Sub par filed nails with dip power

Bolsa Salon is where my good friend gets her nails done. I missed my appt with my tech, Julie, at VIP Nails and I decided to go closer to home. She's on vacation as well as my backup tech, Lilly. Michelle did a decent enough job to hold me over until my next appt. The reason I rated this so low is because when I asked the price, Michelle said it was $50. All I received was a dip color, no designs, nothing extra. When I checked out she charged me $62. The $2 was a credit card charge. When I was at her table I saw her write $60 on her receipt book but I didn't realize she was adding $10 extra to my service so I ignored it. She wrote it and slipped it in her draw quickly. When she realized I didn't have cash she told me to bring cash the next time. Then she asked if I had Venmo. I said no. We walk to the register and the total was now $62. I was upset because she assumes I'm so tired I wouldn't remember the price. I should have called her out but I'm never returning. I don't like businesses that cheat their customers. I don't mind paying for services rendered. I always tip and because she was dishonest I only tipped $5 since clearly she desperately needed extra money. I called my friend and she told me she pays $50 for her dip powder. So now that I've confirmed that she robbed me, I'm writing this review. I heard customers speaking during the appointment and they said the owner is in Vietnam or I would have walked back in and complained to her. I'm a middle aged woman who lives a drama free life and I did not want to cause a scene in this establishment over $10.

I absolutely love coming here for my nails. I am allergic to gel and they are very accommodating and clean! I get dip nails with a tip, and every time they come out amazing! I will continue to come here! (Sofia is awesome)

First time visit, very, very happy with Sophia. She listened carefully to the type of pedicure I wanted.(straight nails to ingrown toenails), and did the correct type of manicure acrylic fill in. I will be going back!

Walked in with my two daughters for two full sets, and a manicure. Everyone was kind and welcoming, time management skills and consideration is second to none. We chose Bolsa because we were nearby, and they had good reviews, we live about 20 miles away, there are DOZENS of nail salons between here and there, but we will be returning to Bolsa. See Sofia! She is amazing! As a nail tech and a person in general

I came here because of the positive reviews, but was extremely disappointed. The woman who did my mom's dip manicure took TWO ENTIRE HOURS! Not even perfect at the end. The woman who did my gel manicure left 4/10 nails with jagged edges. When I asked her to fix them, she rolled her eyes and laughed. Really sub par service. Nice people, but simply not good at nails :(

Chipped powder/dip manicure after 7 days

Leaving Bolsa after my first manicure there I was very impressed and even made a pedicure appointment later that week. They took their time (I was there for over 90 minutes for a powder manicure) but they were very thorough. My hands were soft and my cuticles were FLAWLESS. However, their powder manicure was $50 ($15 more than my usual salon) and they charge to take off previous powder which in my mind is ridiculous. The reason behind the 2 stars. My powder manicure, which usually lasts 4-5 weeks before chipping, chipped within in 5 DAYS. And multiple nails chipped within a week. I have never experienced powder to chip this early especially not on so many nails! Not worth $50 for sure and I will be returning to my old salon.

I'm from out of town and was looking for a new salon to do my nails. My experience here was great. The staff was very warm and welcoming. I got a powder dip manicure and the woman did an excellent job. I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because my appointment took 2 hours, which is way too long for a manicure. Will definitely be back though in the future.

Great customer service and great results! I moved to ROC 3 months ago and was long overdue for a manicure and pedicure, so I'm glad I found Bolsa Nails. It will be my local go-to nail salon from now on. The owner (or manager?) Katie was quick to respond to appointment inquiries, and when it came to my nails, Zenna was very diligent with getting my worn feet fresh again and my dull nails precisely shaped and shiny. Clean facilities and extra steps taken to follow COVID safety precautions.

The tech struggled to match a simple beige, first suggesting white, then purple? I eventually searched myself, after receiving no clear direction to the gel colors on the wall. One tech commented I took a long time - wasn't even 5 minutes. Most importantly - the salon was visibly dirty. Nail dust everywhere, tools looked used and unsanitized, and the sink hadn't been cleaned in a while. One tech even picked something off a cuticle cutter before using it on me. The service felt rushed, with no massage, scrub, nothing. I left feeling uneasy and immediately cleaned my hands and nails at home to avoid infection or fungus. First and last visit. Hygiene matters, do better!

Ok I have NOT been to this location or at this business in like six years. They use to be over in…read morethe wedge on South. This place from what I can ascertain its appointment only. You do everything online including cancellation and etc. Don't both dm'ing them on social media to cancel it's ONLINE ONLY. You go online pick a date and see what dates are available and of course what services you want. You will put in your credit/debit card and they will take a deposit and the rest is paid after the service. When they check you out the remainder will be paid. They don't do cash payments. You are welcome to tip in cash but make sure you have exact change. I came here as the person I normally see I double booked myself and she had no appointments available anytime this month (June 2024) so I decided to try this place again. If you want a place to roll into I can recommend a place but most spots now want an appointment. They are on the first floor as I think other businesses are here as well. The inside is light and bright, light woods and comfortable seating. I was greeted and asked to wash my hands.. ok I did not get that as I was here for a pedicure.. so... Also I was offered a drink, water, coffee, wine a nice touch. Now the set up for the pedicure was nice but I wished I could have moved back the chair, I had a pillow behind me but I got rid of it but I was comfortable but it was just wonky. I'm tall and usually they will adjust how you sit. This is minor but if you're tall ask if the chair can be adjusted. My nail tech Maddy Elizabeth was lovely, friendly and efficient. I picked out a color they have a bunch and if you want a gel type it's an additional cost. I got a more souped up pedicure with warm stones and a mask. The execution of the pedicure was great but the additional stuff did not seem too luxurious. The clay mask she almost forgot about than she put on warm towels and use also used warm stones. This was a nice touch but maybe I expected a bit more for $75.00. Oh well that's just me... When you are done you go into the back room and you dry your feet/hands for a bit. My feet I had a fan to dry my feet, not a big deal but it was odd... I think most are use to a light source or someone uses a quick dry. I think since they are all about 7 to 11 free nail items. While I was waiting I was offered a glass of rose if I wanted. The check out was easy and they did ask if I wanted another appointment. I said no but thank you. I'll keep them in mind when I can't get in with my regular person. From what I understand they are opening another location in Monroe in Brighton. This location from what I was told will get a refresh. All in all it was a lovely experience and a great pedicure. They share a parking lot and they ha e specific spaces for the business a plus. 4.5 out of 5

When I asked for a refund (on the same day as service) my requests were ignored until several days later, and then denied. "We need to pay our employees a living wage." By screwing your customers? Not to mention the damage done to my cuticles, which were left peeling and bleeding. Apparently, this was somehow my fault, per the response I received from the salon. I don't know if every manicurist there is terrible or not (this was my first and last visit), but to call what I received a 'professional manicure' is an insult to actual professional manicurists. Don't take my word for it, the photos speak for themselves.
