Visiting the dentist for routine care was so traumatic that she put off routine visits and of course soon, she needed to go. Oh she tried to put it off, but the aches and pains forced her to look for one and soon! She tried one dentist suggested by her dad but this guy was a right stick-in-the-mud! He told her he didn't work on people who were afraid of the dentist, you see. And so it was until she really had to find a dentist and right quick! She looked around and decided on River City Dental and Dr. Walker. She was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff was. The atmosphere was calm and happy. Since she didn't like dentists, this helped. The staff told her they would do everything they could to ensure the maximum insurance coverage, which also helped. Now, to face her fears: the dentist. And oh my, what a great guy! Dr. Walker, a graduate of local BSU understood what it's like to deal with frightened people. He also didn't talk down to her--he had worked with Indians in Alaska, some of whom hadn't seen a dentist in decades, so he was used to working on people like that without judgment. She found herself relaxing and, could it be, actually forgot for the four-hour procedure that she was in a dentist's chair! And she lived happily ever after. The End.
