What is going on with Bojangles in general? Petersburg & now Hopewell. I put the one in Petersburg in "time out" for their on again/off again drive-thru shenanigans and then yesterday I went to the one in Hopewell only to have the WORST customer service I have ever had--the worst. I went through the drive-through as always had to repeat my order three times at the kiosk, sat in line went to the window had to repeat it three more times it was still wrong when she handed it to me and she got belligerent both at the kiosk and at the window because she decided I was gonna have a diet Pepsi even telling me that the diet Mountain Dew Was out of order so I had to take the diet Pepsi. Oh no, I did not and did not. That clerk --and her back up band (nodding their heads and snatching my bag back and forth only to finally add the missing breakfast sandwich only to shove through the window and tell me--"I told you it's already in there!" When I just watched one of you go back to the kitchen pass through and add it to the bag!!! I eat at Bojangles 3 to 5 times per week and both are several minutes from my house--no more. I used to eat here a lot when I lived in North Carolina. This time I returned to settle a discussion on whose biscuit was better; Popeye's or Bojangles. By far Bojangles has the better biscuit and the chickens not too bad. The sweet coleslaw was on point and the mashed potatoes were the typical powdered version with Brown gravy. Keep in mind it is fast food so nothing special. I do think Popeye's chicken is much better especially the way the batter crunches after fried. Plus popeye's are known for their sides; Red beans and rice all day long and even though the potatoes are powdered the gravy is next level. Side note Bojangles does make a really good Arnold Palmer (tea/lemonade). read more

Bojangles is as Bojangles does. Had a spicy chicken sandwich and a sweet tea. You can't really go wrong with these two items...Service was fast and pleasant. After going through the drive thru (since I had my dog with me) I did have to run inside to use the bathroom (did I mention I got the large sweet tea?!) and the floor was that greasy slick feeling that I'm sure some less abled bodied people might slip on. I was really sad about the meal I got from this place tonight. I love Bojangles. I live close and they have the best hangover food. I ordered a chicken sandwich combo and a three piece meal for my friend. I asked for a sandwich and got a biscuit, which is fine because I like them both, but it tasted nuked. All I know is...typically when you order an 8 piece chicken box you get of each piece. Recently I went through the drive through and ended up with 4 legs and 4 wings in my 8 piece box. That can't be normal. And the legs were really small. I wish I had taken a picture. Anyway, I was just disappointed for not getting the correct pieces. We had to stop at Bojangles in Hopewell, VA on our way to Richmond to fly home inn Utah. I had been looking forward to getting my Boberrys and introducing them to my husband. I wasn't disappointed and he loved them too! We actually ordered the cinnamon twists and the sweet potato pie as well to give equal opportunity to all the desserts. They were good but the Boberrys win hands down! Oh! We also had the smoked sausage, egg and cheese biscuits which were most awesome and the tots were surprisingly delicious!! What a treat and a great send off from Virginia! (I stowed 1/2 dozen Boberrys in my carry-on to take to my son-in-law in Vegas. I stopped this location (drive-thru) 11/24 while traveling for the holidays. I should preference this by saying, this is the location I always stopped between Maryland and North Carolina for business as well as leisure. Once we opened our food, everything was as it had been prepared and leftover from the previous day. My sister got a cheese biscuit and the cheese was so hard and cold, she tossed it. I got the chicken biscuit and honestly I believe the chicken had just been removed from the refrigerator so I tossed that as well. The only thing salvageable were the fries and my Pepsi. I immediately called the number on the bottom of the receipt and file a complaint. I still have not heard a word from anybody. I decided to stopped on my way back to file a complaint with the management onsite. Boy, was that a mistake. I stopped by on 11/26 (Saturday) around 10:15 am and the manager was so nasty and disrespectful that I am making sure to tell everyone I know about this place. She acted as if I was trying to get something for free even though I presented her with the receipt. She looks at me and said, "so, what do you want'? "Well, I will replace the cheese biscuit and the chicken biscuit and that's it." She then laid the receipt down on the countertop and walked away. No apology, no nothing. She was so nasty that the gentleman behind me in line, apologized to me as well as the young cashier said, "I am sorry, ma'am." I told her it wasn't her fault. I ordered something and walked down to pick it up, only to find that she had put the two biscuits in a bag and placed the bag at the end of the counter. She still didn't say any more to me, she looked at one of the employees and said, "did you give her, her biscuits"? I am a mature businesswoman and in all of my years in conducting business or commerce, I have never be so disrespected. This manager needs more "white Glove" customer service training. At this point it is more about her lack of customer service and her nasty attitude than the little money I lost on a bad meal. Came out to Virginia to visit some family from Ohio. Saw Bonangles on a sign coming in. Asked my brother what he thought and he said order!! So I tried and their online ordering wasn't on. I called this location to see if they'd take an order as we were ordering a big family sized dinner amount of food. The lady on the phone sounded uninterested in what I had to say. I asked her if I could place an order for pick up over the phone as it was a large order. All she would tell me was that if they have it they'll do it. I asked if they "had it" and she asked me how many pieces. Told her 20PC 8 CHICKEN & 12 CHICKEN SUPREMES MEAL, she said again, "if we have it we'll pull it" I asked her again if she had enough to do the meal, she told me she couldn't do it unless we gave her 3-5 hours notice. If I could give this a -10 star I would. We arrived around 8:30pm and their speaker was very quiet. As my family ordered the guy taking our order just couldn't seem to get it. So thinking the speaker was broken we raised our voices in order to be heard. Well we stop here to pick up some chicken as we were running around town all day. My wife doesn't really care for the chicken here, but my granddaughter and myself love it. So we walk in and placed a order for 12 pieces of chicken. They hooked us up in no time, and we were on the road to the house. It didn't take long for us to work that chicken over even my wife had a piece. After we were done I think there was about 3 pieces left. This is about the best Bojangles I've been to but I will have to say they weren't busy when we arrived either. But the food was outstanding for fast food and my order was correct too. While I'm a big fan of Bojangles this isn't my favorite location. The service was Bo-Berry good. Meanwhile, this isn't a modern location although they do have two flat screen TVs. It's not in the greatest neighborhood, but serves a purpose in this area. You'll likely find a few parties of retired folks hanging out grabbing a bite. You'll find the same stuff on the menu here as with all Bojangles. There's not much to say about this location, unfortunately. read more

