We signed up for recital shows and it's just money drain with you paying for poorly fitting costumes to buying tickets even for performances. In a 45 min class they spend 5 mins over recital performance with no repeat in the same session so kids can pick up the steps.

Margela and Mappy are great at making people feel comfortable, as are the other instructors, and there's a variety of routines and styles. If you've always wanted to try dancing but having doubts, look no further. The studio shares space with other classes, including step and martial arts, so it's generally very lively in the evenings. You can choose to drop in or sign up for a regular weekly class (or two) - there's a slight discount if you do more than one class a week. Generally all adult classes are in the weekday evenings, which makes them convenient to come to after work. I highly recommend this studio - come check it out!

Then came covid in 2020 and I stopped dancing entirely up until 2024 where I had to start over again and luckily I found Hermosura Dance Productions (HDP). I've been taking bachata classes at HDP for about 6-7 months now and I must say that Helen is a fantastic teacher! She focuses on building a strong foundation to make you a better dancer which other schools just don't teach which I wish I had engrained in me when I first started dancing. On top of the fundamentals, Helen teaches nice patterns that allow you to dance with people of different levels (as a leader, this has been great!). She also provides constructive feedback during class to help you improve your dancing as well as understand how it is danced (e.g. in bachata you are pushing the floor with your feet). I highly recommend going to HDP for classes or tailored lessons, depending on your needs. Helen teaches many styles of dance from salsa on 1 (and on 2), cumbia, bachata, and rueda. Even if you've never danced before, you will be welcomed to class as if you were a regular so don't be afraid to sign up for your first class!

A friend of mine was participating so I went to attend it. I thought I will check out her performance, meet her and will come back but I stayed there for the entire event. Their dance performances were soooo good. Overall 10-12 dance groups performed. Toddlers, kids, youth, and adults all were part of different groups. I was amazed that they could train toddlers as well. It is one tough job, I must say. Kids danced well and co-ordination was good. It was surely difficult to teach them as well. Dances by youth were great and it was apparent that they were their students from a long time. Dances by adults were good and most people in the group had never performed in their entire life. Now this is surely a motivation to learn to dance ;) There were 3 performances by their advance students and they were mind blowing. Their moves and performances were so mesmerizing that you will have no idea about your surroundings and time. I loved all of their performances and will surely join them in future.
