Great Brewery, love the variety and skill involved in all the offerings. The beer hear is top notch, hands down one of the best on the city.

Ok beer. Poor service. I went on a Thursday night at 6pm. It was clear to me that if you're not a local, they could care less about you. I love going to new places and checking out the local beer scene. Not here. I will never be back to Jacksonville. It was almost as if I was an impediment to their vibe than a paying customer.

Very clean and cool establishment. I'm not a beer drinker but very much enjoyed the ambiance and vibe.

Forrest time at this location. Bold City was possibly our introduction to local craft beer in Jax. We used to go to the original location which is a warehouse space. This downtown location is much more spacious inside. Decent amount of bar space, some high tops, plus love seats. They have their own brew plus some other and wine offerings. There was some music playing and they have TVs with sports on. I will certainly go back. Part of the bar looks pretty cool with old newspaper vending machines as the base. No food other than what seemed to be small expensive bags of favored popcorn. I didn't have any so not sure if they are good or not, but $5.50 per bag seemed expensive to me.

Stopped in Jacksonville to take a break from a road trip and was thrilled to land a seat at Bold City Downtown. John the bartender was very gracious and friendly. I had the Mad Manatee IPA and wish I stayed longer to sample the other varieties. If I'm ever passing through the area again I would return. Recommend others to do the same.

This was the second stop in a Jax brewery crawl my girlfriend and another couple undertook on a Sunday afternoon. Situated downtown on main street, the vibe is certainly more brewery than taproom. Metal bar stools sit around taps with large mash tons against one of the walls. We got a few flights, between them tasting all of the beers they offered. My tastes run toward wheat beers and sours, and the Crimson American was my favorite. Light body, crisp, refreshing, easy to drink. The nitro red ale was also unique, especially as they offered it as a non-nitro option to compare the two. The bartender was friendly and talkative. There are board games and comfy chairs for groups of people. They also sell interestingly flavored popcorn. Doing a crawl? Definitely stop here.

So why do I love Yelping so much? Amazing how Yelp gets you out to those places "you've been meaning to visit" and then you are so glad that you actually do finally! Bold City Downtown is certainly in this category of "man I'm so glad I finally visited" places! Great factoid: many of the Jax craft breweries downtown area are closed on Mondays to include the Bold City Brewery. Wanting to make "progress" on my JAX Ale Trail Brewery Passport, I was so glad that I called the Bold City Brewery on a Monday and the very nice lady who answered (oh I bet it was Susan) confirmed that the Brewery was closed but I could trek to Bold City Downtown and get my passport stamped on Monday...which I gladly did! So for an early Monday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised to find street parking less than 1/2 block away and also very cool that Bold City Downtown shares the same building as Cowford Chop House! As I walked up to BC Downtown, I was so surprised to see "Big John" sweeping the outdoor entrance area. We worked at the same company for 15 years and about 8 or so years ago, he retired from corporate America and partnered up to launch the ultra-successful Bold City Brewery! So as luck would have it, I again was the solo customer at the bar with Big John and loved catching up on old times as well as the success of Bold City Brewery! I've always loved the Mad Manatee IPA and of course, my first fav Dukes Brown Ale. There's a new fav to add to the Bold City Trifecta and it's Big John's Apricot Wheat Ale! Supremely tasty and soon will be in your grocery shelves (Publix, etc.)- it's a seasonal with Big Johns photo on the can and it's a 4.5% ABV Apricot Wheat Ale that was created by the family as a surprise for Fathers Day just a few years ago. Add me as a fan of this popular Bold City selection and I can see (and taste) why the Big John Apricot Wheat Ale is always requested around town! Bold City Downtown is the perfect 5 Star PLUS downtown bar - great craft beers, cozy atmosphere, and very friendly bar folk and staff! I highly recommend that you check out the taps at this favorite taproom and while you're at it, grab a crowler at this Downtown location (you can grab a growler at the brewery)! Tell Big John hello from Ariel!

This place is really cool... was greeted by the bartender of the day who was very informative on their processes and products. I always enjoyed the Mad Manatee whenever I was able to get some. This day I was introduced to the Bad Hombre which weighed in at a beautiful 14%.... I had 2 and I was on tilt. I was also happy to learn that they refill growlers.. they don't have any of their own but you can bring in others , even if they're from other establishments. Over all the experience was nice and I will be back!

What a fun spot! Went here on a Saturday afternoon, got a nitro red ale and some truffle Parmesan popcorn. A good amount & variety of beers on tap, & a few snack options too. Prices are better than some of the other places I've checked out in this area. On top of that, the bartender was very nice.

