My daughter is usually very shy, but Miss Mariah was somehow able to get my daughter out of her shell and be confident as ever while she's dancing! Miss Mariah is absolutely amazing at what she does, and she's a great combination of patient & loving, yet still has amazing structure with the girls. My daughter loved her previous class but was looking for some more structure which they publicize so we joined. Since joining things went downhill. We picked a specific class bcoz it was taught by Miss Amaya. One class into the year she left. The energy levels in the class tanked. And there was no communication about teacher change. Most other place have a makeup policy specially for toddlers. This place offers none unless they need to reschedule. We signed up for recital shows and it's just money drain with you paying for poorly fitting costumes to buying tickets even for performances. In a 45 min class they spend 5 mins over recital performance with no repeat in the same session so kids can pick up the steps. read more

My daughter has been with TDA for more than 3 years. She took different classes at the Fremont studio, e.g., ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap. Though different teachers have different teaching styles, Isabelle did like all those teachers she had, i.e., Miss Kelly, Illora, Sarah, Desiree, and most recently, Miss Monique and Miranda. I especially appreciate that TDA took COVID-19 seriously and implemented the necessary procedures early in the pandemic, then also created the new Dancily online program. It provides me with a very good alternative when I don't feel comfortable yet to send her back for school/extracurricular activities. I came across this dance school over a year ago, through a free trial coupon I received in the mail. They have ballet, jazz, hip-hop...it all depends on the age of your child. The location for this one is right on Fremont Blvd so you either have to park on this busy street or in the back. They have a small 'viewing room' for the parents...this is where we gather and wait for the class to exit and for the next class to go in. (on a side note, it would be nice for the classes to be spaced at least 5 minutes apart, instead of back to back. The reason I suggest this is because, the room is small so you have to wait for other parents to leave their chair before anyone else from the next class can settle in, and with the two classes switching off its jammed packed, stuffy and at times chaotic). From this room, the parents can watch their kids dance. They will also have days where the parents are invited to go inside the actual dance studio to watch them up close and take photos (without the glare of the windows). We had little short parties to celebrate holidays or birthdays (*but note they cut into class time for these). We've had two instructors because I've changed my daughter's school schedule around. They keep things light, fun but also focused. If the child doesn't want to be there or is messing around, they will be asked to leave the class until they can reset and listen. I think this is great, keeps from wasting everyone else's time. At the end of the year, they do a dance recital and its really heart warming and exciting to see all the kids on stage. They're smiles say it all...and honestly, I've seen an improvement with my daughters shyness. She loves dancing and putting on performances now. The monthly fee, costumes and photos are not cheap so be prepared that the investment for the entire class can add up. read more

I love TDA! It is THE PERFECT studio for the novice dancer. My daughter started dancing here at the age of three. Miss Kristina was a gentle, soft spoken instructor whom my daughter instantly connected with because she was who she needed at the time. My daughter was a part of their competition team for three years with Miss Nicole as her instructor. Miss Nicole brought out the best in my daughter. She is an outstanding person all around and all the families simply adore her. Recital was the best part! The dancers always have theeee most eye catching, super cute costumes (that come with a heartbreakingly hefty price unfortunately). They have the best props for the chosen theme and they don't miss a thing in assuring that everything comes out perfect. The father/daughter Dance warms your heart. My husband truly misses those precious moments. POST NOTE: My daughter no longer dances here and the instructors mentioned are no longer there. My daughter has been going to TDA since she was 2.5 years old and is now 6. We go to the Milpitas location, so have had very little interaction with Rebecca. But when I have had to correspond with her, I haven't had any issue, she has been helpful by phone or through email and responds in timely manner. I will say once I was at the Fremont location and remember a parent asking the same dumb question and she kept her cool. Since we don't see her often, and there are so many dancers, I was surprised to see that she remembers