This place been very slow and bad with service for years and needs new management asap!

,I've come to this location a couple times when I visit my Hometown. But this particular time the food was not as good. My biscuit and the paltry, Cajun chicken cutlet were almost room temperature. The fries were outstanding as was the iced tea. The staff here is super friendly so that makes up a lot for it. I snagged a chicken drumstick for later, and that was pretty tasty as a late night snack. I hope they get back to where they used to be, fresh, hot and tasty. read more

This was my first and will be my last visit to bojangles. The food was about average, but the service was below average and the place was dirty. They were out of plates so we ate out of the box. There were no sporks or napkins out and when I went to the counter to ask for some, I was handed one spork and had to ask again for another one I was met with a dirty look and no response to my thank you. He walked away without getting any napkins so I went to the bathroom and got paper towels like everyone else was doing. Customers behind me were waiting five to ten minutes to get their orders. Four stars for the food and zero for service. Average of two. read more

Bojangles at Laburnum and Nine Mile Rd in Henrico...Don't forget about your paying customers! I just placed an order at the drive-through and was told there would be a 15 minute wait on the particular chicken that I ordered. I was asked to pull forward after paying. The wait was longer than 15 minutes. We went in to see what was taking so long and to get our order ourselves. The manager informed us that we would have to wait another 20 minutes because the chicken had already sold out again. What!! We paid first and already been waiting, why did folks coming behind us get theirs and we were kept waiting and forgotten about and now we're being told oh sorry but you'll have to wait 20 more minutes because it sold out again. I'm so P.O'ed right now! Just got home with this $#*% and it's beyond awful! It had an inch of breading that was beyond hard! I pulled that off and the thigh and leg looked like they came off of a f'ing quail or pigeon! The fries had NO seasoning and the half tea half lemonade tasted horrible! Is It really hard to make an unsweetened tea? It is impossible for this Bojangles and any of them really to give you an unsweetened tea. Horrible. Service every time. Funny I asked on night months ago and the manager said staff is too lazy to make it. At least you are consistently inconsistent. Ghettojangles!! I ordered a fish sandwich. ate 1/2 of it while driving and took it back to get what I ordered and the manager screamed "He ate 1/2 the sandwich!" We lose because we choose to be trifling. If you eat here (which I never will again) you will be disappointed. I love me some Bo! That slightly spicy fried chicken with the crunchy coating...mmm... it's on time with BoTime. But jeez, can you move it along??? This location is soooo slow. It took almost 20 minutes for us to get our food... our order??? Just a two-piece which came with one side and a tea, and 2 extra sides. That's it. And the wait was agonizing. Not exactly "fast food". The tea, which I usually love, was terrible. I dumped it. Not sure what they did, but it certainly didn't taste like tea. The chicken is always tasty, but the drive thru needs better management. While waiting in line, several cars "chickened out" and just peaced out, whipped out of line and left. I was really in the mood for a Country Ham Biscuit, so I stopped in Boj about noon. There were a handful of cars in the drive-thru; I parked and walked inside. No line at all. I stepped up to the counter and waited. And waited. There was a woman on the other side of the counter doing a food prep job. She was less than three feet from the POS terminal, and made no move to help me or acknowledge my presence. Perhaps she was not qualified on POS equipment. But she could have called someone else to the POS terminal. It didn't happen. After about 60 seconds, I left. I'll soon be returning to Boj in Quinton to get my Country Ham Biscuit fix. But this store on Laburnum has lost me for a while. read more

So let me start by saying Bojangles is by far the best chicken fast food around here. Now, they have discontinued the large Supreme only box (no sides, biscuits etc) which is a bit bothersome because we love to use them on homemade salads. The bigger issue is the discontinuation of their bo sauce. That is like chikfila discontinuing chikfila sauce or zaxbys discontinuing zax sauce. This is my first time stepping inside any Bojangles and I don't know where to begin... First off, I was the only person in line and after placing my order, it took around 15 minutes or so to receive my food. The service here is really slow and the staff seem really unprofessional. While I was up front by the register waitinf for my food, the staff in the front were shouting to another employee in the back about someone's brother calling in sick to get a tattoo or something. The world doesn't need to know someone else's business. When I finally got my food (I ordered the 4 piece boneless chicken supreme with seasoned fries, biscuit and a sweet tea), I was disappointed. My chicken was dry and not juicy as claimed. Maybe the chicken was overcooked, not sure. The seasoned fries weren't even seasoned at all. Sweet tea was decent, I've had better sweet tea at other places. The best part of this meal was the biscuit, which wasn't anything special. It reminded me of Popeyes version of their biscuit. I most likely won't be coming back. Not to this location anyways. There's other places similar to this establishment that are way better in my opinion. read more

