2nd Time Amended: Another company fixed the problem, easily and quickly, without adding on additional costs that WERE NOT quoted in the estimate, as stated in the response by Bolt Blitz. Like, I said, there are other, more honest companies out there. Nobody wants to deal with this kind of back and forth from a company that is dishonest and doesn't take responsibility when you have an electrical issue in your home. Choose someone else. Amended: Steer clear! Now the guy responded to my original review by calling me a liar and saying he didn't say the breaker needed to be replaced. He was on speaker and my partner heard the entire conversation. He hemmed and hawed and then back pedaled on that, but still wanted to charge me an extra $200...And his response did not address that after telling him in the initial contact (before agreeing to use them) that I needed it fixed ASAP, but once they were there, he said they couldn't do it until the next day, when I already paid the deposit and the technician was already at my house. Then he told me that the extra $200 was to cover that they had to come back on another day, which is beyond ridiculous. The technician doesn't carry extra wire? It was not my fault that they would have to come back on a different day, but more importantly, I should have been told this upfront. I would've chosen a different company, as I said I needed it done ASAP. This is not honest business. Another company said the wires were not burned, and did not need to be replaced. They just needed to be encased better as the problem was caused by water getting into the box. So they didn't even really troubleshoot the problem that I paid $175 for. There are many other choices on Yelp. Pick someone else. Original post: Kind of disappointed. Although they showed up quickly, and diagnosed the issue, which I paid for, when I contacted them, I stressed that I needed it fixed today. When I talked to the technician he told me that the breaker was fine, they just had to replace some wires at the outdoor box, the GFCI, and the cover for the outdoor outlet. The owner called me and said they had to replace the breaker, and when I told him his guy said they didn't, he said, well they also have to replace some wiring (which was 1 1/2 feet of wire) and it was going to cost $400 as opposed to the original $200 I was quoted, and then he said they couldn't do it today. So I paid $175 for the diagnosis, and now it's not fixed. I would've gone with another company had they told me they couldn't do it today. And I definitely didn't like the dishonest bait and switch in the price. read more

This morning at 5 AM our smoke detector and fire alarm system decided to go off. My wife and I searched throughout the house; no fire. But the system continued to trigger. I had to go to work and sent a request to get some quotes. Bolt Blitz Electric responded to me within minutes, even that early in the morning, and prioritized driving all the way to the desert on short notice from Hollywood so my wife could have this behind her and back to watching the kids. Upon arrival, our entire system was inspected and they asked questions to best inform the course of action to resolve our concern. They provided an estimate and were transparent about where we could reduce the cost to us with a little leg work on our part, or leave the entire project to them to resolve. Communication was prompt and professional. We were educated about common problems, solutions, and what to do to maintain the system in the future. The costs were transparent. The work was thorough. My area was hit with a long black-out on the night of July 4th. At 4 am the power was finally restored and suddenly, a very old alarm system that I didn't even know still worked, blared loudly. Some quick research helped me figure out how to disarm it but it only lasted a few minutes and then it would go off again. I checked Yelp for electricians close by and put a message out asking for help. Daniel, the owner of Bolt Blitz Electric responded very quickly and was at my house before 8 am. He gave me several options and I opted to have the system completely removed. He started work immediately and was polite, explained the work as he did it and cleaned up all materials and any mess made in taking out all the sensors, wiring and controls. It took hours on a very hot day and he was an absolute life saver. I asked him about some possible work in the future and he responded with a quote and time frame for the job within 24 hours.
