Went here for lunch. Ordered a two piece meal with dirty rice and Cajun beans. After ordering and paying, was informed all they had was white meat. I told her I'd be willing to wait for them to cook some dark meat. She said her manager told her it would take 12 minutes. Anyway, 30 minutes later, I went up to the register...where no one was working...and, after waiting there for another 8 minutes, had a lady yell to me that she was sorry and that someone would be with me shortly. Drive thru takes at least 30 minutes without fail, even if only a few cars in line. My food was hot and delicious once I received it. I would love to know who owns this franchise, they must be out of town and totally oblivious. This location weakens the brand and its well known in the community that this location is poorly managed - I feel for the employees. I've only used my card twice today before I got flagged by my card issuer. The last time I handed my card was to a bartender at Red Palm and the bartender is my friend The other time was this exact Bojangles They took a while to get my card payment but I didn't think that was an issue until my card got flagged. This place is just the worst. They plaster a print out saying they're severely understaffed on their lobby door so no one bothers them, then they can ignore the drive thru and text in peace. Multiple times I've sat there saying 'Hello?' in the intercom like an idiot to complete silence, then driven around to see their useless employees yucking it up in the food area. The Dunkin' Donuts next door is rough too but at least their employees tell you it's gonna be a while when you pull up. These employees are straight up stealing from the ownership with how little they work. Pay a decent wage and you'll attract better employees than the bozos that work here now and you won't lose countless orders in the drive thru. There is an automated order taker for the drive thru and when we drove around to the window to pay, we still had to tell the lady our order. There was also a bit of a wait in the line. There was only us and one other car though. The food was a sad case of old unseasoned fries. They had to know these fries weren't good and should have been thrown away! A bojangles craving hit, so we came here. Terrible idea, first off. This location is just awful! We parked so we could come inside and eat, but all the doors were locked. There was no sign explaining why the dining room was locked either. We tried both doors & nope, just locked. So, I don't know why they would even bother to have a sign on their window that says "COME ON IN! We've missed y'all" when they lock the doors so you don't go in. We get in line for the drive thru and it took 15 mins to get to the drive thru intercom, even though we're were like 4th in line. As soon as we began to place our order for two cajun filet biscuits with cheese, the woman in the intercom was very rude and tried to correct us on how to order combos. My husband said he would have a sweet tea and a Sierra Mist. The woman said they RAN OUT of Sierra Mist. Um ok...Then we ordered a bo berry biscuit but was told they RAN OUT of bo berry biscuits. Um ok... so he said we will take a side of Mac and cheese (since it was 12pm, lunch hour) and was told they DON'T HAVE Mac and cheese either!!! So, basically it was too late for bo berry biscuits and too early for Mac and cheese. We finally made our way to the drive thru window to pay and get our food and the nicest man took our payment while he checked our bag and confirmed our order with us before he gave us our bag. He apologized multiple times for the wait and turned the whole experience into a much better one. If it wasn't for him, I would have given this place one star. I first started going to Bojangles in the early 1980s when I was in Columbia going to law school. My roommates suggested going there for their steak biscuits which I must admit we went to a fair amount. Then of course my enjoying fried chicken drew me back to Bojangles, yet again. Here the food was the usual goodness at this particular location on Folly Road. Not, however, a very friendly server at the drive up window. I unfortunately said "red rice" as a side for my chicken dinner and I was bluntly told that they did not have red rice. This was without them telling me what I eventually said which was "dirty rice". There were 10 dirty tables, a huge puddle of what appears to be ice tea in the middle of the dining room flour type mixture all over the door going out. The chicken breast had no crust because it was put in the deep fryer to reHeat, the biscuit was hard as a rock, and the dirty rice had huge chocks of grizzle in it. Depressing. It started off kinda cool when we had some version of AI take our order. I thought "this is neat" and then I realized it's because there isn't anyone capable of engaging with customers. People were eating snacks in the kitchen, one guy had a cigarette in his mouth because he was getting ready to go outside, and there was trash all over the floor. Here is something wild. They forgot the gravy and gave us the wrong sauce. No bid deal, it happens. When I went inside to get it, the girl at the register (once she finished her text conversation) said "yeah". I explained this minor inconvenience and asked if she could help. She was able to switch out the sauce and make a small container of gravy. Unfortunately while handing me the sauce a little bit dripped onto the register and then........ this is the wild part, she wiped it with the end of her finger and then put her finger in her mouth and stared at me. Except for ONE very nice, very efficient lady at the window, most of them seem like it's an inconvenience for us to place an order. I'm in an abusive relationship with this place. They treat me terribly but I keep giving them chances. Last night they let me down again. We went in just to get Boberry biscuits which they actually had, but we had to wait for someone to show up and take our order. No customers in the place but a staff member was at a table yelling at someone on the phone about what sounded like family problems (OK I get that). There were so many ceiling tiles with serious water damage. Where is the owner? I know they are a little engaged since they had the place playing Christian music, but what about customer service?