This is the worst Bojangles location if you're located in the east end area. Ordered a Cajun filet club combo sandwich. When I got to the window I asked for one sauce as I usually do at any other Bojangles locations and they refused to give me one sauce packet and said I needed to pay .50 cents for it and that the honey mustard only comes with the chicken tenders meal. Typically when you order a combo meal you get at least one complimentary sauce at minimum anywhere else. But not here. I always have this issue at this specific location where I have to go back and fourth with the cashier about ONE sauce and why I shouldn't have to pay for it when it should be complimentary to my meal. Since when did Bojangles become so stingy over sauces, that are just going to go bad anyways! Go to a different location and save yourself the hassle and poor customer service or better yet don't go here at all! read more

This place needs serious organization improvement during lunchtime. Everyone is frustrated and totally confused. The other day I ordered a 8 piece box, the lady put my chicken in a box, but it was behind other orders. Instead of thinking to just put the tea with it and hand it to me, she just sat the box behind the other orders which we're waiting for stuff that wasn't ready. She paced back and forth from the line to food racks seemingly panicking. Eventually I just said can you please give me the box and don't worry about the tea. This was the worst experience of my life as far as drive thru our order was taken at 7:33pm and we didn't get our food until 7:57pm I honestly don't understand what the problem was! Dang, this place is good!! I was early for my flight, so when the roadway sign indicated a Bojangles nearby, I decided to swing by on my way to the airport. I had the three piece wing dinner with dirty rice. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried and the dirty rice was a dynamite savory side. Can't tell if this place is recently opened or recently RE-opened, though it has all the makings of a new location: beautiful interior, ample parking, and new employees still learning the ropes. Let me tell you why the newness of this location does it no favors. I have been a Bojangles' fanatic for several years now (especially the ones in MD, since they have mac and cheese as a side option while VA locations don't). That said, I'm willing to put up with a lot to feed my addiction to this place. Anyway, came here with coupons in hand and my lady friend. While I already had some mixed experiences here before, this one sunk the battleship. We waited several minutes for someone to even wander over to the counter to take our order while various personal conversations raged on loudly in the background. After being asked to repeat my order several times, the cashier finally managed to ring it in and we moved down to the pickup area. Minutes pass, many of them. Orders are haphazardly thrown together, some customers left quickly while others lingered on, waiting for their orders to be completed, my lady friend and I being two of them. Eventually it became clear that they'd lost our ticket and had no idea how to fix both our order and those piling up behind us. Thanks to a single employee who managed to get our order together and give us a few free sausage biscuits to apologize for the mistakes, we finally were able to sit and enjoy our food, though everyone else there did absolutely nothing to solve the problem. I think this is a good time to mention the purpose of a manager: managers ensure that all the employees and elements of a business are performing their functions well, and always make themselves available to fix problems which arise or help workers who may be struggling in an area. This location's manager (whose name I did not catch, sadly) did nothing, and looked just as helpless as all the other employees there. If I had been a corporate executive for Bojangles' and witnessed this, he would have been fired on the spot, replaced with someone who actually managed, and any employee having personal conversations in view/earshot of guests would have been canned as well. This is a business, not a cafeteria, keep that nonsense to yourself. If they fired everyone there, doubled the wages, and rehired half as many workers (but GOOD workers), this location would be a stellar dining establishment. I would not return here, since the location on Staples Mill Road is far superior to this one in every way. It's a shame that despite the large amount of literature on running a business, many owners opt to not even pick up a single book on the subject. Overall: 2.0 stars -------------- Pros: - AMAZING food, pretty affordable too. - Interior is attractive. - Lots of easy parking. The downside to this location is the wait, if you are going through the drive thru expect a wait no matter what time you go, it's a bit ridiculous actually. I don't eat fast food often but I'm a big fan of Bojangles breakfast. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese meal with sweet tea. The biscuit was soft and buttery. A Bojangles biscuit is how a biscuit should be made at a restaurant. The sausage, egg, and cheese blended perfect with the biscuit. Bojangles potato rounds are bigger than most fast food restaurants. Bojangles sweet tea hit the spot. Occasionally, I'll stop by for fried chicken. I really like Bojangles fried chicken because it's crispy and juicy in the inside. On Sundays, the drive thru line is usually very busy during the morning hours. Breakfast is served all day at Bojangles. It's not many Bojangles restaurants in the Richmond area. It's still a toss up for me whether or not Bojangles' chicken and biscuits are better than Popeyes, but this place has fries that are like crack! The iced tea is usually pretty good too. Sometimes it tastes like not enough sugar was added ...or someone failed to give the mix a good stir. This place is almost always busy...especially during lunch, in the evenings, and Sundays after church. Still waiting for a location in the South Side because this is out of the way for me...unless I'm leaving or headed to church. Hey - it's Bojangles, so you have to put this in the context of a fast food fried chicken joint. I've actually eaten here several times but never bothered to write a review. The chicken is yummy and a little spicy (not as hot as Popeye's spicy but with definitely more "zing" to it than KFC). I happen to love fried chicken and this is my go-to joint when I land at Richmond airport since it's nearby and on the way to the hotel where I usually stay when I'm here on business.