my daughter's name, so that is a plus. Really this review is for Ms. Jessica. OMG I'm getting teary eyed right now because Ms. Jessica is truly wonderful and an amazing person and the owners of this company are so fortunate to have her as one of their own. Ms. Jessica is the sweetest, kindest person with the children and parents. Her love for the kids and what she does shines. She is the reason we love this academy. Her teaching style is laid back and FUN but I think that's good for the young growing dancer. The kids love her too! If I could change anything about TDA, it would be to add a location closer to me. I don't remember the last time I opened Yelp to give a review but I think it is very important that I share how unprofessional this academy is. They do everything in their power to get you enrolled in the class promising everything but once you enroll they change their words and make it so difficult to proceed. We enrolled in the Sunday class and they decided to cancel the class completely as there are not enough kids. This was not mentioned before I enrolled. Now that I paid the registration I am forced to move my class even when that time doesn't work for us if not I have to keep paying. The teacher is very sweet and good but it looks like she is absolutely forbidden to share/talk anything about the class or curriculum. Any word you ask, she immediately proceeds with she is not allowed to have a say. I am not sure how anything work if the teacher doesn't have a say in how things work. Don't send your kid here ! Waste of money ! It's a 45 min class which includes half tap and ballet . Forget getting individual attention to your kid ! Out of 45 min , few min spent for kids getting lined up and getting in and out twice as they need to come out to change their shoes . So practically I timed it, it's actually a 35-39 min class . Way too many kids in one class about 15-20 ., so your kid will not even get a good 5 min ! The teachers don't take extra effort to teach if they ar doing wrong . Kids are doing their own thing , they expect the kids to pick up . Money making dance class - that's all ! read more

Not so happy about Ms. Hollie being the teacher. She does not have experience to be an instructor for girls. She is too fast and doesn't teach a dance for the girls. I had to give one star otherwise it won't let me write this review in yelp. This review is mainly for the front desk person Rebecca. I have never met such a rude person in a long time. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. My personal experience is she didn't respond and acted as if she didn't hear me when I had a question and then she looked at me after a min and was so mean when is asked her to repeat it more than once. Really !! You are at front desk and we have no experience and idea about stage performance for Ballet. It leaves me to think of this a racist behaviour as she speaks to her set of people and no one else around. I see many people have written similar reviews and not sure how Tiffany academy has taken this to her. Really wish people are treated with some courtesy. If I could give 0 stars I would. I only signed on to yelp to post this review. Tiffany's dance is horrible, the teachers are good, but everything else is not acceptable. This was our first year doing dance and our daughter was so excited about it. However I am not, we have been signed up for the same class since we started yet somehow I get emails for another class. When told to purchase(very expensive tickets for a 1 hour recital) I was given wrong show information. I had to email them and point it out. I received an 'im sorry it was in my junk folder' a week later. We were given a time slot for pictures, my husband drove an hour round trip and stayed at the Livermore location for 45 minutes and guess what NO ONE WAS THERE! Other parents showed up but from a different class, I was probably given wrong information in the email again. I love Tiffany's. This is my second year and Rebecca is the reason I stay! Being a newbie, I have so many questions and she ALWAYS helps me. ALWAYS!!! I sit at the studio for 3 hours on Tuesday and have never experienced seeing Rebecca being racist, rude or unprofessional to anyone! I've seen her go out of her way to everyone who walks in the door. She's extremely knowledgeable and polite. Not sure what these other tellers are seeing, but I have NEVER seen her act the way they are saying. My daughter has been dancing with Tiffany's for three years. For 2.5 years Ms.Kelly has been her teacher and I absolutely love her method of teaching. We just signed up for our 4th year with Ms. Kelly and I'm excited to see my daughter move up to the next level of dancing. When I first joined Tiffany's, they had a receptionist that never spoke to a single parent. I actually considered leaving until Ms. Kelly and Rebecca were hired. They made all the difference at the Fremont location. Rebecca makes an effort to connect with parents and is always very helpful. Great