I wandered over to Bold City Downtown from my hotel (Hyatt). It was only a block away. The atmosphere is what I like... low key. The bartender was friendly. I had the Prismatic Rust (sour), Avant Gardener (saison), Mad Manatee (IPA), Kilt'em (wee heavy), and the Smoky Porter. The flights were $5 for 4. The beers were ok. The Kilt'em was very good. The Avant Gardener was a fundraiser for a local museum. I enjoyed Bold City, but I found better breweries while poking around Jacksonville.

Trying their brand new G&D Oatmeal Stout on Nitro.

"Dog friendly" means they allow dogs to sit outside. There is no shade, but they did offer a dog bowl for water.

My friend ordered us the Pork Belly Kimchi Fries, I got us an order of the Cheese Curds, and for my entree I got an order of the Asian Sticky Wings. I probably would have never ordered the kimchi fries on my own. Sometimes kimchi can be fickle and really hit or miss. It was definitely a hit here. More on the sweet and tangy side but worked really well. Fries seasoned perfectly, and the pork belly cubed and cooked to perfection. Out of all of the times I've been to Wicked Barley, these fries have to be one of the best items I've had from there. Cheese curds were pretty basic. Tasted great, but nothing to write home about. If you like Cheese curds, you'll enjoy theirs. I originally had my eye on the jerk chicken wings and I was warned by the waitress and my friend that they are REALLY hot. Jerk chicken is generally one of those thats right on the borderline of too hot for me. To give you an idea, if you're familiar with Butthutt BBQ's jerk chicken, theirs is as far as I can go for spice level. So I switched it up to be safe, and I am glad I did. Sweet and sticky, these had really great flavor inside and out. Would definitely get these again in the future. Brought a couple home to the hubby and he seemed to enjoy them too, and he normally doesn't like, what he refers to as, "sweet meat". I had three different beers in my favorite tasting style, sour. I had the PB&J sour, the mango sour, and the orange cream sour. The orange cream was my favorite of the 3. We enjoyed the sounds of the band Splittone in the background and enjoyed the whole vibe of our meal. I'm hoping to visit again on a future weekend and possibly bringing one of my pups along with me since they are dog friendly.

Tepey's started its roots as a small food truck during the Covid-19 pandemic while Luis and team worked on building out the brewery. Unfortunately, I'm not in the area that much, and only once did I make the journey just to come here. What is the draw, you may ask? Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great vibes! , That said, every meal I have had here has been delicious. The beer is pretty darn good & cold too! Of course, with the long drive...ya gotta limit it. But it's worth it for anything on the menu. I don't know where to start food-wise, I am trying to eat my way around the menu. The gator tail and fish dip are two of my favorites for small bites/appetizers. The Elk burger, the Taphouse burger, and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich are always amazing....and then there's the cole slaw...yummy! Delicious food, and they have more than just sandwiches. The menu offers a little something different. The atmosphere and vibe are always inviting, and the staff is super friendly. The prices are fair, portions are ample, and there is plenty of parking. The decor is fun too! Not to mention, they give a veteran discount with proof of ID. What more can you ask for? Well, I know what I can ask for! To the owners: pretty please, with sugar on top, consider opening a location in St. Augustine. Not in the downtown area, but the folks north of town need something; they need you! Around the Palencia & Kensington area, off US 1 to be exact...or anywhere nearby in that area. The folks there would love something they can walk to, ride bikes to, maybe even use a golf cart to get to...and yes, a short drive is good too. Jus' sayin'! When having my boyfriend and his momma pick me up after a work trip to have a weekend to visit…read morethem, they suggested this location for lunch before we made the drive back to Eustis where she lives. They had mentioned seeing some good Yelp reviews, and the menu looked intriguing. I had already had breakfast at a great locally owned place, so my appetite was smaller. What We Ordered: - Oyster Po Boy: my boyfriend and his momma split this, and they both said it was okay though they HATED the gumbo. Very unfortunate as when splitting they had to pay for an additional portion of it. - Blackened Mahi Sandwich: this was recommended by our waitress who started out fantastic, but ultimately disappeared after food delivered so I went without a drink for quite some time. I did eat enough a portion of mine before running out of coke, so I had to pause eating as I need a liquid as I eat. I had split this with my boyfriend, so he enjoyed his fully warm. Mine was good for those first few bites, and really enjoyed the fries. They remind me of the filmstrip fries you can get in Disney's California Adventure. - Coke + Lime: if the machine is calibrated, this is always a win for me! It definitely made a travel day better. Sadly, between the waitress being inattentive after the food was delivered and there being quite the unsavory show being played, this was a miss for me. Who plays Steve Wilkos in a restaurant? It's the modern day Jerry Springer show. I just find that baffling to be quite honest, though we did get a chuckle at it while I waiting desperately for a refill so I could eat the remaining portion of my meal.