Bojangle's is, hands down, the worst fast food establishment I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. Let's start with the food. Bojangle's claims to be "famous" for its chicken and biscuits. Um...I think not. The chicken was rubbery, slimy, and over-spiced (probably to hide its awful flavor). The beans were liquid-y and tasteless. The fries were soggy and cold. The biscuits were the one bright spot in what was an otherwise dismal food experience, but for the love of God, stay away from the cheese biscuits. Apparently, "cheese biscuit," to the Bojangle's staff, consists of slapping a thick piece of curdled cheese between a stale halved biscuit. I lost my appetite just by looking at it. On to the customer service. The employees behind the counter were too busy yelling at each other to initially take our order. Once we were lucky enough to order our food, the woman behind the counter was cursory and rude. She would yell out each item to the rest of the staff as I was in the process of ordering it - in the process, cutting me off mid-sentence. Stay away from Bojangle's!! read more

I really like Bojangles. I had the steak biscuit. It was pretty darn good. My one complaint is that the woman who took my order seemed to lazy to speak. Took 15 mins to get one combo and was told waiting on fries we hitch were cold when I got them

I usually come to Yelp to write praiseworthy reviews. Unfortunately, this is one case of the opposite. This Bojangles did *everything* wrong. I entered the drive-thru at 2:10 p.m. on a weekday ... not lunch hour by any stretch of the imagination. I chose the "3-Piece Dinner: Leg and 2 Thighs" and a large Diet Mountain Dew. Swinging around the corner of the building, I found three cars waiting at the window. I am not exaggerating when I say that it took nearly 15 minutes for those three cars to be served. (Note the other reviews here complaining about the wait time at this restaurant: dine-in or drive-thru; it doesn't seem to make a difference.) When I arrived at the window, the 20-something male cashier held his arm out for my cash ... no greeting, no nothing. He took the cash, made my change and thrust it out the window; again, no words of any kind. Then I waited. And waited. And waited some more. Finally out came my drink, again with no verbal acknowledgement, then my food. As the window closed I yelled a terse "Thank you!" at him, upon which he finally proved he was not mute, reopened the window and said, "Oh, thank you" as if he was doing me a favor. From arriving at the drive-thru to leaving with my order took about 20 minutes. It was a hot day so I drove a few blocks to a shady parking lot and opened my meal. There to greet me were not a leg and two thighs, but a leg, a wing and a breast. Uh, OK, whatever. I looked on my receipt and sure enough, I had paid for what I asked for. (I don't think there was any difference in price for what I received, but why do they bother specifying what you're going to receive on the menu board when you're just going to get whatever they throw in the box?) But my receipt showed something else: I'd been charged extra for "upsizing" my drink. I had not asked to "biggie size" my order, but I guess they decided I needed the upsized drink because it was a hot day. How nice of them to reach into my pocket without asking or telling me. I wonder how much extra they make each day from doing that to everyone who orders a large soda. By now I had spent too much of my time at their store and I was now several blocks away, and I didn't want to encounter even more hassle ... so I decided to eat the upsize fee and the chicken I didn't order. Then I found that my chicken was only lukewarm and I had to wrestle every bite of the dried-out breast down with gulps of my drink. Hey Bojangles, I'm on a fixed income and I'm not rolling in money. I decided to forego the McDonald's Dollar Menu and get some decent food today, at a total cost with tax of $9.09 ... that's quite a bit more than what I could've paid at some burger joint. The (wrong) product and the (absence of) service I received will make me think long and hard before sacrificing my scant money and my time at your establishment in the future. Shame, because your chicken has always been a favorite of mine. it's just not worth the hassle to wait forever to get it and then get it wrong, cold and overcharged ... and ignored. read more

Here on business. I hadn't had Bojangles in 10 years or so. I live in Seattle, WA and we don't have Bojangles. I was so excited to finally get some because I've loved it for forever. As I ordered my food, I noticed how dry the chicken looked as if it had been sitting there for hours. Why, I don't know, but I ordered the spicy chicken strips. The strips looked like four little Bit o chicken candies laying side by side. Girl got my drink wrong, and showed her on the ticket which she failed to read. Finally got all my food cause she was not in a hurry at all yelling to the back for fries. She got the fries and the scoop was too hot for her to load the fry holder so she waited while I waited for my food. Anyway, I finally got my food and bit into the strip. So hard! I took them back. I explained to the manager I couldn't eat them because they were not edible. She was very accommodating and said it would be four minutes for new ones. I ate my fries and waited. She brought some more out explaining that these should be much softer. Sure enough, they were. I bit into one and it was raw! Of course I took them back! I ended up eating the new ones she brought out. I felt so stupid but I wanted Bojangles! The whole time the manager is talking about how she should fire her employees in front of the customers. The cars behind me had to wait for their food as well. And they were served before I was. Someone who worked there came out and told me they forgot to put my food in. I was so furious.