for Kids, Bad for Adults For my daughter, she gets to experience being a dancer which is great! For a parent, the experience is debatable. I agree with the other 1 star that online costume manager that they use to order dance uniforms, recital costumes, and accessories are overpriced. Minus the recital costumes, you can find them elsewhere, like Target, Amazon, etc. The teachers are great but some of the staff appears apathetic if not, unhelpful. This included the recital. I have had a similar experience as described by others. Rebecca, the lady at front desk, is extremely rude. Her responses are very curt and she doesn't take a minute to answer any questions. Her behavior seems pretty racist since she seems to talk to native language speakers fine. Her attitude is very condescending to others. This is my daughter's third year at Tiffany's. In all that time, I have actually never taken the time to write a review....TIL NOW!!!. I wouldn't even give Tiffany's a star because of my recent experience....that one lonely star is for Ms Kristina who is my daughter's teacher because we thought she was really awesome. That's the only reason why this place got even one star from me. My family was new to Tiffany's. We had moved her here from another dance studio because we heard some good things about it from a friend. Registration for a class was easy and the waiting room (although can be really crowded) was more comfortable than the previous school my daughter was in. She was in a combo jazz and ballet class taught by Ms Kristina. Overall, she was great with the kids and really took charge and got these 5-7yo girls to listen and follow choreography. They have an online costume manager that they use to order dance uniforms, recital costumes, and accessories. As expected, most and almost all of the products are overpriced. Minus the recital costumes, you can find them elsewhere, like Target, Amazon, etc. This awful review for Tiffany's Dance is due to the recent events that happened this past Saturday during their Christmas Recital and how it was handled when I called the studio about my concerns. Tiffany's Dance is a chain of dance studios across the East Bay so the recitals are combined with all the other schools. Their xmas recital this year was held outside the Bankhead Theatre in Livermore. Outside!...in the cold month of December. At first I didn't think too much of it because you'd think because they'll be holding an outdoor recital in December that they would make proper accommodations to ensure their dancers are comfortable on stage. NOPE! They only had 2 heaters in front of the stage in the open area of the theatre. The temperature was in low 40s and windy. As I waited for my daughter to perform, we sat and watched many dancers, run to stage, grasping their arms in the freezing cold weather as they waited for their song to start. More than a handful of students (girls who were probably 4-6 years of age) just stood there during the performance because they were freezing cold. Lots of muttering around the audience saying, "poor babies!"..."if we're freezing cold bundled up, imagine how they feel in their tutus!" It was finally my daughter's turn to perform with her class...she had a painful look in her face as she grasped her arms as she walked on stage. In short, after the performance, she was crying and said she was cold and wanted to go home. My husband and I would have suffered through the cold watching my daughter perform. I wouldn't have made it such a big deal if my daughter came out of all of it, smiling and loving it....but NO!...it was total opposite. This event had deterred my daughter from dancing. It wasn't about us but about her and the rest of the dancers....but it was so hard to watch. All those weeks of practice and hard work, not to mention the money spent...all came down to a freezing cold dancer who never want to go back to dance class again!! After this lack of regard to their dancers, my husband and I decided to withdraw my daughter from the school. SO...when I called the dance studio today, I had the pleasure (NOT really) to talk to the studio "director". When I voiced my concerns of why I'm withdrawing my daughter from the school...she told me that participation on the recital was OPTIONAL that I knew it was going to be held outdoors. And that she wasn't part of the planning committee that put the recital together so she had no say on the recital's details. (Really??!!....what kind of "director" are you?! Take some accountability. She further went on to tell me that if I had such strong concerns to call Tiffany herself. What kind of director are you if you can't even be a strong advocate for your dancers. Another thing...I wanted to cancel my daughter's summer recital costume because I withdrew her from the school. She told me that the sale was final and that I'll need to come by the studio in the spring to pick up the costume! SERIOUSLY!!! What am I gonna do with an overpriced sparkly tutu that my daughter isn't even gonna use?!! I'm done with you, Tiffany's Dance Academy!!! This is a big example of a studio that really just cares about the business of dance. If they really cared about their dancers and their families, they would consider their customers' concerns seriously and not brush them off aside like she did. read more

