned, with just enough spice) and the caprese (melty cheese, tomato, and basil that somehow feels both indulgent and fresh). Not to mention their french fries have that same golden crispy affect as well! Their chimichurri sauce is liquid gold. I ended up dipping everything in it -- no regrets. The staff was friendly and genuinely seemed excited to talk about their food, which made the experience even better. The space itself is cozy and bright, with a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to hang out for a bit, grab a mate or a local beer, and take your time. Prices are super reasonable for the quality -- you can easily have a filling meal for under $15. I do recommend this place however if you want to wash it down with a beverage, be aware of Malcolm yards costs.

It wasn't super flavorful, but it was nice and healthy tasting. FYI, I normally like spinach stuffed foods. The bbq chicken empanada was inedible. I was successful found a spot at the end of the bar and was greeted by a few very helpful bartenders who took very good care of me and helped me with recommendations. As this was a solo dining experience it can prove tricky on what to order without going too overboard - especially staying in a hotel without reheating options. I started off with a cocktail called the Santo Drift. Great flavor and smooth. Would've ordered another, but I came in with a plan to only get one cocktail and one wine. I got the empanadas and they were probably one of the best I've ever had. An instant must order. I then ordered the Entraña (6oz) with chimichurri as my sauce. Very traditional and extremely tasty. I was affirmed with my decision to go with my usual medium rare temp - whereas some cuts it was recommended to go Medium and so on. The meat was PERFECT. To go with it I also ordered the pommes puree with garlic gravy - it's as good as it sounds which is VERY GOOD. To go with my steak I paired it myself with a Montepulciano red - one i am very familiar with and paired nicely with the steak and puree. To wrap things up I am a sucker for an Olive Oil cake - theirs was really good. Doesn't beat my all time favorite at a place near me in my hometown, but this one had a nice fruit element different than the typical berries I am used to going with it. As I was enjoying it one of the bartenders came over and provided a lively complimentary liquor - a small but very lovely serving. The atmosphere was exceptional. The service was phenomenal. The food instantly became a top highlight for my trip, and the overall experience has me wanting more.
