Dominion Center 665 8 Street Southwest managed by Bold Property Management & Alston Properties
This has been one of the most disappointing rental experiences I have ever had. From the beginning, management has shown a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and concern for tenant safety.
One of the biggest issues has been the conduct of the property manager, Ernie Leung. On multiple occasions, he has been confrontational, intimidating, and has yelled at tenants instead of addressing legitimate concerns. Rather than helping residents, management seems quick to label anyone who raises issues as a "difficult tenant."
Safety concerns have been repeatedly brought to management's attention with little to no meaningful action. There have been numerous incidents involving individuals appearing to be under the influence and experiencing severe behavioral disturbances in and around the building. Residents have raised concerns about these incidents because they affect the safety and well-being of everyone living here, yet management's response has been inadequate. Even more concerning, instead of hiring trained professional security personnel, the building often appears to rely on non-security staff to monitor the property.
The maintenance issues are equally unacceptable. Our window was damaged and developed a massive crack. We immediately reported it to both Aiman Alizada and Ernie Leung, but the seriousness of the issue did not seem to be taken seriously. We were left living with the damaged window for an extended period. When the repair contractors finally arrived, they appeared surprised by the extent of the damage and indicated they had not been fully informed about the condition of the window beforehand.
In addition, every time it rains, water leaks through our windows. This problem has been reported multiple times, yet nothing has changed. Living with recurring water intrusion while paying premium rent is unacceptable.
There are also ongoing concerns about building standards and enforcement of policies. Rules appear to be applied inconsistently, disruptive behavior often goes unchecked, and residents who raise concerns are ignored rather than supported.
What is most frustrating is that these concerns were escalated beyond on-site management. We reached out directly to ownership Brent Alston and Alston Properties in hopes that someone would take responsibility and address these serious issues. Unfortunately, we saw no meaningful improvement.
For the amount of rent being charged, tenants should expect a safe, professionally managed building where concerns are addressed promptly and respectfully. Instead, we experienced poor communication, unresolved maintenance problems, safety concerns, and management that appeared unwilling to take accountability. We have attached photos documenting some of these issues so prospective tenants can judge the conditions for themselves. read more