Came in today for trial dance. front desk person Rebecca was pretty lazy front person. Not very friendly either. Just bossed me around. To think that we are trying the class, didn't even bother to get up and introduce us inside or at least accommodate us but instead she said, you can go inside. Never had experience before like that. From the start never had good experience with Tiffany Dance. From contacting them and getting someone to talk to. Not worthed. Rather go somewhere little miles away from home if you are getting good service. Advice for Rebecca, maybe you should get up and be the customer service you signed up for. read more

This is my daughter's 5th year at TDA and second in Hip Hop crew. Every year at the Nutcracker and Big Show, my husband says "we pay for THIS"?!? The first couple of years - I ignored him because I thought they were little. Now, after 2 years of competition, I agree. There are auditions for Crew, but I'm sorry - not everyone that auditions deserves a spot. There are also several times where teachers aren't available or class times are changed without notice. It highlighted how bad they were at the Starbound competition where I was actually embarrassed for the girls. My daughter and 2-3 other girls are the only ones that are worthy of competing. I feel like Jayla, Marissa, and one other girl are being forced to dumb down their abilities to make it a challenge for the rest of the class. This is definitely our last season - as my daughter will be looking to hone in techniques to compete and BE competitive. To be honest, there's a higher ROI to have 4 girls represent the school and win some competitions, driving in marketing, than to have one large discombobulated group. read more

My 5 year old daughter dances here. She just finished her first "Twinkle Stars" class, which is ballet and tap. She loved it! She got to do 2 super cute dances during the year (which runs July-June). One performance was in December and another, better one, in June. Her instructor, Veronica, was awesome and so good at keeping the class of 4 and 5 year olds focused. I've loved the 45 minutes each week spent watching her learn and grow as a dancer. The recital was well managed and super cute. I also really like Erika, the new studio director. Class fees are very reasonable, but costumes are overpriced. I guess that's to be expected, though. I wish there was a way to trade costumes in, or recycle them somehow as it seems wasteful to use it only once. We're all signed up for next year. To start with the teacher is nice and students are enjoying the dance just for fun only. However we have to leave this place because of the front desk Rebecca. Those one star reviews are so true about her. She only smiles/talks to her own race people or native-speaking people. To all the international population group, she is beyond RUDE! Imagine this happens in Fremont, bay area. She YELLED at me and my dad for looking through the window because we want to see my daughter dancing inside. The blinds are always tilted and you can't see anything unless you stand by the window. I saw one Indian Mom asked her if she could help adjust the blind. She was like: It is supposed to be this way. It almost sounds like how dare you to ask me to do anything! Besides, it takes a MONTH for the dance wear to arrive from the Livermore warehouse with shipping and all those service fees charged! It all boils down to one person: REBECA, who ruins this company's otherwise good reputation. She can be extremely rude to both students (yes, I'm talking about little children) and parents. She's highly moody and acts unprofessionally often times. I've observed pure racism and discrimination on her part. Though she seems to be nice to native speaking parents, her attitude is totally different for non-native speaking parents. In this day and age, such obvious level of racism is hard to believe, but it happens every day at Tiffany's Fremont. If Tiffany's doesn't get their act together, it may even be a legal issue for them. And the worst part: my daughter said Rebeca once yelled at her! Go figure. I don't think her racist and discriminatory behavior can be "corrected" by talking to her. If she hasn't learned how to be a professional in an international environment by now, it will never happen. we went there for try out. we decided to not to go there because of the front desk. people ignores her so she doesn't know what she is doing. why we decide not to go? because my child won't learn anyting valueable from here. I am sending my kids to learn a ballet, not a bad speaking manner from her. Even front desk treating kids rudely then what would they learn from here?
